Cons: None so far....

Pros: Relatively easy to set up, lots of options, works well.
Comment:
If you want a way to share an internet connection, network your computers together, AND do it while using a more secure WIRED connection, this is an excellent choice in routers.I've had a couple of these over several years, and they're really fairly easy to setup, i.e. at least with our cable connection it's almost as simple as plugging it all in and turning it on. If you want to tinker with the settings, to set up your own server(s), number of computers on your network, or several other things, then you will most likely need to consult the manual, but the settings also have a basic online explanation.I've tried at least 3 other brands of similar type routers, and I still prefer the user interface of this router - it's just well laid out to be relatively simple, yet has tons of options for those that need to configure their network for other tasks.

Cons: No WiFi, not much to customize for it

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, easy to set up
Comment:
This is an excellent router if you only need 2-4 computers/consoles connected to it and they are all wired. It is easy to set up and largely hassle free. If you are an inexperienced user, this is definitely the router for you. If you are a more experienced user looking for some customization, I suggest one of the newer models

Cons: Not easy to setup. I had to RESET 2 times before getting it to work.

Pros: Good ventillation. Small transformer. Clear explanations.
Comment:
One thing that we all have to remember and it is that sometimes you have to REBOOT the computer (Windows XP) for the connection to work the first time. Otherwise the setup keeps saying that it cannot connect to the router/switch. The second computer setup was very easy: Plus and play; I did not have to reboot the second computer.

Cons: had to reconnect it a couple of times

Pros: desent for a good price
Comment:
its not a bad router, its actually pretty decent although i had to reconnect it in the power because it gets jammed some times, im running on a new linksys router although id still recommend this to most it rarly jammed up but when it did, it was really annoying.

Cons: There seems to be no way to turn off port 113 (auth/ident) filtering. Router ignores setting.

Pros: Very reliable, never crashes. Set and forget.
Comment:
I have had a variety of LinkSys routers, from the befsr81 eight port router through the befsx41 four port router with stateful packet monitoring, down to the befsr41 four port router. The befsr81 and the befsr41 were steady as a rock. The befsx41 four port router with stateful packet monitoring would regularly reboot every two hours. Neither flashing new firmware nor exchanging for another befsr41 solved the problem. My main issue with the LinkSys befsr41 EtherFast router is that port 113 (auth, ident) is always 'filtered' regardless of what the display says. This means that servers on IRC complain about the unconfirmed user, and many IRC servers and or channels will not accept unconfirmed users. Maybe flashing the latest firmware 1.04.09 will fix this continual unwanted filtering of port 113.

Had it for about three years and it stopped working correctly so I had to go buy a new router. Didn't go with Lynksys the second time because of the price but really good router while it lasted.

Cons: Can be confusing to set up, skimpy manual

Pros: Rock solid unit, firmware flashing is a breeze
Comment:
I bought this to replace an exact same model that was starting to fail (dirty powerlines). I'm using it primarily as a hardware firewall as opposed to running multiple computers through it.

I have been using this for over, at least 3 years now, and must say it is prefect. I never had one problem with it whatsoever. It currently networks 4 computers, which it does balance the bandwidth through a fair amount to safely browse the Internet, and some downloading, enough to not effect the other worksstation. If you were going to get a wired router, get this one. Best one I have used and seen as to date.

Cons: -Must flash the router to get to its full potential

Pros: -Excellent router-Good protection against intruders.

I think I made a very good choice buying this router to split my internet connection. Its very easy of use, but the only weakness is needing a flash to get it fully working.

Cons: ExpensiveSame price as wireless version

Pros: It works and is easy to setup
Comment:
I was expecting a non-wireless router to be very cheap now seeing as how wireless ones are this price now, but it was the same price. Needless to say it works, and its easier to use and setup than my last router, but it was very pricy. I'm not sure if you want to pay this kind of money. If I could redecide I would get the Wireless one.

Cons: Not wireless

Pros: Easy to set upGood web-based configuration
Comment:
Linksys makes solid routers and access points. I have quite a few of them. This one proved to be very reliable and worked with everything I wanted. It has port fowarding, dynamic port fowrading, DMZ host and pretty much all you need for a good home network. Supports up to 256 machines, but with just 4 ports you would probably get something greater for such an application.Linksys has good support with frequent firmware updates, which are really easy to install.

Cons: It has weaknesses? not any that I have seen. Just make sure you have the latest firmware and your good to go.

Pros: THis is a great router, I am actually using it for a very small web hosting business that I run. Going through a business DSL connection. Works great no down time because of it.
Comment:
Great router works perfectly fine. NO issues with it at all. I use it on a business DSL connection for a linux web server and it has not failed me once. Just keep your firmware up to date and you should be able to use this router for years.
