IT WORKED :DWent through three ASUS M4N68T-M AM3 motherboards that have been all negative so I got my income back and got this on sale at the same cost. I have a Biostar 790GX motherboard in my key gaming Pc and it's fantastic top quality for the cost, this board is the same way. The board just has a good excellent feel and appear to it and it does anything she wants it to do.Pc specs are this motherboard, Athlon II X2 250, 2GB of some 1333 DDR3 RAM and a 8600GT. She loves it. None at all. Told some folks on the net that I was finding a BIOSTAR motherboard and they laughed at it, mentioned Biostar was a undesirable motherboard manufacture. I don't see it. Both of the Pc's I have built in the final six months have Biostar motherboards and they are great. Lots of Bios options, good build excellent, looks and feel. I will use Biostar once again in the future and I doubt I will ever use an Asus motherboard ever again.

-Price tag-Excellent manufacturing-Lots of excellent features -Only 2 DIMM slots, not excellent for future RAM upgradesI knew that before I bought even though, so no reduction in rating simply because of it. Provided to my brother as a present with processor/RAM. Exceptional buy, and not a single hiccup so far. Program has been running steady due to the fact hardware installation.

Sets up in Win 7 with (mostly) no problemsEffectiveOn-board video (with 4GB RAM installed) gets a four.five score for windows Aero and a five.7 for gaming; no require to add a card to have a great HTPC setup These are all minor:BIOS settings are a small uncommon; non-common terms employed to describe settings, fairly coarse manage of memory settings, that sort of factor.DTX format board is an odd choice - I don't see any DTX situations readily available, although it functions fine in a microATX case. The downside is that you give up an expansion slot; for an HTPC, a PCI-E x1 slot would have been good.Rebate hasn't shown up but...will it? For the cash, for a builder who wants a modern day board but doesn't intend to add a lot of expansion cards, this board is a very good value. Maintain an eye out for the occasional cost drops, but proper now, I'd say don't count on acquiring a rebate...

Really fantastic cost for this chipset. Effortless to set up. Performance superb. NO SURPRISES was capable to replace my old BIOSTAR A785GE with this one, and I did not have to reinstall Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. I didn't even need to have to install driver disk. So the transfer was transparent. I did install DDR3 RAM to replace the DDR2 ram that the old board supported, and even that was painless. Oveall for ื.99 this was a great get. The Game Boost function was not applied. I have a NVidia 240 GT video card with HDMI. the AOD overclocking is an AMD app you download from them. The app is not supplied on the CD. The tauting of AMD's Overdrive with ACC appears to recommend that this is new cutting edge technologies. My preceding board's chipset supported this with no issues also.

Paired up with a AMD Sempron 140 Sargas 2.7GHz for a price range develop, was even in a position to unlock an additional core. Power/price worked out wonderful. Bios navigation is ok, USB bios update operates well. I'm content with my purchase. Longevity will be the deciding element for all spending budget minded boards.

Affordable AKA Cheap Economical AKA Inexpensive I ordered this board as aspect of a complete shipment of parts to full a price range make for a simple Athlon II x two computer for my mother to check email, play straightforward internet games, facebook and so forth. wasn't needing or expecting miracles, just that it would boot up and operate. The board was totally dead when I tried to energy it up, no beeps, no video output whatsoever. The cpu fan, case fans, power provide fans spun for a quick second or two when the power switch was pressed so I did not suspect the power supply. I tried quite a few factors which includes reseting the cmos, attempting to energy up outdoors the case to insure it wasn't shorting out and disconnecting the drives, RAM, and so on. nothing would bring it to life, I tried the power provide in one more older pc it worked fine. RMAed and ordered a brand G board that expense about ฤ additional, program fired up the first time no problems.Biostar Tech Assistance is by E-mail and replies took two-24 hrs each time. Under no circumstances heard back after I confirmed the board was de

...if the board seems to arrive DOA.I have this paired with an Athlon II X3 450 and 2x2GB Kingston DDR3-1600.Initial boot-ups didn't function till I unplugged from energy and popped out the CMOS battery for about 20 seconds. Now POSTs and operating Memtest.Pros: low-cost, has VGA+DVI+HDMI. ATI video chipset, whose drivers on Windows is just ridiculous. (A video driver wants .NET? Seriously?) Would have preferred Nvidia, but discovered no current AM3 motherboards w/ Nvidia and HDMI on-board. Will attempt to don\'t forget to update this assessment immediately after Win7 set up. Just wanted to mention the trick of pulling the CMOS battery if the mobo arrives DOA.

Exceptional board for the value after rebate! This is my second Biostar board. It was an easy install (and you don't seriously have to set up the drivers from the CD). I would go to AMD and get the most current ATI video and AHCI native SATA drivers (if you allow AHCI). The onboard video and sound is good for a budget system. It tends to make for a rapid low-cost upgrade. You can't beat the worth. This board is similar to the Biostar that has USB three. but is half the price. The BIOS has tons of alternatives, but this board seriously isn't for overclockers. Like most new boards it only has 1 IDE channel, 1 PS2 port, and only headers for serial/parallel ports. Some new boards don't have any of these older ports anymore, so in a way, this is a plus this board still has some help! No old style IDE CDROM audio input. Only 1 technique fan header. It comes with a quickstart poster... No printed MB manual and BIOS manual are incorporated, but are available on the integrated CD or online. Had to disable the floppy drive I have on my program to set up Windows 7. This is a identified glitch in Windows 7 setup. If you want to use AHCI SATA native mode, you want to change the BIOS before installing Windows 7. After installing Windows 7, Set up THE AMD AHCI SATA DRIVER FROM AMD.COM! The Windows AHCI driver is garbage for both Intel and AMD chipsets.

Price tagFeature set. You can burn your self on the NB heatsink. This factor runs a lot hotter than it ought to. 48C and climbing !This was tested in an open air environment, in a HTPC case it would fry. Each CPU cores have been cold ࿃C at the identical time)This MB would be short lived if not mounted in a wind tunnel.Test was using a Callisto 80W AM3 with no overclock. Will return for anything else, almost certainly yet another Gigabyte.I have four other Biostar boards and none run this hot. There is no space on this board for a huge HS & fan in the NB location.Too negative due to the fact otherwise it is a good option MB at a extremely good price tag.

Just plugged almost everything and it worked. I am not overclocking, core unlocking or tweaking. I just wanted a standard board with onboard HDMI for my super cheap HTPC. This board fits the bill completely. I/O cover is cheap. I mean Actually affordable. It is on a back panel that I hope not to see for a couple of years, so it isn't a big deal to me, but if you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing build, this could be a dilemma for you. Only two memory slots, not actually a con due to the fact it is as advertised, but it did force me into a single 4gb stick rather of 2 2gb (in an attempt to future proof for 8gb).

Applied this for my 1st pc build a few weeks ago. Instructions and layout had been effortless to realize for a newbie.Key specs that produced me buy:* Strong onboard video saved me from acquiring a graphics card - I can play LOTRO on high graphics setting.* Simple unlock/overclock feature - haven't utilised this yet b/c I don't want the further performance, but it says it's uncomplicated, correct?* Micro ATX form meant I could get the board first, then wait for for a shell shocker case of any size* Integrated two SATA cables - bought a 'bare' hard drive so I necessary a cable* AM3 Not a con, just a warning: Micro ATX means modest. Almost everything's packed in close collectively and space is tight. I was capable to plug every thing in quite effortlessly (I was amazed how very easily things go with each other) but a fellow beginner with bigger fingers or worse eyesight might prefer a complete size board. two RAM slots are a lot for me - when 8GB isn't sufficient, it'll be time for a rebuild anyway.I've wondered why boards have old IDE slots and so forth -- but when I decided to cannibalize my six year old DVD drive from my old Computer it had an IDE connector. Ripped it out of the old Computer, plugged it into the new one, and it worked, no challenge. Wonderful.

Me and my pal every single purchased one particular for our identical builds, works good. Both have an Athlon II X4 in them and work fine. Lots of options in the BIOS to fool with, and there are updates so if you buy one use the disc to install the updater and you're excellent to go. Onboard graphics worked fine for setup, etc so I'm sure those operate very good as well. Has built in HDMI so it'd be fantastic for a media center as well. A couple of minor items produced me knock an egg off. For one, there is no energy indicator light. Not even a measly LED. It's not a necessity, but it's good to have when you get rid of power to piddle around. For two, you have to select involving either a HDD light, or a energy light if your PSU has two connectors for them. Can't use both even although there are an added two unused pins. Could just be me, so don't take my word on that. If you have a bigger GPU, only count on getting a single PCI slot useable, but I didn't require one particular so it didn't bother me.

not totally BUGGY BUGGY S3 suspend with ACC enabled.no repair in any bios update. bios BUGGY? early adopter.liked this board simply because its low-cost and capable.i kept purchasing itƓx, dummy?) simply because i presumed that sustaining their buisness rep would encourage biostar to get the BUGS out.hours and days lost in googlesearch, reconfiguring bios, jumper settings, win7 energy settings, hardware swaps, bios versions. effit. got to either leave it on 24ǝ, run the sempron as a single core or purchase a multicore but i will not do a tough boot every single time i want to check the weather on the computer. perhaps i'll just throw it below the wheels of my BUGGY.

Soon after about a single week's worth of use, seems rock strong, and no difficulties functioning with my other hardware. Was capable to set up Debian GNU/Linux "Squeeze" six. with no difficulties. DVI output port did not operate on the motherboard -- too considerably visual interference and blurring. Biostar's tech help not particularly valuable. HDMI and VGA ports appears to function fine, though. The DVI port really should have worked out of the box.

Excellent low-cost board with HDMI, DVI and DDR3 slots.Least pricey board I found with coreunlocking, hdmi and ddr3. Unlocked my Sempron 145 to dual core and overclocked it to 3.7 Ghz.No difficulties however and I have been operating some higher than stock voltages. Lots of possibilities for DRAM timing in BIOS.BIOS is fairly quickly navigated. On board graphics isn't something specific for any 3D applications but performs for motion pictures, typical Computer use. Not as a lot BIOS handle of the DRAM possibilities as I would have liked (no correct asynchronous manage of the CPU and DRAM frequency. Comes with two locking SATA cables. Men and women are complaining about lack of RAID setup documentation. Check out the biostar internet site, they have full manuals for the mobo and bios which detail RAID setup. Modest board, no dilemma with this but it is smaller which is kinda cool I guess.

I have built three systems with this board now. I have to say its a nice item for the income and I'm shocked about some undesirable responses mainly because I have built more than 20 systems with Biostar boards and never had a problem? Bang for the buck hard to beat. Want it had the overclocking attributes of the TA series This board with 3 core AMD unlocked to four cores is an unbeatable worth. For less than 400 bucks you can construct a good system with 5770 video card which I have however to find a game that it wont play properly. Even if it wont unlock the three core it nonetheless games great. We reside in a time where you can get tons of energy for chump alter. I will by no means pay 200 plus for a processor as extended as AMD is in small business.

Excellent motherboard, incredibly steady immediately after three months of ownership. Biostar "declined" my rebate claiming my receipt was not identified (baloney!). They have my mailing address, e mail address, and telephone, so why didn't they contact me? Since the rebate is a scam! Ideal assistance: dont ever expect to get your rebate. I will by no means purchase a Biostar item once more. Manufacturer Response:For rebate inquiries, suggest you to contact rebates@biostar-usa.com for assistant.

Inexpensive Affordable Board was DOA, I ought to have heeded the numerous warnings right here in the critiques but there have been so many raves as effectively. It was entirely dead the only point I could get it to do was spin the cpu and case fans for a second immediately after the power button was pressed and that was it. I confirmed all my other brand new components have been fantastic right after RMAing this back to Newegg and ordering another brand mb even although I was extremely extremely confident that it was negative before sending it back. Get in touch with with Biostar help is only by e mail and not the fastest, 12-24 hour response time. That mentioned they did respond a couple of occasions which is a lot greater than some other corporations I've dealt with or heard about. The recommendations they gave had been valuable to confirm my thoughts that the board was DOA.

unlocked my phenom x2 555 3.2ghz to an x4 with ease. surprised by the gaming power of the integrated gfx. not a large complaint (because we all know integrated gfx are muf cabage) but i only use the hdmi out on this and with the stock drivers the video turns on and off just about every time the screen adjustments (switch a page, scroll as well rapidly, doesnt happen once movies or games are loaded). this is fixed with updated drivers but the new drivers cut fps in some games by almost 50 percent.....just so ya know :P
