Cons: Runs very hot.

Pros: Unlocked multiplier, decent price.
Comment:
Cannot really overclock it too much, otherwise it would lock, only able to overclock GPU to 760 with no CPU overclock

Lives up to expectations. Great for a PC that primarily plays multimedia. This APU can play games at low resolution. Price is great relative to performance. Haven't run into any issues (no over heating issues). I would recommend this to others and would purchase again.

This is a great processor especially for a multimedia PC. It has great graphic capabilities that will do some decent gaming for being integrated. I haven't run into any issues with this processor.

Cons: -Had problems with a msi bundle on ncix.

Pros: -fast for general use.-cheap-simple-onboard gpu

Got this as a replacement for my moms 9 year old Pentium 4 machine. Had problem with a bad MSI mobo for a couple of weeks, then paid a bit more of a Gigabyte one and everything worked like a charm.

Love this processor its fast and doesn't overheat if you are not over clocking. I don't like the heatsink that come with them always buy a aftermarket one for best results.

A perfect processor for high end budget builds. Picked this up in a bundle deal and built a complete machine, taxes in, for less than $350. Works great, Win 7 flys. Customer very happy with it.

Cons: Lack of mobo options

Pros: PriceGreat video for price
Comment:
Great CPU for its price and for a budget build. Plays some games on low-medium, which for $100 is amazing. Only issue with it is the lack of mobo options for this socket, I only found 5 FM1 mobo on ncix, unless another socket works for it in which case disregard this.

Pros: Great price, Fast, Built in grafix
Comment:
Can't believe the power of this chip with the built in grafix. The heatsink is a little taller than I wanted but works great and keeps cool. Leaves me the option to upgrade video later. Editing videos with AVS has increased 10 fold from using my laptop.

Cons: Linux installation issue (solvable).

Pros: Great bang for the buckDiscrete-level integrated graphicsRuns cool
Comment:
Bought this APU for a cheap build for my mom who only uses skype and the internet. Dropped it in a Gigabyte board with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD and an inexpensive Cooler Master case. Installed Kubuntu (KDE version of Ubuntu) and the proprietary Catalyst drivers and it runs like a dream.Note that when installing linux, grub boot options may need to be set to nomodeset and /etc/default/grub may need to be updated to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet nomodeset" and GRUB_GFXMODE=. Otherwise my monitor would go blank (in standby) when booting both the liveCD and post-installation.

Cons: Gets alittle to hot while gaming with stock cooling.

Pros: Very Fast, Efficent, easy to Overclock.

Overall, it's an amazing Processor. Usually with stock cooling, a user will probably be able to get 3.6ghz no problem.

Cons: 4 motherboard manufacturers to choose from and none of them have IDE connectors

Pros: Price vs Performance is excellent, great for a workstation and casual gaming, works great with Guild Wars 2, Adobe Premiere Elements 7
Comment:
Great choice for a workstation or casual gamer. Guild Wars 2 and Adobe Premiere Elements 7 both ran like a top. I would highly suggest getting Corsair 8Gb 1866 for better video performance. This is my 3rd build on this APU and planning on doing more.

Cons: CPU performance is mediocre.Included heatsink isn't good enough for 100% load.

Pros: InexpensiveGood graphics
Comment:
Basically the only reason I chose to go with this cpu is the price. Its good enough to play COD games and it just barely works with After Effects but everything else I do on it works perfectly. The main problem I've had with it is the temperature doesn't stop rising if its at full load...Otherwise it usually idles at about 32C.

Cons: none ... but I guess a better integrated GPU would be even better?

Pros: Cheap, fast, stable, easy to overclock

Everyone says it plays all recent games at 1080p with medium settings. I say you buy this CPU, a cheap MoBo and some RAM and you have a nice ESXi 5.0 Server!!!

Cons: AMD socket FM1;

Pros: Inexpensive for the processing power;Low electrical power draw;Good onboard video processor
Comment:
I used this to build my Dad a new computer for around $500 total. 6GB DDR3 RAM, 40GB Sata2 SSD, this AMD A8-3870 processor, mATX case, power supply, Windows 7.The AMD A8-3870 processor has onboard Radeon 6550D HD GFX, the onboard graphics of this computer are great for non-gamers, it drives a 1080p TV over HDMI or DVI without a problem. I didn't try any 3D, but I expect it would work well for slightly older 3D games, especially at lower resolutions.I wouldn't buy an AMD socket FM1 motherboard/processor for anything other than a low-cost, low-power build. So far it looks like there won't be much of an upgrade path for socket FM1 processors, but this build should last my Dad a half decade as it stands.

The entire Llano is an extremely well rounded APU for those who work with medium to low workloads as well as enjoy some light gaming. The A8-3870K is a great performer and overclocking it really opens it up to perform well in high-end games.

Pros: Good integrated graphics for light gamingDecent CPU for gamingGreat at multitaskingGood high-end HTPC option
Comment:
The IGP is good enough for most games on low-mid settings. It can even run some games with high settings. Currently the best IGP as far as I know. This will also work great for a high-end HTPC, although it's a little overkill. An A6 3650 or even A6 3500 would suffice.Recommended for light gaming builds.

Cons: crappy overclocker

Pros: Cheap for what you get, low power usage, 6550D graphics, unlocked multi.
Comment:
Was able to get it up to 3.5Ghz with a bit of voltage. 3.3 seems to be the max on default vcore. GPU core does about 800. Paired with at least 1600mhz ddr3, and you get a decent gaming rig on a budget. Assuming you OC the gpu and use fast ram, the gfx are almost equivelent to about a 240 GT, 9600GSO, 8800GS

Pros: Very cheap!DX11 High-end integrated graphics.Unlocked n unleashedreally fast in my opinion
Comment:
The integrated graphics in the apu is far better than any sandybridge processor. It can run DiRT 3 100+ FPS! You don't even have to chip in the money for a GPU, or get a mid-range gpu and put it in hybrid crossfire with it like I did, runs like a beast, overclocks like one also. Really surprised by the price.

Cons: -heatsink (i never use the oem ones for long anyways)

Pros: -Bang for buck-Scored 7400 CPU mark (Passmark) Stock clock-Decent GPU on board for casual gaming
Comment:
Pleasantly surprised with the CPU performance. It just outscored my QX9650 Extreme processor! I got a good bundle deal for the APU, MB and RAM. ($229.99) If that isn't value, I don't know what is. :)Will have to play with the GPU portion more, but I'm already happy with the CPU performance at the price point.
