Very good price / quality ratio compare to higher end ones (mean the brand with the half eated fruit as a logo )I bought it for my daughter, she really enjoy it ( she now leave my laptop !!!) but need to charge it almost evry day (about 1.5 h use/ day)

Cons: Lack of appsLack of free appsLimited compared to android devices which cost less

Pros: It looks nicePrice

As far as being a tablet, It's OK if you dont mind having to pay for the few apps you have to select  from. A simple ereader would have been great, but the free variants are terrible, and the kobo app doesn’t allow you to import books you haven’t bought through the store. Which it has no problem doing on android devices...It looks nice, and works great for browsing the web, But I feel a sub $150 android device would be a far greater deal, with more functionality. I much rather the vast selection of free apps compared to the playbooks small selection of paid apps which may or may not be worth while. This will be my first and last blackberry product. The competition is just to far ahead of these guys. This review was modfied by poster p 04-30-12 12:28 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 04-30-12 12:19 PM

Got this as a gift for my mom and she loves it. It lets her check facebook, email and do basic web searches. She doesn't need anything more.

I bought this just before the OS update  and Hoped the update  would pay off and it did. The operating system is smooth and easy to navigate and now it has native email and android apps. I've been noticing new apps daily and they have gone through Rim's QC process. I've owned two other tablets including a Samsung and they have nothing on this. Sure you could buy a Ipad but you'll pay WAY more and for the difference gain incrementally. Try one and unless your a Apple Junkie you won't be disappointed.

Cons: lack of software apps, slow Wi-Fi file transfer, price

Pros: well built, excellent OS
Comment:
After the HP WebOS disaster, it's pretty obvious that nobody wants to be odd man out in the tablet wars. iOS and Android are the safe choices, which is really too bad for the PlayBook - a remarkably good device in its own right. I've been using one for months, and find the quality of construction to be top-notch. The OS is also rather good, too - slicker than Android and just as powerful, and, not surprisingly, vastly superior to iOS, in endless small ways.Of course, the OS is just a way of launching apps, and it's here that the PlayBook looses its edge. The BlackBerry Marketplace is low on just about any type of app. For example, I wanted a good all-round e-book reader, and had essentially just one choice. (Turns out to be a pretty good one, fortunately.)The only other flaw I've found is that USB connection to a PC requires RIM's custom drivers. This shouldn't be necessary - tablets really should just plug and play as memory keys. You can also transfer by Wi-Fi, but this is insanely slow (overnight for a few gigabytes of videos, for example).Despite the PlayBook's many strengths, it's hard to recommend over a comparably-priced Android tablet. On the other hand, if RIM was willing to low-ball the price, the PlayBook could still be a major contender.
