Cons: hardware ID issue causes sound card detection problems on some machines. (remaining cards on market should not have this problem)

Pros: Awesome sound, better than Xonar DX, included headphone amp.
Comment:
Well, I am happy to say that the Auzentech Bravura I received does not have the detection issues that some people have experienced. It is a shame that Auzentech ended up having this issue on this awesome sound card. I spoke with an Auzentech representative. It appears that the majority of Bravura cards left on the market are free of this problem. The problem I speak of is the issue of windows not seeing the sound card on start up. Now, let us talk about the sound. Well, I have compared this card with the Xonar DX that I also own, and I have to say that the Bravura sounds better. Right out of the box, the Bravura has a much wider soundstage, and more detail from top to bottom. The Bravura has a much warmer midrange as well. The bass on the Xonar DX extends slightly lower, but the Bravura has a much more controlled bass response. Another note worth mentioning is that the Bravura does have a fairly airy top end though, which some people may not like. Running the card to my Harman Kardon AVR 3600 (a warm sounding receiver) offers a very balanced sound. The headphone amp on the Bravura is driving my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones quite nicely. This card is just packed with features. For anyone who owns this card, I would suggest using the modded PAX creative drivers as well. You will notice an improvement immediately. I have to give this puppy 5 stars. At the current price of 80 bucks, there is nothing else that compares at this price point. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-03-13 08:40 PM

Cons: It kinda works but not completely. I cannot get the microphone to record at proper level. It records at -12dB. And I dont know how to fix that. Recording ANYTHING is not easy to setup.

Pros: It kinda works but not completely. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Cons: Drivers had problems sometimes but worked out after a while.

Pros: Works, Audio quality is goodPurchased multiple cards for various computers without hardware problems.
Comment:
I never had any unsolvable problems with this card so far. The audio quality is very good and it hasn't died in a 24/7 online system and some other "critical" use applications.I did have problems when I installed it on one computer where the driver never seemed to "stick" and the card would go missing after a while. Re-installing the driver would fix it but then it would vanish afterwards. After messing with the driver installation and doing it a lot it eventually decided to stick around and I've never had problems since.

Cons: doesnt work completely.

Pros: it works. when it does, it works.
Comment:
for $120 purchase you'd think auzentech did all their QA behind the scene, heck no.Apparently there's this Hardware ID issue that when they wrote the EEPROM, something went wrong. At the time of installation Windows might see a different ID then intended.they do offer a DVD bootable patch, but then it might not work was well as for me, it revert back to generic HD Audio afterward.better buying cheaper Xonar if I were you.cant find reciept number so i can only give it 3 stars.this thing deserves 2 stars. lousy product support, as you can see, there are others that have the same problem and auzentech doesnt even have this issue on FAQs. They didnt even follow up on their own forum.DO NOT BUY!

Cons: work on certain systems but not all, NO SUPPORT AT ALL FROM AuzenTech so far.

Pros: never worked so I don't know
Comment:
I have to RMA and loose more than $30. I've been trying all day to make it work on my i7 sabertooth system ,windows 7 64.So,anyway, if you buy this, you might end up with an expensive RMA. Auzuntech products don't have any support at all ( well maybe i'll receive an answer in ! month or 2 but no luck so far) I should of red the reviews here, since many people got the same problem.DON'T BUY THIS.

Cons: When my PC is switched off for a few hours and then I turning it on, the soundcard is recognize as "High definition auidodevice" and there will be no sound from my speakers. But when I restart the PC, the soundcard is recognize as Bravura 7.1 and everything works fine. So, everytime I must start the PC twice before I can use the soundcard. See other customs who got same problems: http://community.auzentech.com/node/594and http://community.auzentech.com/node/501

Pros: Clear sound if it works

Cons: None at this price point.

Pros: Headphone amp, nice software tuning suite, awesome look, gold plating, quality sound (far superior to my Audigy).
Comment:
I upgraded from a SB Audigy (low profile model), and the difference is night and day. Clarity is such that my music has become more than the usual treat to listen to. Having a very fine sense of hearing, I can't begin to explain how pleasant it is to experience sharper notes and clearer feedback. Output to the headphones via the 1/4 inch jack is just plain awesome. You get some serious volume with a decent headset.I know that I'd benefit even more so if I had better headphones. I plan on indulging to take full advantage of this card.Highly recommend.

Cons: Took some tweaking to get the audio perfect. Had to turn on monitoring of the S/PDIF to prevent occasional popping, had to turn off the CMSS-3D in order for windows sounds to not clip. Not a big deal once it was fixed and personally I think that is Creative's fault for making junky audio effects which are pointless anyway.

Pros: Finally someone designed a good PCIe sound card. Great audio playback, tons of tweaking options (including swappable OPAMPs), huge variety of outputs, more bandwidth than PCI cards, and FINALLY a PCIe card with an internal S/PDIF out IO for pumping audio into my nVidia graphics card. Yes this card works with nVidia's DVI/HDMI 2 pin jack. Just make sure your default audio out is set to S/PDIF once the internal 2 pin cable is hooked up. Then all you have to do is plug in a DVI to HDMI cable in your DVI video out. I love finally being able to watch all my HD media on my TV and without having to run a separate audio cable! Also love the fact that the default rear output for headphones is a quarter inch jack for my studio headphones (don't worry "normal" headphone jack converter included). Also includes a mic preamp IO mode which is awesome! Fits in any PCIe (x1,x4,x8 or x16) slot, so I don't have to worry about upgrading motherboards down the road
Comment:
If you are looking to ditch PCI and make the switch to PCIe, buy this card. If you are looking to use nVidia's 2 pin DVI/HDMI connector, buy this card. Don't even waste your time with anything else. The amount of features on this card is amazing for the price. Fatality has nothing on this card.

Cons: none so far

Pros: far better quality then my pci Auzentech. so far no other component has compared connected via toslink.
Comment:
bought this for a htpc build and only had pci-e slot available. was in back to school sale so was a good deal. my regular system has a pci card from same company. this one is the best i have ever used. no other component connected to my receiver has given me this good a quality. there is a new dts driver out as of july 30/2010 for vista/7 systems.

Pros: Noise reduction works well
Comment:
This sound card is very good for people who want to get a great sound quality without paying the hight price of big sound card, over 300$. I recomend it for people who like to do some little sound project like me.

Cons: EAX 4.0, not really a big oneCreative-based drivers

Pros: Replacable op-amps, dedicated headphone jack, fully compatible with Windows 7, X-FI/EAX where still used, adjustable ground
Comment:
Paired this with a Sennheiser HD 555 on Windows 7 x64. A major improvement over the Realtek onboard audio before. Audio is much clearer and sharper than what I had before - music is much more defined, and you can hear much more depth. The EAX on this card is emulated, so for gaming, look to the Auzentech Forte for true EAX and EAX 5.0, where it is still used. In my opinion, this card is best suited for the home audio/audiophile who doesn't want to waste space by buying an independent DAC.Cool feature I noted is the interchangable ground, which allows you to ground the card to either the case or the PCI-E bus. Out of the box, there was no electrostatic interference, despite mounting this directly beside a GTX 275, so I just left it as is.Great card, well worth the $120.

Cons: Requires software install for mic to work (Win7). No biggy.

Pros: Puts out good sound.Runs great with Win7.
Comment:
Best sounding sound card I have ever owned. But then again, 120$ is the most that I have paid for one so I would expect higher performance. Before this I had a creative value PCI card and had to move to PCI-E because of Motherboard problems; glad I did.Cheers. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-15-10 05:05 AM

Cons: Creative's typical shotty drivers.

Pros: Headphone Amp, Replaceable Opamps, High End Quality, Colour-coded ports (unlike most other Auzentech products), X-Fi/EAX support.
Comment:
Really impressed with this card so far. If you have any sort of high end headphones (I have Sennheiser 555's for example) - you'll notice a massive quality jump by using this card and its 1/4" headphone jack.In addition - this card seems really geared towards audiophiles and home theater fans. It does have EAX support for gaming and sounds just fine but there are better cards out there in this price range for gaming alone.Highly recommended for those with a music and video focus.
