I upgraded my Compaq from an AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor. Windows 7 Experience Processor score went from 6.3 to 7.three. System functions considerably quicker. Only difficulty was that the CPU fan connection was four prong, but the motherboard connection was a 3 prong. HP's details, CPU directions and AMDs web page didn't say what to do. I emailed AMD consumer help, which stated to insert the fan connection with the 4th pin hanging off--the fan really should operate fine. The 4th pin is not required to enable the fan to function; it just adds some more energy state attributes accessiable through BIOS. One sentence in the directions would have helped a lot. Not a Newegg issue, so no points deducted.

+ Price tag for a x4 core at three.1 GHz+ AMD Virtualization+ Overclockable, I have it operating at 3.44 GHz correct now on stock fan, in all probability will mess with it much more with greater fan(s) in the future. None Soon after six years to ultimately let go of my AMD Athlon 64 with it's 2GB DDR companionship, I can actually tell you what a difference this buy has made. Due to the fact I do a lot of video conversion, graphic design and play a few games here and there, I can honestly tell you that this by far is the greatest CPU for the income that you can get if you're in a spending budget. In fact, I was fortunate sufficient to acquire this for only 贌 instead of 贜 back in October's CPU unique. Originally at that time, I was going to get the 640 for ๳ but when I saw the special for this 645, I figured I could get AMD Virtualization and 100GHZ for ű much more, so what da hell...why not? and it's been a excellent investment and under is an example of the difference it has made:Video conversion for 1hr 30 mins film.Old AMD Athlon 64 + 2GB DDR = 6-8 HrsNew AMD X4 645 + 4GB DD3 = 30-45 Mins Ɣ core procedure)Audio conversion varies in between formats but I mostly use FLAC and MP3FLAC = 40 SecsMP3 @ 320 CBR = 1 sec

A. Great value/performance ratio! It was < 贎 (minus a little bit since of a combo deal) for a strong quad-core at 3.1 Ghz.B. It runs at 34* right here in Del Rio, Texas (desert and hot like none other) and even cooler at evening time.It does what I want it to: rapid online browsing, moderate gaming with SC2, Sims3, and DragonsAge, and generating documents. A. Limited overclocking versus other quad-cores (but soon after all, it IS cheaper by a considerable amount)None really to it. It is barely a 贄 with a combo deal for a speedy quad-core A. Like I stated before, not as great as other quad-cores in terms of attempting to overclock. I feel Intels new i7 2600K and similar are a lot much better at that (at a Significantly steeper value although)B. I hope AMD fights back Tough with a thing over the top rated of spiffy sounding "i3,5,7-2600k" terminology that tends to make 80% of the folks pee their pants over inflated rates of related goods...

I have this in an ASUS MOBO. I am shocked at how a lot it could be OC'd. I have it up to three.4 with no heat troubles. None so far Stock Heatsink/Fan is smaller. I would hugely advise upgrading the Stock Heatsink/Fan.

- I just cant think how rapid this thing is =D- for the cost i just dont believe there is a superior proccesor i mean iv been useing it for gamming and it handles it all with no bottlenecking from my 5870 video card. -none - The stock cooler was pathetic but it does function.- I did not OC it and my case is nicely cooled and it stays in mid 40C beneath load.

This factor is way rapidly, and really cold. Complete load runs around 30c and idle about 23c. Haven't tried overclocking this however, but from what I've read in the other testimonials it shouldn't be hard. El zilcho. CPU fan : Thermaltake SpinQ

-in the past four months, this 645 has some haulin' speed alright... With the promo, it was around the same price as the 640 (贄)-Significantly Much better price tag/performance more than the other brand's related and a lot more high-priced quadcores -no much more promos :( I would get the 635 or 640 since it is a small less expensive and you can very easily overclock it 10% or more with a โ-70 mobo to hit the 645 efficiency... but I'm not complainng

Performs totally wonderfully, and easily overclocks on air with no complications concerning either it's temperature or voltage.mine is happily running at 3.41Ghz @ 28*c(idle)-36*C(full load) on air with no issues even though i can't speak for the stock heatsink i am certain it would execute adequately for stock frequencies. I currently use a Xigmatek Dark Knight and have utilised numerous on other builds and buddies rigs i highly advise it for this chip as i have not been disappointed with temps. Cons? What cons? you will totally appreciate this purchase, as the only point CLOSE to being regarded as a con is a lack of L3 cache but if you want that go for a Phenom II. I am specific this chip could quickly get to 3.5Ghz on air cooling with a straightforward voltage increase.

I purchased this as an upgrade to my stock amd athlon ii x2. It keeps really cool and doesnt seem to go above space about 85F. This card operates effectively for games like wow that demand a tiny bit of processor power. The fan it comes with is a bit loud through boot up.

* rapid, stable, smart, affordable * the sticker doesn't say 'X4' on it Initially I had a K2-333, then later a K3-400, later an Athlon 750, later an Athlon XP 2600. The 2600 served me just fine until not too long ago when it came time to do heavy AVCHD editing and x264 encoding.Just put, this chip is ridiculously quickly as compared to my 2600. I suspect some of that has to do with the reality that what was the moment calculated on a software program level, is now difficult coded into the 645's hardware instruction set.Thank-you AMD. Carry on.

Affordable, powerful and CoolRegular temps had been 28c idle, 39c load, 61c max loadi overclocked it 8% utilizing the bios' oc profile 񢞔mhz)oc temps 39c idle, 52c load, 71 max load It could be one thing i'm performing, but when I benchmark with sandra, my personal computer freezes up for about ten mins even though it's testing the processor. I opted for the rushed delivery on eggsaver and got all my parts 10 am subsequent day.

Me and my friend each bought a single for our identical builds, works great. Got them on sale for 99 and couldn't be happier. I upgraded from a Pentium D 820 and boy this thing is nice. Folks may well tell you to wait for Bulldozer or get a Sandy Bridge at this point, but if you're on a price range, don't hesitate. This factor will much more than make you pleased. Converting, encoding, archiving, gaming, all of these things are exceptional with this processor. Don't let the price tag fool you, this is an great chip and it can OC fantastic as well to garner some extra life out of it, although I haven't with mine but and you shouldn't have to. blah blah blah L3 cache, blah blah blah for this cost who cares. There are no cons for what this is.

It appears that AMD advanced the heat sink efficiency. Making use of Arctic Silver as the thermal paste, Core-Temp show the CPU is running at 20C in idle inside V4 Black situation. It did not run full test but I am pleased on it. For x4 cores CPU in about 贄, it has additional performance than what I need... no con. AMD must assume about advance the thermal paste. My old AMD x2 read about 50C at idle utilizing original paste. All my DIY computers are employing AMD CPU, no difficulty at all, in no way assume about Intel.

Run Quite cool, even with stock cooler. With an aftermarket cooler you'll be shocked at how cool it runs. This thing begs to be overclocked. At stock voltages you can overclock a fair quantity; crazy over voltages not needed. For the cost, none. What a good bargain, specially when you take into account how quickly you can overclock it.
