Cons: -No automatic sleep mode

Pros: -Fantastic sound quality-Built-in Amp makes these extremely versatile
Comment:
Superb speakers at a great price ($329 on sale). They replaced my Logitech Z680 5.1 and what a difference... Sound clarity, not over the top bass and no distortion even when raising the volume to the max. The piano white finish with Kevlar woofer complements these premium quality speakers. If your budget allows it and looking for a set that does music, gaming and movies, look no further than the A5+.I will be adding the S8 sub shortly along with Creative Zxr PCIe Sound card.

Cons: Sleep mode not automatic and has a vampire draw of 4 watts

Pros: Excellent sound qualityHas both 3.5mm and RCA inputs as well as an option RCA out for a sub
Comment:
Best desktop speakers I have owned so far. Using them with a Xonar Essence ST. These replaced an old Logitech Z5300 5.1 system which pale in comparison. The A5+ have much clearer sound allowing you to pick out individual instruments. The bass is good and not boosted like they are on Logitech subs. Powerswitch is at the back but the front volume knob acts as a sleep button. Would have been nice if it automatically went to sleep. There is a 4W draw in sleep though.

Cons: None at all

Pros: Awesome set of speakers

I bought this set and I got it yesterday. They are awesome and I love them. I have owned many sets before and this has to be the best of them all. I intend on adding the S8 sub to the setup soon.

Cons: A bit bulky. Also a steep price

Pros: Great sound clarity (highs, mediums, and lows), Variable output RCA jacks for subwoofer, convenient USB port
Comment:
I was blown away by these speakers. I had upgraded from an old logitech z-5500 5.1 system, and oh boy did the sound clarity on these audioengines surprise me. I was skeptical at first about hearing a big difference between the logitechs and this, but it's really obvious. Music, games, and movies sound much more crisp and every minute audio detail can be heard. Highs and mids sound fantastic, and the bass is surprisingly good. It won't rumble the room, but the bass is clear, tight, and feels really pleasant.I plan on using the variable outputs on these speakers to hook up an active subwoofer. The fact these speakers have this variable output is VERY convenient. Awesomely convenient.Compared to the audioengine a5, I hear these a5+ have better sound, are slightly more powerful, and have better thermal management for the amp. I do not really know if these claims hold true, as I have not owned the a5 myself. A big difference that is present for sure, is that there is no ac outlet.Would I recommend these? Absolutely. You truly get what you pay for: Awesome quality sound.

Cons: none so far

Pros: Beautiful finishgood sound quality
Comment:
I think this speakers are great. They fill the room quite nicely and the color matches with my computer case. The sound quality that this speaker deliver is excellent and great. The highs are very clear and the mids are pretty good as well. The bass is not too bad, I adjusted my EQ to my liking and the bass just sounds great. Overall it is a high quality speaker and should last you for a while. I hear break-ins are about 50 hours, but then again, some say that break-ins are just myths.

Cons: none

Pros: Absolutely stunning sound reproduction.
Comment:
I replaced an Edifier S330D set with the A5+ and my expectations have been exceeded. They are able to reproduce musical elements that where simply omitted by any of the 2.1 systems I have used so far. I am about 1/3 through the estimated burn in phase, which means that these speakers will only get better.

Cons: -price (but to be expected for such fine product)-break-in period

Pros: +balanced+sleek design
Comment:
these speakers are absolutely wonderful to my ears out of the box, despite the stiffness that i observed. it was expected, though as the speakers need to be broken in, and i noticed improvement even after several hours (few days). for anyone looking for a good set of 2-2,1 speakers for audio playback i would definitely suggest considering these.

Cons: -At the sale price, absolutely none

Pros: -Sound quality-Build quality
Comment:
These are fantastic little powered bookshelves, with ability to hit all but the lowest notes on a double bass. The amplifier and speakers are of very good build quality, you're definitely getting more than what you paid for.Pair this with a decent DAC and you have a very good desktop system.

Cons: Wish they would sleep automatically.

Pros: Great Sound, Quality Connectors, USB Charging.
Comment:
I replaced a logitech x-540? with these and an Energy subwoofer I picked up for $100 at a big box store. I can not tell you how great these sound. I wish I picked up a second pair while the white ones were on sale last week. If the last poster wants to sell, I would gladly take them off their hands. Remember these speakers need to be broken in. Dont judge until you have 20 or so hours on them. Remember they are REAR ported, dont put them right up against a wall or they will be boomy. If set up right they will ROCK your world. NCIX put them on SALE AGAIN. I WANT ANOTHER PAIR.

Cons: Sound is completely muffled if more than a foot or two away from the speakers.Volume increases before decreasing when turning dial.

Pros: Beautiful packaging and reputation...
Comment:
I was completely surprised at how poor the sound is considering the price and reputation. I have to put my ear near the speaker in order to hear anything clearly. I've never experienced such a muffled sound, it was so bad I wasn't sure if the tweeters were working or not!!! Apparently these speakers really need to be broken in. So I'll update  my review after another 10 hours of listening. But right now it is very poor after the first few hours...Also it is as if the volume dial is broken??? Has anyone else experienced this problem where the volume increases at first before decreasing when using the dial?

Cons: - When turning down the volume dial, there is a short spike in volume up before the volume goes down and vice versa. After looking online for additional information, it's seems it's part of their design since other owners have the same issue. Minor issue in my opinion- It's a pricey investment- Takes up a lot of real estate on your desk

Pros: - Hands down the best computer speaker I've ever heard- These are powerful speakers, there is no need for a sub woofer- Superb built quality
Comment:
I was in the market to pick up a set of new speakers upgrading from a set of Edifier E3350 2.1 system. I wanted to get rid of the sub woofer to save some space in the room and at the same time improve on the sound quality. After some research I decided to pick up these speakers as they were on sale at NCIX and there are numerous positive reviews on the web. Now I'm no audiophile but these are the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. Music/Movies/Games sounds crisp, detailed and packs a punch. If you are willing to spend some money for quality speakers, look no further, gives these a try and your ears will thank you for it.

Cons: Price, for some. These speakers are more expensive than most computer users want to pay.

Pros: Flat response from 50Hz to past 20kHz. The Crown Royal lookalike bags for the speakers and cables are a nice touch.
Comment:
A terrific pair of computer speakers. These speakers are for people who want A+ sound for their music, games, or movies. You'd have to spend over $1000 with a dedicated stereo system to get better sound reproduction for yourself.
