Cons: slight delay, did not inform canadian customers about $10 canadian phone number.

Pros: cheap, works well

I have to say that I am quite impressed with how well this works. here are the details ..I am using and older IBM P4, with cable internet. My Download speed is 14M and upload is 1M. I find there is a bit of a delay at times similar to a cell phone, but the clarity of the call is good. sometimes some clicks and pops. If you use your phone a lot, I would not recommend replacing your usual land line with a magic jack, but its great for LD calls and certainly cheap. they also do not tell you that canadian customers have to pay an additional $10 US per year for a canadian ph number. You can also use a regular PC headset with the software, which is nice, so if you a re using a laptop, and need to be mobile this would be handy. call ID and voicemail work well too. I like how it emails you a WAV file of your voice messages.

Cons: Only as good as your broadband connection

Pros: Very easy to use for non tech people
Comment:
Very easy VoIP solution for the regular joe consumer who doesn't want to hassle with other computer software speaker/microphone voip solutions. You can use this device with your wireless phones as long as you plug the base station into the magicjack

Cons: not free

Pros: it worksvery cool

I picked this up in the US on a trip a couple months back. It works great and got a local number. Numbers for my area weren't available at first but after 2 weeks there were a few to choose from. Calls are comparable to Skype calls. Quality is good overall with clear audio. I did have issues with the caller id display. I had to run a 100k Ohm Resistor across the red and green wires in a F/F adapter box.

Cons: Weird XP install..keep clicking "OK it will workVista no problemComputer must be on at all times

Pros: It works. Way above expectations. Got a local Victoria BC number. Calls in and out are flawless. Do not have to use "1"

This runs circles around Skype. No fade EVER and no dropped calls om a cordless phone. People can not tell I am on VOIP. This is the wave to the future. If you have Telus stock ..sell now.

Cons: Can't use on secure networks without administrator privileges as it needs to install a 1011 byte program when plugged into USB port. Can't figure out how to make it work with home alarm system so still need landline.Don't know if phone # area code is available in your area until you buy and try it.Unable to port current phone number (they said they are "working" on it)

Pros: Super inexpensive, only $20 USD/year for unlimited North American Calls (incoming/outgoing + calling features)Works with wired or WiFi connectionCan set to forward call to another number when computer off or unplugged from USB portCrystal clear connection, equitable to Vonage & Shaw Digital PhoneCan change phone # as neededWorks when traveling, including overseasOption to send voice mails to emailToo many strengths to include them all here
Comment:
Explored numerous options to reduce telecommunication costs and found this product really works. Luv being able to pick a phone number for any place in North America,

Cons: Computer has to be on for calls.

Pros: Cheap calls and small unit.

I heard rumors of stand alone unit in the works that just plugs into your router instead of the computer. Buying from NCIX beats buying from other sketchy magicjack places online.
