TP Link Archer C2 AC750 Dual Band AC Gigabit Wireless Router

Very satisfied with this router. The range is good for my small house. Wireless seems stable so far, no disconnection.

This router gives great performance at this price point. Including AC750 into the package is a plus, especially at this price point. I would not however recommend this product for anyone with large range requirements or high throughput. You get what you pay for plus a little bit more.

I tried for an hour to install the TP-Link Archer C2 (version 1) AC750 by using the Resource CD but the installation always failed. Several hours later, I discovered in the TP-Link User Guide (pdf), in Appendix A: FAQ, paragraph 2 w page 125, that, to use the Archer C2 (version 1) AC750 with a cable modem, I needed to clone the MAC (Media Access Control) information from the modem. I then combined some instructions from the Guide’s section 3.2 (pp. 11-13) with the instructions on page 125 to effect the cloning and to activate the router. Since the activation, the router has performed well.The current firmware has an easy-to-follow process for updating but my attempt to update  was unsuccessful.Third-party firmware for the Archer C2 AC750 is unavailable because the device has not been available for long.

Comment:
It works good, my home network is much snappier and it was easy to setup, but this thing only has a one meter power cord.It has a sideways AC plug so it blocks the other plugs on my ups, but that's not really a problem because the power cable is too short!It was 6 inches too short. I had to install a power bar closer to the router and the cable is still too short to fit in my cable run.Some people like to have tidy cables TP-Link!A one meter power cord for a wifi router is inexcusable.
