- Silent This factor barely functions. I consider the difficulty lies in its flimsy construction. The legs that attach it to the card bend simply, so it's genuinely had to get the factor attached suitable. The fins themselves may as well have been created out of aluminum foil. My card is now 55C idle and 90C at load. It's not like the installation was even that challenging so I don't assume it's truly my fault. You screw four points in and attach some plastic clips. Like I said, it's really poorly produced. It's unnecessarily major, taking into consideration it doesn't even function. It's huge! Seriously. I thought I had a massive case, and I nonetheless had trouble receiving it in. Be cautious.

1. Cost2. Overall performance - Went from 55 normalኪ beneath complete load to 36 typical/ 42 below full load. This issue is phenomenal!!Purchased this due to my OC'd 8800 GT ࿼ core) operating to hot, and Borderlands producing it overheat at full. Now I have every solution cranked, and stock OC back. So impressed. If anything, the guidelines could be a tiny superior, but not bad. Make positive you know where your voltage reg chips are ahead of you take apart your system. Doh!

This is a very high overall performance passive cooler It could not cool my HD 6870 passively. I had hopes that the case airflow in my Silverstone FT02 would be adequate to cool the card passively. For the duration of strain testing the temperature steadily climbed to 95C where I terminated the test. The cooler does not seem to handle the vertical layout of the FT02 really nicely. Considering that the card is vertical in the FT02 the bottom heatpipes need to fight gravity. Through stress testing the leading two heatpipes are hot to the touch (a very good factor given that that means they are conducting heat away from the GPU). The bottom two heatpipes remain cool to the touch indicating that they are not conducting heat.I removed the cooler and went back to the stock cooling. The HD 6870 puts out much more heat than the Accelero S1 Rev. 2 is created to manage passively. I was hoping that the higher airflow in my case would make up for this and permit the cooler to cool my card silently. It did not function. This is nevertheless an outstanding cooler. It just didn't perform in my very demanding application. This is one particular of the handful of coolers that has heatpipes that run 90 degrees to the long direction of the card. This is critical for installation in my FT02 because heatpipes do not like to flow against gravity. The orientation of the heatpipes and the cheap value is what produced me give this cooler a try.

Silent!Very very good passive cooling, IF you have excellent case airflow Temps can get on the higher side if you have a hot card. I now have two of these in my Mac Pro. A single on my ATI HD 2600 XT and the other on an 8800 GT. The 8800 GT hit 90 C following running ATItool for 14 minutes but then the driver reset. I'm under no circumstances going to personally place that significantly pressure on it when gaming.A quite exciting part of this card is if you run ATI tool, for instance, and get it up to a high temperature, the moment you stop the artifact scan it drops 2 degrees C and keeps falling, quickly. The GPU temp recovers very swiftly when it has a break.

Silenced dual XFX 9600 GSO's, which had been deafening. Lowered idle temperatures by 10C to 37C and 42C respectively, on complete load neither rise above 55C. Installation uncomplicated and simple. Need to have to acquire a longer SLI bridge to go about the larger coolers. Tends to make only marginal efficiency difference from what I've observed. Case is NZXT Tempest, so has great ventilation. Turbo modules unnecessary. Also has empty slot in between cards which could make a difference as nicely.

Amazing performance! My stock cooler was failing, with temperatures IDLING about 79C, and any really demanding 3D application became out of the query with temps spiking to themal-shutdown levels. Now I'm operating at 49C idle, with the max only hitting 68-70C!The stock fan began out noisy, and was beginning to screech as properly...now my box is whisper-quiet. The memory heatsinks are a bit of a pain, the offered thermal tape has poor hold. (A bit of Arctic Alumina Adhesive can enable resolve that concern nevertheless.)Also, this beast is massive, generating it hard/impossible to match in smaller circumstances. Considering that this is a passive radiator cooler rather than actively cooled with a fan, it's essential to have fantastic airflow in your case.

1. Benefits: I added a 120mm fan with zip ties and set it to run at a quiet 1000 rpm. With this cooler, idle and load temps on my Nvidia 8800GT dropped by 40 percent. Unfortunately, it took a lot of analogue trial and error to get to this point. See under.2. Price tag (although, in my practical experience, NewEgg isn't the least expensive spot to get Arctic Cooling items). I just about gave up. I took a lot of care preparing the RAM chips and voltage regulators for the stick-on heatsinks, since that seemed to be the most frequent shortcoming. The actual assembly was not hard. But my initial final results had been disappointing: even with my fan, idle temps dropped by only about 10C, and load temps not at all. Soon after much testing, I decided to go back to stock cooling, which had worked tolerably for the last two years. When I undid the screws, I saw promptly what the challenge was: the major heat sink was only generating make contact with with about 50 % of the GPU! I could tell because the untouched places had been clean and shiny: no thermal transfer goop. That explained every little thing. The challenge now was to fix the problem. Employing my trusty Leatherman, I ended up filing down the plastic spacers on the side that wasn't generating speak to. This worked, but it took 1.5 hours of trial & error. When it was close--I didn't want to file also considerably--I finished with fresh paste. I'm extremely pleased with the final results. I'm not pleased with how I got right here. I also have an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro, which installed very easily and worked really well appropriate away. Judging from my experience here, the create good quality on this item is reduced; or maybe the CPU cooler doesn't have to accommodate as several variations.Useful factors to knowɅ. There are now 4 tiny heatsinks for your voltage regulators; these can be fitted on a range of boards, including my 1st-gen 8800GT.two. The plastic clips have changed since the manual was written. I located them easy to install, impossible to get rid of.3. The metal frame that you screw the GPU onto has 4 thin plastic strips on the screw-in pads. Remove these, and the adhesive surface underneath will hold the 4 plastic spacers in location although you get the card into position. This is well thought-out, but not nicely explained.four. When you feel you're finished, unscrew and check: is the GPU creating full get in touch with?

Does a good job of cooling my Radeon 4870 (HIS 'IceQ' version). Took the idle temp down a couple of degrees C (idles at 43C), but below load it was a whole ႆC* cooler. The HIS cooler screamed beneath load and the temperature was 80C+, when beneath load the Accelero kept the GPU at 50 to 52C. I utilized Arctic Silver 5 on the heatsink. Ideal of all, it's SILENT!. With my AZZA Helios case and its massive quiet fans I get very good airflow but playing games doesn't sound like take-off any more. Thermal goop on the heatsink stuck to the plastic packaging, strange there was no protective tape on it. Didn't bother me even though considering that I was going to clean it off anyway to use Arctic Silver five. One particular of the memory heatsink wants to be 'dremmelled' to grind it down at an angle on the a single nearest the PCIe connector and angled down towards the GPU socket so that 1 of the heatpipes on the cooler will fit - This on the Radon 4870. Tends to make the graphics card a lot wider. Be cautious if you have a case like mine (AZZA Helios 910) with a massive side fan, it might be a tight fit. Fortunately it did just match so I have a 230mm fan blowing air over it. ATI and NVidia seriously need to take some cues from the aftermarket heatsink persons. This is a heatsink done correct.

Works like it says! I used it on my ASUS Geforce 9600 GSO due to the fact its fan is fairly loud. A lot of internet websites don't list my Graphics Card as being compatible but make sure to check the Artic Cooling website if you're unsure mainly because theirs did! I noticed about a 20C drop in temperature on my GPU like most persons. ส.99 is a single of the lowest rates you'll come across on the online also. I got mine for the very same value (when new egg was out of stock) but I forgot what web page. It also comes with ram heat sinks and voltage regulator heat sinks that just stick on. Quite cool. They go on both sides of the card. If in doubt count up how several you have and see if there is enough for each sides of the card. I had to use a hack saw and reduce a couple of the voltage regulator heat sinks to fit around other points on the board. The Voltage Regulator heat sinks are made to fit on two regulators at a time so its not a big deal if you have to do this to make them fit effectively. I envision they may well disperse heat a small bit additional becoming on two at a time but nothing at all significant. Could have greater guidelines but if you study them thoroughly you can figure it out. This is not one thing you can breeze through. You will need to take your time. and make positive its completed proper. Make sure you put the clips that hold the cooler to the card on in a very good spot the 1st time! I place on a single of the clips in a bad spot exactly where it created the Cooler looser on 1 end and it was a small tough to get it off. I had to use two modest screw drivers and kind of pry and hope I didn't snap the plastic clips. After they snap with each other they're on there baby!

I can only speak to my experience, and my encounter was obtaining this to save my 8800GT after poor monitoring and demanding games triggered it to hit practically 90C and giving it permanent heating issues. It's stock cooling method no longer sufficing, I purchased this to attempt and maintain it rolling. By itself, the Accelero didn't help a ton - without having any fan my temps had been finding too higher a lot also fast. But, I attribute this to the concerns with the GPU far over the potential of the cooler. Anyway, my answer was to attach a dinky 8mm fan right to the front of the cooler...you know...contradicting the goal of it.But let it be known that it worked really effectively right after i got a fan in there on it. My 8800GT kept on kicking for just about a year much more of regular gaming use till it's inevitable death not lengthy ago.

Works actually well on my old 8800gt. For the duration of bc2 it would get 80+ and i would get "white screen of death". Following installing it and adding an arctic cooling AF9 PWM 92mm fan it brought down my max to 53c. I am also in a 75 degree room. Low-cost thermal tape on heat sinks, even though i did use isopropyl and cleaned memory chips than applied a eraser, they would nevertheless fall off. So i employed a bit of A-S-5 on them and it sticks real properly. Also, it says on their website that it doesn't will need vrm heat sinks, i nevertheless place them on it as they did not overclock it.

This is a good and very efficient GPU cooler. I used this for two years on my 8800GT and just not too long ago bought a Radeon 5850 card. This cooler will not fit the 5850 devoid of some modification but it was easy to maker it fit with my dremel. I just had to reduce a 1 x 1ǘ inch section off one particular of the corners of the cooler and it fits great now. I have a silent 120mm fan strapped to the cooler and it keeps my 5850 at 66C max whilst overclocked to 800񳁮 and it is totally very in contrast to the stock fan that sounds like a jet. Its a tiny bulky but doesn't actually bother me. Does its job nicely and keeps my card cool. Didn't have any difficulties with the RAM heatsinks not sticking as other people have mentioned. In fact I transferred them from my 8800GT to the 5850 and they all stayed in place very securely.

In my HTPC nmedia 6000 case it's about 1ǚ too tall and 1Ǟ also extended. The challenge for me is that the radiator is positioned up and to the front, it's not positioned to be inline with the video card, it only it was :( if only....It's likly style this way to location the radiator in an air stream, and not covered by the video card.

Entirely silent (obviously). Is incredibly fantastic at what it does-- keeping the GPU and memory modules cool. None. I'm not a gamer, so all I need to have out of a video card is for it to hold quiet and supply decent video acceleration. When the fan on my HIS HD4670 started to go, this silent cooler turned out to be the excellent option. It fits fine inside my Antec Sonata II case.

Keeps your video card ice cold but only with a fan(s). Do not count on to retain this cooler passive if you are gaming. I already expected this even though so no biggie for me. I got this for my old 9800GTX that I am working with in a spare Pc and it does not go over 50C below full load even though overclocked and in the summer season ࿵F ambient) which is wonderful. -The (not)sticky thermal pads on the ram heatsinks do not perform at all. I had to use my personal adhesive.-The voltage regulator heatsinks are fairly substantially useless. Thermal pads do not stick, contact surface location is little which tends to make them cumbersome to set up particularly when grouped together, and this package did not come with enough of them for my 9800GTX Ƒ short). I utilized my personal. Not a massive deal as this card does not actually need to have them if you have a fan blowing on the voltage regulators (cold to the touch). Only docked 1 egg as an alternative of two only due to the fact of the value (cheap).

Right after that the temp stayed down. When it stays nonetheless the temp is around 46C ...but it never gone over 55C.....

I have an EVGA GeForce 8800GT that's fan was merely receiving way also loud. I installed this final night with a bit of skepticism and am really delighted. My card has not reached over 61c operating 3D at 1920x1080. This was on Age of Conan with graphics set to "High". I know the game isn't that new, but that's the newest a single I had to test. Also, I did not have problems with the ram or voltage regulator heatsinks like other individuals have. I wiped them clean with a microfiber cloth and then rubbed the top rated of every with an erasur per the directions. I held every on for about 10 seconds. I only let my card sit for about 30 minutes ahead of set up and use and absolutely nothing has fallen off. I guess time will inform. For the record, I applied a white eraser from a mechanical mencil, not the regular pink variety discovered on wooden pencils. Don't know if that tends to make a difference, but it could. Also also, I have a RAID card installed next to my video card and I surprisingly didn't have to move it. None.

The RAMsinks do work very well. Stick to the directions by rubbing the RAM with an eraser and you will have no difficulty with these adhering appropriately. The cooler is not working worth a darn. stock cooler 51ኢAccelero 80/failure...with two 80mm fans. Unless I am undertaking something terribly wrong and the heatsink is not sitting on the CPU effectively I believe this to be a horrible heatsink. Considering I've place on eight other VGA coolers and have built 20+ pc's I feel I'm carrying out it suitable...

Confirmed to match both Gigabyte 8800GT OC and HD4850 OC boards. Cools well if you have decent airflow in your case. Cools particularly properly when you put a 120mm fan blowing across it. Can drop temps by as considerably as 25F. Can get my HD4850 above 4870 speeds with gaming temps under 66F and idle temps at 42F. nothing at all to mention here Purchased 4 years ago for my 8800GT and then got HD4850 and it operates perfectly on that GPU as effectively. Amazing deal. Thanks Arctic Cooling.

It's fanless, so it's silent. It wasn't too hard to set up.It brought core temps on my 4870 from 60c to around 40c. THE RAMSINKS ARE A JOKE.Right after installing these correctly my Memory temps went UP to 100c-120c IDLE.Yes, I installed them appropriately, and I even attempted aftermarket Ramsinks (Since the ones incorporated have been so poor they in fact fell off) but that bearly brought it down to about 90c idle. It's the set up itself that's poor. Extended story quick, this factor KILLED my 4870, and because removing a stock cooler voids warranty, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I guess if you added fans, it would perform like it ought to, but that defeats the entire objective of a fanless Heatsink. If you have a weaker card that doesn't create a lot heat currently ,I guess this might be a fantastic selection for you. DO NOT Try THIS WITH A 4870 or something of related energy.

It does what it's supposed to really nicely, that is, it keeps my GPU temps fully under handle no matter what.Oh, and it's seriously inexpensive for its marketplace as far as I can see. It's tricky to set up and the RAM heatsinks fall off initially. As well wide for side fans. I've got an old 3870 and this extends a strong 1 1ǘ to two inches previous the best of the card. There is all of two centimeters of clearance between it the side of my mid-tower case. There's just no way to get a fan in there and, of course, you can't load a single on the outside due to the fact there's no way to energy it. A single of my RAM sinks fell off (I dunno how the chip survived that long without a sink on it...), but (unlike what some other guy mentioned) you don't have to touch the principal heatsink unit. Just get a pencil or a queue tip or a thing, attain on beneath there, and push the little sucker back on. I did this and it hasn't come off because (over a year now).
