Had it for a few weeks and everything has been perfect. No coasters. Installed automatically into Windows 7 64 bit. No need to install the included software that wasn't rated very good anyway. I have a full version of Nero Multi 10 and it works great. This is the one to buy in my opinion.

This burner does everything it is supposed to, but to anyone who needs clarity, make sure the type of media you buy to record on is supported. Most is but as always with any electronic recording device, some is better than others and for good reason.

Had no problems installing software on Vista 32-bit. Went from box to burning BD-R DLs in under an hour. Good bang for the buck.

I had lots of problems with the Cyberlink software accompanying this drive. That's the reason for low rating. SW must be installed from BR drive or it won't even recognize blu-ray (BR) capacity. I had and have other problems with this sw too on XP Pro syst. Cyberlink won't talk to you and no one else knew anything useful. If you have other software that works with BR, you may not have these problems. Once I got software working, drive worked fine. Installed in Vantec external NexStar DX enclosure.

This burner work great with window 7. Just like any other things as long as your motherboard support Bluray burner. The product is assembled in Japan. This product sold out fast !

I've had this drive for about a month now and it's great. Installed in a Windows 7 box and didn't need to use the driver CD. Also didn't use the Cyberlink player software that came with it as the general consensus in forums is that it sux. Bought ArcSoft Total Media Theatre and couldn't be happier. I produced two coasters on in my first burning attempts, but it was my fault - didn't have the burner set to the right profile for blu-ray (UDF 2.5!) After that it's been sweet. Rips and burns with the drive are fast and perfect. Couln't be happier with the purchase - of coures it could have been cheaper!

A great piece of equipment! Simply remove your old burner then plug your SATA power and data cables into the Blu-Ray burner and your off. My first burn seemed a little tricky because thrid party software is needed to back up your protected Blu-Ray discs but is easily located on the internet. A perfect copy! It does take a while to read and then copy - but then again there is an enormous amount a data to be written. I'm very happy with this purchase and I'm not even a computer wizard. So easy even a caveman could do it.

I bought the Pioneer BDR-205 Blu Ray Burner and the Vantec Enclosure SATA to USB 2.0 and it works great. So far I have burned about 20 BD-R at 4x and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to burn. I have burned DVD at 8x and it takes about 5-8 minutes to burn. This is great since I have the burner in an enclosure I can take it anywhere I want with my laptop and play movies.

works like a charm, I have one suggestion you might want to offer the option of purchasing the cables to hook it up to your system.
