Cons: - stock heatsink isn't great- gets a bit hot when gaming (50-62C)

Pros: - cheap and affordable for a Quad budget build- super fast for the price- futureproofs your build for a few years- quality product as always from AMD
Comment:
bought this for my first modern build (previous comps had been celerons/semperons with 100GB storages and under 766MB of RAM :S) and it was a MASSIVE step up in speed, overall the best cheap quad core you can get (Intel really isn't that special in my opinion for the ridiculous price hike) plows through most tasks with ease, almost never ever lags the slightest and does most modern gaming pretty well!you *will* want to replace the stock heatsink with something better, AMD skimped on this one's, temperatures idle (when not using comp) around 41-46C in a room temperature room and 43-52C on full load, 48-62C when gaming depending on graphics levels.would purchase again, better than dual cores near the same price.

Cons: Not great at overclocking

Pros: Cheap, fast, incredibly useful
Comment:
I highly recommend this QUAD core processor for people who simply use their computer for daily activities such as email and word processing. It's a budget minded processor but great at what it does. I can't justify an i5 or i7 for the aforementioned purposes.

Cons: -for this price, none

Pros: -cheap-decent overclocker-AM3
Comment:
It's extremely cheap for a quad core. It's AMD's latest socket, AM3. It overclocks fairly well to 3.4GHz before the stock cooler isn't enough, even though this CPU runs cool. It gets 7.3 of 7.9 on Windows Experience Rating. I'd recommend for a low end gaming PC. Quad core doesn't mean it's amazing.

Cons: Low amount of cache so might suffer if you use it for gaming, but for a budget build it might even be overkill

Pros: Speedy processor, amazing for a budget build
Comment:
I love that I can get a quad core for $100. Almost overkill for the budget build I did, but I can imagine this lasting quite a while. Low amount of cache but I can't see that affecting the kind of tasks this build will go through.

Cons: Good CPU for OC, Wouln't do it with Stock Heat Sync. (To Small)

Pros: Great Multi-Tasking CPUTop Notch Video Conversion PerformaceRuns cool w/ Low Profile Heat Sync
Comment:
This is a great budget True Quad-Core CPU. Speed and stability are amazing. Properly cooled it can be overclocked quite high. I am very happy with this CPU and if they stay at a good price I will be purchasing more.

Cons: -Not as fast per core as an i5

Pros: -Price-Performance-Temps-Power consumption
Comment:
Can't beat these Athlon II X4's, in so many ways. They're highly affordable (cheapest quad-core currently out there?), pack a punch (fast enough per core, and have four of them), and run cool. (they idle close to ambient)The lack of L3 cache keeps their temps a few degrees cooler than Phenom II's. The reduced power consumption also puts less stress on your motherboard, so mosfets and stuff are less likely to burn out. These CPUs are perfect for high performance Office/Web builds. Just toss in a videocard and they can do games too.If you have a task that is primarily serial in nature, you should examine CPUs with a faster per-core speed - but these are more than adequate for anything most users will throw at them, including all the new games.

Cons: Heatsink is annoying to install

Pros: Affordable, fast
Comment:
My first AMD processor, and I'm quite satisfied. Great bang for your buck, although you won't be using this for any gaming. I bought this for a budget build, and it's been great so far. Very quick, and handles multitasking quite well. The fan was a little hard to install, I had to push so hard on the metal mounting bracket that I thought I was going to break it, but it went on. The fan is also pretty loud, which is expected from a stock heatsink though.

Bought this for a friend's build. These are great entry level quads. The cooler is really small. Guess that says a lot about the heat output.

Pros: Quad core for $100 bucks? Awesome. I am not an overclocker so keep that in mind but this CPU is fantastic. Economy choice for those wanting a quad core like me. Very stable, installs easily. Very cool, low voltage reqs. Awesome! Went with this one for the cache change.

Great CPU for budget PCs. I used to have a dual core running at 2.1GHz, so I've seen a great improvement in CPU-expensive tasks. For example, converting a 1-hour movie to DVD and burn used to take me 1.5 hours and now only takes < 30 min. No problems running starcraft 2 on high settings online! Temps usually hover around ~40 C with my one fan on case.

Cons: No L3 cache, could use better HSF

Pros: Quad-core on the cheap, cool running. even compatable with some old AM2 boards.
Comment:
Over all this is a great deal for a budget PC build or HTPC. Even my old M2A-VM v1.0 supported this baby with a BIOS flash. I was re-doing a Debian based server I use also as a Folding machine. The machine used to have a older Athlon dual-core and for the same TDP it now has a quad. While I am not sure the lack of a L3 cache is a issue for gaming or photo-editing. For everyday use I have not seen any drawback to lack of the L3. Overall if your looking to go Quad but not break the bank and gaming is not a priority this is a great bang for the buck CPU as most AMD cpu's are.

Cons: no L3 cashe but not a big deal ..

Pros: Easy to install, price, fast and powerful

I'm very happy with this boy, I was building a budget PC basically for everyday use, photo editing, and some video editing .. all my components were bought from ncix. This CPU runs cool even with the stock cooler, around 22C when idle and the max I noticed was 38C having a zillion tasks running (winrar, online video streaming, photoshop running..).didn't really try to overclock but planning to give it a try soon. Got this CPU on sale for about 100$ .. Seriously, I would definately buy this one again.
