Buyers should be aware that this is a drive only. It does not include a SATA cable or blue ray player software. You will need to purchase this. This player does work fine with Adobe Encore CS3. I can record blueray disk but I can't play them back in my computer. This can be cured once I purchase the player software. The drive is quite and fast.

I've owned several internal CD and DVD burners, but this is my first Blu-Ray unit. I popped it in my desktop PC, fired up Windows 7 (64-bit), and the drive came to life immediately, recognized by Windows no problem. I had a video project in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 ready to go, so I sent the output as Blu-Ray to the burner (using the newer Verbatim LTH Blu-Ray media), and within minutes of installation I had my first Blu-Ray video project. Since that day I haven't made a coaster yet, the drive has been great. CDs and DVDs burn flawlessly as well. What also impresses me in the hardware itself, the tray and eject motor sound and feel very smooth and solid. Great drive, highly recommended. I gave 5 stars to all categories except value (which I did 4 stars there), simply because there will be a day when BD-R drives will be 49 bucks. But for me it wasn't worth the wait, glad I got this model over other brands. BTW, I got 10% off using the Bing search. Try it!

A vary good product from Pioneer. Comes in a brown box but well packed. NO SOFTWARE. Do not buy this unless you want to or already have invested in software for this. Not cost effective to buy seperately. Apart from that, blistering speeds is all I can say.

This Pioneer replaces a Lite-On Blu-ray player burner which I was never happy with. The Pioneer does everything I expected from the Lite-On but never got. Does everything as advertised.

This site makes it easy to obtain; SATA makes it easy to install; Pioneer makes it easy to use and grow into. That is, some of the features of this drive don't even exist yet in readily available media. Really nice, quiet, backward-compatible drive!

First, before I say how great I think this drive is. Kudos to TD for making it affordable and taking great care in getting this drive to me in Primo condition. Now on to the drive. Fast Quiet Did I say fast Pioneer quality Detected by Windows 7 right out of the Chute. If you are looking for a Blu-Ray drive, this is the one to have. TD prices are better than anyone's at this time. Order it if in stock, if not, wait. TG makes it worth your while

I ordered this drive to add Blu-ray functionality to my Dell XPS M1330. I already had an enclosure and eSATA card. Windows detected it and it worked right out of the box. It works great for Blu-ray movies, and the speed makes it great for backups. It is a great product, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to add a Blu-ray drive to their machine.
