Cons: Macro lighting is a different colour - feels like it breaks the continuity of the keyboard

Pros: Excellent feel for typingBacklighting is functional and controllableDetatcheable numpadSoftware is functional - not flasy
Comment:
I purchased this keyboard after an excellent experience with the Sidewinder mouse. My eye was drawn to it by its backlighting, relatively small size and surplus macro keys (not that I have found a use for all of them). The major decision behind purchasing it was the inclusion all of the above features plus a palmrest.

Cons: No covers for opened sidesHuge control knobs

Pros: BacklitFull keyboardLotsa Macrokeys
Comment:
This keyboard has so many macro buttons. its insane. I mainly use them for buying scrips in counter strike. The led backlights go through the keys and are pretty darn bright. The keys feel decent and the wrist mount is acceptable. The movable keypad is an excellent idea except that there is no cover for them so eventually dust will get into the sides of the keyboard and the keypad. Media keys are standard and work as intended but the knobs are just ridiculously huge and unnecessary.

Cons: None at all

Pros: Red LED, Macros, Detachable keypad, look + feel
Comment:
Let me start off by saying this is an excellent keyboard. It has a bunch of macro keys that I actually use for passwords and WoW (LOL. The red LED looks fantastic at night.Detachable keypad can be put on the left side for more macros or on the right side for regular use. As well, let me add that microsoft are geniuses for putting the calculator button where it should be: above the numpad. Detachable keypad can be removed for extra desk space which is a feature I like. The keyboard looks and feels great and is worth the 50 bucks I bought it for.

Cons: wrist rest is not removable.

Pros: modular design, great backlighting, good quality.
Comment:
I bought this a week ago to replace my aging logitech g11 and I have to say the quality is surprisingly good, possibly even better than that of my logitech. The backlighting is very crisp and easily changed to your liking. plus the removable numberpad is a godsend and allows me to have my mouse right next to the keyboard whereas the logitech was too long for them to fit on the same surface. All in all I have no real complaints about this purchase.

Cons: -Larger than standard spacebar length (minor but, trust me, it takes getting used to)-No legs for adjusting keyboard height

Pros: -Rearrangeable Numpad (which can become a macro bank)-Adjustable backlight brightness-Standard Insert/Home/Pg Up/etc. layout, unlike some of the modern Logitechs.
Comment:
Firstly, buy this somewhere else. This keyboard isn't worth $75, unless you want it to be. Other e-tailers will sell for under $50.The keyboard is great, having tons of macro buttons is nice, but you can also switch macro banks via a button up by the F keys; you can set three different banks. The num pad can be attached on the left or right side, which is useful. When using it as a macro bank, it glows orange instead of red.The num pad is attached by small magnets and snaps into place. All other features work as advertised, but I would suggest getting the newest driver software from Microsoft's website. The software CD this comes with is essentially an outdated coaster. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-11-10 02:47 PM

Cons: None. It would be great if Microsoft would offer other attachments where the number pad goes, like a small touch screen.

Pros: Software is easy to useVolume knob is great for volume controlLighting is very nice and visibleLots of Macro buttons
Comment:
I have had this keyboard for about a month. Typing on it is great and feels comfortable. A few people complain about the missing feet, but this is really not that big an issue. The keys can be easily seen in the dark and I think the red looks cool even though most PC stiff comes with blue lighting.

Cons: -No height adjustment feet-No lighted reference point for the volume and light knob-Non-removable palm rest-Color adjustment is limited to gaming mode

Pros: -Adjustable lighting-Volume knob-Detachable num-pad
Comment:
To manufacture a (pricey) keyboard in 2009 without including some form of height adjustment and/or detachable palm rest is plain stupid; Microsoft should know better!!!There is not any kind of lighting for those two big knob (volume & light), so if you use your keyboard in complete darkness, you will have to "feel your way around".Key stroke are short and almost silent, and that might or not be a plus for some users.USB wire is very stiff.Don't bother installing the included software but download the most recent one on Microsoft Hardware web site.Overall a good keyboard so far, except for the palm rest, height adjustment and knob lighting which need real improvement.

Cons: -The Esc key and all teh F keys are shifted down so it takes a couple hours of use to get use to-When playing fps games that use Ctrl for crouching, hitting the key is a little hard as i lean my hand to press teh key because the key is kinda low-no feet at the back to tilt the keyboard forward, so it lays flat

Pros: -Looks amazing-Keys have a nice feel and press to them-lights can be controlled-many macros and gaming features
Comment:
The is a very nice keyboard from microsoft. It is awesome for games but unfortunatly pressing ctrl + w + r (crouch, forward, and reload) doesn't work. The keys will take a little while to get use to, but it does feel good with positive feedback. The gaming features are amazing, including 3 profiles, and several macro keys, as well as recording macros on the fly, and the run key which is REALLY usefull in RPGs. one thing that i don't like is the crappy software that comes with the keyboard. while it gets the job done, it takes a while to get your keyboard to do what you want it to. This is a very nice keyboard if you can buy it on sale and you don't want to spend 100 on the G15. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-16-09 10:45 PM

Cons: Placement of escape key and F1-F12 is shifted leftward which is difficult to get used toCannot hold in control + forward + r to reload while crouching and moving in fps games. This one is a killer, though holding multiple other keys works fine.No feet to adjust the keyboard, so it more or less lays flat

Pros: Volume knob is excellent, as is the on screen display in windowsOverall typing experience is good despite looking like a laptop keyboardMacro functionality and software are excellent, cruise control works as intended to allow you to hold in up to four buttons without holding them inBacklight is the best I've seen and is controlled by a knobMedia keys play/pause, back, forward, mute are placed wellPlace numpad on Left or Right or not at all to save space
Comment:
This keyboard is good, but a bit disappointing in that I am unable to reload while crouching and moving, something that happens a lot in fps games. I have used the keyboard extensively for two weeks and still am not completely used to the strange placement of the f-keys. Plenty of macro keys, the ability to detach the numpad for use on either side, and a volume knob are all very attractive features however. If you don't mind committing to a keyboard with a non standard layout and the reload problem wont bother you than there is little reason not to get this keyboard.

Cons: None

Pros: Flexible and well built.
Comment:
Ask anyone around the office. FA has a keyboard fetish. For years I would only use the (in)famous IBM Model M keyboards - noisy but built like a tank. That is until this one, which while not as well built, has a nice satisfying feel to it. Add to that the modular keypad, the backlit keys, a host of knobs and extra function keys, makes this my new favorite.

Comment:
NCIX comes through and orders this keyboard for me after 6 weeks. The main reason I bought this keyboard is the keypad. I can attach it to the left side so the letters are more centered. I'm still learning to use the pad with my left hand. Typing on it feels really good cause the keys are very precise and snappy providing good tactile response. This is something different from the G15 crowd and I'm very happy with it.
