Cons: Rather expensive, but peace and quiet are worth it

Pros: Quiet, rubber mounts
Comment:
I bought this for noise abatement. It truly is quiet. I cannot discern it as a separate sound source in my Dell system. The 80mm fan doesn't come with the white 4-pin connector shown in the pictures. You just get the 1 black connector with 3 small connectors (12V,7V, 5V). I removed the old case fan (it's actually a 90mm) and put this 80mm one in (yes, I accidently measured incorrecty). I can discern a slight lowering of fan noise. I am going to replace the Dell power supply with the Be Quiet 750watt power supply next, and see what happens. I'm also going to replace the stock AMD video card (which has a fAN) with an Asus fanless video card to further reduce noise. The thought has occured to me to replace the stock CPU fan with a Be Quiet fan.

Cons: Not a PWM fan. Pricy.

Pros: Quiet. Decent air flow. Easy setup. Looks good. Braided black cable of good length.
Comment:
Mistook these for the PWM version. Oops. Probably OK in a system where constant airflow is OK, or if your mobo will control a 3-pin fan, but no good for a small HTPC case with a mobo that won't control a 3 pin fan unless you can fix the RPM to something silent that still keeps things cool at load. When set to 2000 RPM there's absolutely no whine or vibrations, but you will notice the sound of air flow, the noise will get near silent by reducing the RPM. BQ! does sell a PWM version, but no idea where they are sold in Canada. 3 pin seems to be obsolete, so best to avoid expensive 3 pin fans, go for a cheap one instead.
