Cons: Three slot cooler

Pros: Easy installationLow priceGreat performanceQuiet
Comment:
Replaced the cooler on my HD 5770 that was beginning to make some grinding noise. The Arctic L2 manages to cool the card 10C lower on load than the stock cooler at near-silent operation. Great low price. Easy installation. Quite large, however, and uses almost 3 slots. Fits an Antec NSK3480 with no issues.

Cons: thermal paste is a bit of a pain

Pros: silent, cooooool, excellent price/performance
Comment:
As several others pointed out, the thermal paste takes a while to set so you have to make sure everything holds for a while before getting your card back in the case. Apart from that I haven't had any issues. For the price this is hard to beat

Cons: In Crossfire the inside card that sucks air from the back of the other card over heated. OK for single card.

Pros: Easy Install, Very Quiet, Low cost, Better than stock cooling
Comment:
Arctic Cooler Accelero L2 PlusXFX 6870 stock cooler fan died. Looked on Arctic Cooler site and found documents that say this cooler does support the 6870. I purchased two of these for crossfire. Pin connector on Artcic cooler fan is three or four pin, XFX 6870 has two pin connector. I cut the two pin connector off of stock fan and cut the three pin of off the supplied molex adaptor soldered the wires together and it works great as an adaptor. The XFX 6870 uses voltage to control fan speed. I tested fan speed using the Catalyst Control Center and varified fan speed works. The Arctic Cooler Accelero L2 Plus is way quieter. Monitored Temp and fan speed during game play and the cooler is working great . Would not recommend for Crossfire as the inside card over heated. I found these for $15 and Price matched. $30.00 for two. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-27-13 06:52 PM

Cons: Installation instructions

Pros: Quiet, price
Comment:
The fan itself was easy to install. My XFX 6870 only had a 2 pin fan header, so I had to use the molex connector. Not a big deal, but now unless I open my case, it runs at 100%. Luckily, it's quiet enough this doesn't matter. On the downside, the instructions (both online and off) weren't really clear when it came to where to place the included ram/voltage heat sinks. The ram was obvious, but having not done this in years, took a bit of research on my part to see where to put the voltage heat sinks on my card. All in all, great fan for the price.

Cons: Tricky to install, having to mix heatsink adhesive, passive RAM heatsinks

Pros: Quiet, price, cools GPU very well
Comment:
The fan on my Nvidia GTS 450 started making odd noises and my card was overheating (100+ Celsius) when gaming so I purchased the Accelero L2 as a replacement.I liked the packaging because even though it was that heavy sealed platic that usually requires a chainsaw to open, this one had three little snap-tab things that made opening the package a snap. That's a plus for me.The heatsink/fan was a good bit bigger than the stock cooler that came on my Gigabyte GTS 450 card and it appeared to be solidly made. The package also included several passive heatsinks for the card's RAM chips and voltage regulators. They required the use of a thermal adhesive (included in package). This adhesive came in two packages that had to be mixed together and then applied to the chips. You then pressed the heatsink onto the chips and held it firm for 10 seconds then let it cure for 5 hours. Even after letting it set for well over 5 hours, the heatsinks were easily knocked loose and fell off. I followed the directions and cleaned the chips with an eraser before applying the adhesive, mixed the adhesive for a solid 5 minutes and applied it within 15 minutes but the heatsinks still fell off. As a result I didn't bother using the passive heatsinks and I have dried adhesive over all my chips on my video card. Not a big deal but this whole process bugged me.I attached the GPU heatsink/fan combo with little difficulty and it runs quite a bit quieter than the stock fan, even when the stock fan was working properly. The GPU also runs about 10 degrees cooler. I may have gotten a few degrees cooler with the passive heatsinks on the memory but I guess I'll never know.Overall I am happy with the purchase and would buy another cooler from the same manufacturer and would recommend this cooler to others. Cons: cement takes long tu cure... my specific card 3 pin connector is not included in the package. Either I do some soldering on the old plug or I can't get a variable fan speed.

Pros: price (pros are too short so I place this lengthy text here)
Comment:
the fact the cement is long to cure is just a con for those rapid bunnies like me. Fan does a decent job at surclassing the stock fan on my 5670. Temperature HAS gone down a few degrees. Minus the cons, will purchase again anyways.

Cons: Thermal glue didn't cure/stickAverage performance

Pros: SilentLow cost
Comment:
I purchased this to install on a 6770, the stock cooler was loud and ran very hot. The positives of this cooler is that it was dead silent even on the 12v setting, it also cooled very well on idle settings. It's also cheap when on sale or you pm it.Now the negatives, the thermal glue they advertise did not work. It claims you must use it within 15 minutes of mixing, and has a cure time of 5 hours. However even after 12 hours it was apparent it was never going to cure. After waiting 24 hours there still was no change so I cleaned it off and used other thermal adhesive. Instructions were followed to the letter. It also failed to cool much better than the stock heatsink at load, it was however silent while the stock cooler was very loud. Contact was good, and idle temps were great but full load temps were disappointing. Compared to the stock cooler the overall size is similar. If your main concern is silence, this cooler would make an appropriate choice. In my case it just did not beat the stock setup by a huge margin like one would expect.

Cons: thermal compound, my own stupidity

Pros: Price after PM, silence, cooling
Comment:
After PM this was around $15, which tickled me pink.As with the previous model, this thing is dead silent. Great to work with. Unlike it's previous model, instead of using thermal tape for the ram and etc, it uses thermal compound. This is a welcome addition as it had a history of dropping ram heatsinks before. Not any longer. The problem though, is that I was setting this up on a limited timeframe and started reading the instructions. I didn't realize that the thermal compound was being used when I started this venture. Sure enough, cure time of 5 hours. Add to that the fact that I didn't use an erase or rubbing alcohol to prep the voltage regulators at all... needless to say the heatsinks for those dropped off altogether, so be warned that this needs to be done.Other than that, it is super quiet (which is nice) temps have dropped, and it was extremely cheap. Would recommend to anyone who is willing to surrender a couple of PCI/PCI-E slots that this will cover in exchange for silence.
