Crisp 1st time boot-up, third core is a solid improvement over a duel core. Stock processor idle temp was 18C in my cool basement. Prime 95 stressed temp 38C. Impressive Forth core X4 opened with M4A87TD/USB3 motherboardBUT !! Idle temp ZOOMED to 60C. Any anxiety testing created a large sudden improve... Sadly mine is a stunning three core only. I'm satisfied even though ! CPU heat sink fan utilized in create was "Freezer 64 Pro" outstanding cooler, WIN7

A lot quick with the three cores, 4rth core unlocked with an asrock matx mobo and WHAM-O i ended up with a phenom II x4 b55 for 50 bucks more affordable. TEMPS did raise a little bit but im not ocing so there fantastic. but seriously guys, the cpu was developed by engineers so who in the hell created the heatsink and fan? iv noticed cheap ahead of but sheesh! if your going to oc this puppy at all or dont have decent airflow in your case replace the stock HEATSINK AND FAN ASAP.ANTEC p180mini caseocz 600w modular psanthlon II X3 455 (unlckd to phen II X4 B55)ASROCK 890 gm pro mobomsi gtx 460 oc additiongskill pc31600 4gb

Low-cost, overclockable, secret 4th core None I have an MSI 880GMA-E45, which was also low-cost from Newegg, and it came with "core unlock" technology and an "OC Genie". Without having those, the processor was a respectable 3-core 3.3 GHz and a 6.9 on the Experience Index, but with them (two clicks on the BIOS), it's operating four-cores at 3.78, and scores a 7.four on the Expertise Index. For this cost, that's wonderful. You have to obtain this processor.

Rapid processor with three cores. I haven't tried unlocking the 4th core and almost certainly will not due to warranty. Is operating fantastic with on my Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H. Upgraded from a 3GHz Sempron and am satisfied with the benefits. None

Affordable. Overclocked to three.8Ghz with stock cooling. CPU by no means exceeds 51c beneath complete load working with prime95, really impressive. Fan is really quiet, unless your very picky. Yet another big plus for overclockers is that I didn't have to raise the CPU voltage AT ALL. So if your prepared to invest a tiny far more cash, invest in a fantastic CPU cooler for high overclock speeds. Not seriously a Con, but I did unlock the fourth core and if your not overclocking it should function just fine for you. Even so, If you are overclocking the benefits could not be acceptable. For me, a mild overclock (raised about .2) rendered the fourth core really unstable, and a somewhat higher overclock (raised about .four) crashed OS under full load within minutes. Not a massive deal to me although. I just deactivated the fourth core due to the fact clock speeds are greater on my priority list. Some thing worth noting for all you spending budget builders who want a totally free quad core: AMD released these Processors as triple cores mainly because they have been initially intended to be Phenom quads but have been unstable through testing. So unlocking the fourth core may well perform for some folks and not for other folks. Just a heads up.

Operates nicely. Uncomplicated core unlock with the ASRock M3A770DE motherboard it's in, which now thinks it's a Phenom II x4. It didn't install itself. I went with the XigmaTek Gaia SD1283 as an alternative of the included CPU cooler, so no worries about heat from the further core.

Unlocked forth core and is overclocked at 3.88Ghz on air cooling with an Artic Cooling Pro 7 fan and heatsink, the mobo, an Asus Crosshair Formula III board. Nada! Have this proc in a technique with a Saphire HD6850 graphics card. Ran for ten hours with Prime95 testing s/w without having a hiccup.

Very easily unlocked 4th core with mobo utility. Quick and reliable. None. No L3 cache, but then it's not a Phenom.Other individuals have stated that the stock heatsink and fan could be far better, but even with the unlocked core and running strain tests CPU temps remained properly in the regular range. That said, if you have a case that's not well ventilated, then heat may well be an situation.

3.3 out of the box i got mine to four.105ghz on water i would not sugest this to most simply because i burned out my last processor by taking it to far. it was the Athlon 440Ɠ. trip) i took it to three.eight for 6months then a single morning it just wouldent boot. stock heatsink i like to get cheep cpus mainly because i wont cry if i burn it up.for all of the gammers out there fewer cores withe higher ghz is far better unless you have alot of backround programs running. most games only use 2 cores

low valuesolid CPUUncomplicated instant core unlock (quad core at three.2Ghz) its not an i7 or AMD x6 bought this as reccomended by http://www.hardware-revolution.com/budget-gaming-pc-q4-2010/couldn't be happier combined with the ASRock midrange Mobo they reccomend it simply unlocks to a Quad core witha windows encounter score of 7.7 and 7.7 for CPU overall performance. I do reccomend an option to the stock cooling unit if you select to unlock that 4th core.

I chose this CPU for my spending budget (軸) gaming laptop. Did a ton of investigation and discovered that this athlon II x3 455 would be ideal for my demands. Biggest plus - I was capable to unlock a 4th core with the core unlocker on my motherboard. actually one particular click to unlock! By far the greatest worth out there, i run all my games on highest settings (sc2, hon, lol) and haven't had a dilemma with the unlocked core using normal heatsink and fan. Am arranging to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler and overclock this later on, but it currently offers me far more than adequate performance for my wants. Shipment also came seriously quick very really proposed with the unlocking and overclocking capabilities, this cpu's stock heatsink and cooler might not be enough for you. but considering that this cpu is so affordable, it shouldn't be a challenge to pick that up later Athlon II X3 455Asrock 870 Extreme3Asus directcu gtx 460Rosewill challenger situationRosewill 700W 80+broze psuKingston Hyper 2x2GB

Low-cost, rapidly, AMD, and don't tell, but it's essentially a x4 proc. One particular of the cores fell asleep in the testing stage and it looked so cute they let it sleep. You'll want a motherboard that can wake the lil guy up! Overclocks quickly and stable. None Mobo: ASUS M4A77TD, unlocked the 4th core, and OC'd with just a couple keystrokes, correct out of the box.

All I can say is wow. I just received this processor and with the flick of the core unlock switch on the Asus M4A88T-V EVO series motherboard(which is packed with options way better than I expected also and affordable贍.00) the processor became a black edition Deneb. and rated a 7.four on wei and that is at stock setting. My i7 920 is a 7.4 stock and it was way far more costly. So impressed and its smocking rapidly and cool. Get a heatsink the stock a single isn't extremely great but hey I didn't attempt the tiny guy so maybe it is immediately after all. Get this now why it final. Im ordering two additional. Wicked great saved me tons of income. none its life 80 percent much less cost than the other processors of the very same speed. It unlocks to a deneb black edition. Who cares about the cach its so quickly.........

Cons: not all AM2+ mobo's can unlock core

Pros: cheap, good upgrade for AM2+ boards, easy to overclock on stock cooler, can possibly unlock 4th core

Bought this as an upgrade from a Athlon 64 X2 5200+ using a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H.Was able to overclock by 400MHz to 3.7GHz. 27 degrees idle and 54 degrees under full load on all 3 cores with the stock cooler.Unfortunately my board doesn't have the SB710 or SB750 southbridge, which is required to unlock the 4th core.Awesome deal for the price!

The stock fan is absolutely nothing like the older Athlon fans. Had an old stock fan in the closet that worked.Couldn't have OC'd with out heat difficulties given the stock fan. Fantastic bang for the buck.

Incredibly quick per-core speeds. It was fast adequate that I didn't bother overclocking. With a decent motherboard, unlocking the hidden 4th core was as easy as enabling the alternative in the BIOS. Ran Prime95 for 24 hours and didn't have a hint of a dilemma. None. For the price, you're slightly quicker than the core speed of the Phenom II 955 chip, but you don't get the L3 cache. This was just for my common-purpose house computer system, so saving ์ was far more critical. It appears that most individuals have been able to successfully unlock the 4th core with no issues, but there are no guarantees that you will be in a position to. Even at 3 cores, this chip is really rapid.
