Bought this with a new Asus motherboard and was have problems doing the preformance test that windows 7 64 bit has, I upgraded the bios to the latest and just loaded the default bios, it turned the cpu into a Phenom 11 X4 B35 --?? works fine so far with a terrific benchmark. Motherboard was a M4A785-M-- It now does the windows performace test with no problems. When the computer boots it says 4th core unlocked and has a 4 core pic.

Plugged it in, it works! Blows the old Core2Duo (1.6GHz) that I had out of the water. (Different system, btw) Manufacterer cooler is fine for stock speeds. I hear there's a new 3.0GHz model at the same price point.

This processor is great! It took about 30 seconds to install, and after install I was running Age Of Conan without a hitch! I also do a lot of multitasking with graphical and text programs, and this processor allows me to switch between them without delay, in real time!

Pros: Fast, fourth core stable when unlocked

Bought this for a build for my son, combined with an Asus M4A785TD-M-EVO M/B runs flawlessly after obtaining proper ram. I would recomend to anyone. Great deal for under $100.

If you look at any of the review sites, this actually out performs the older quads and the newer low end quads for a great savings. I have this one and it overclocks to 3.333 stable no sweat. Dont miss out its a screamer for a budget

Pros: Best bang for the buck. 2.9Ghz, ability to unlock 4th core.
Comment:
This is the best bang for the buck right now. If your lucky, with the right mobo, you can unlock the 4th core, whitch just make this cpu totaly worth every penny and then some. Even if your not luck enough to have one that has a stable 4th core, this damn thing is 2.9Ghz to start with, and you can easily oc this to 3.6 above on air.
