Cons: - too hot

Pros: - affordable- decent for mediocre oc'ing - it's orange!
Comment:
Got 2 sets of these for my old rig and now in my new Q6600 w/ Asus P5Q Pro. Has been working fine for a year now. Not too bad for the price when it's on sale. Only downside is it's too hot.

Cons: - Not compatible with Intel P35 chipset motherboards!

Pros: - Cheap on sale- Look nice- Crucial warranty
Comment:
Don't work properly with my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 chipset board. MemTest OK, but WinAmp stops working properly after a few minutes. At first I also had problems with Windows freezing. Another review links to a discussion where Crucial admitted the incompatibility with some Intel chipsets. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-23-09 12:12 PM

Cons: price(if you don't get the rebate check)

Pros: price(if you actually get the rebate check)
Comment:
worked as expected, got this for 55$ less the 35$ rebate, so it seemed like a great deal, but the rebate check never came. I tried to follow up, but no-one answers my emails...I gave up on this rebate, and on mail-in rebates in general. At 55$, I could have gotten better ram

Cons: - A bit large and I'm worried about it cramping the memory next door, but I guess the extra space is for better heat management?

Pros: - Works fine so far- Cheap
Comment:
Haven't really done anything to push this RAM. no overclocking or MEMtests, but it seems to be working fine so far. Running it at dual-channel, 666 MHz. Still awaiting rebate.I'm kinda worried about all the comments about ballistix high failure rates. Let's hope mine are fine. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-07-09 07:56 PM

Cons: none

Pros: Price and small
Comment:
many people are complaining about this having high defects rate so there's luck in buying this.. Mine worked all fine but whenever something went wrong, i blamed the ram. But for $18, you should give it a try (you have 30 days NCIX warranty too). however, i bought some other ram that were being sold for $20 with same specs

Pros: Cheap Overclock WellLifetime Warranty
Comment:
For the price this is decent ram. Mine do ddr1066 5-5-5-15 with 2.2v no problemMYt first set died on me in less then 2 months running at stock settings. But crucial's lifetime warranty is nice and they sent me a new pair without any problems. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-02-08 01:43 PM

Cons: - Expensive when not on sale. Consider 4GB otherwise.

Pros: - Nice ramsinks- Not too expensive- Nice timings
Comment:
Works perfectly fine on my XFX Ultra 650i motherboard. I have not overclocked yet, but the stock timings and voltages work well. Ramsinks look very nice. Performance increase from my Crucial DDR2-667 are minimal so far. At 8 months, unfortunately, I had one of the ram modules die on me. It failed Memtest+ and gave me BSOD. Cons: Some people find it unreliable and uncompatible.

Pros: Cheap, Based in Canada easy for replacement/warranty services.
Comment:
I took this ram to benefit from the free entire order ground shipping promo. It is great to do cheap build that wont overclock much if at all. It works fine when it does =p

Pros: Price, Looks, Speed
Comment:
I don't run it as dual channel, but the ram is excellent. And for the price, you can't beat that. Really nice heatsink and looks pretty good in the case (perfect match for my ausus motherboard). Would recommend and buy again.

Cons: Unknown reliability - previous generation was prone to issues, but maybe these will last longer

Pros: Cheap after rebate
Comment:
Much better than the previous generation! I've bought several batches of this version (80A), and they have all worked flawlessly on P35 and P45 motherboards. Hopefully they won't die out after a few months.

Cons: n/a

Pros: Installed easily, runs fine with system
Comment:
Bought on a sale so the price was just right, had no problems installing and works fine with my system. If I needed more I would buy if it was on sale again. There is no way i would pay full price for this product.

Cons: None.

Pros: Run without problem. Fast, high quality, and very cheap.
Comment:
This RAM is excellent. This is the second set of Crucial Ballistix I buy (one from over 6 months ago), and never had any problems. During NCIX weekly specials, this can go down to terrific prices.

Cons: DO NOT BUY THIS RAM

Pros: DO NOT BUY THIS RAM
Comment:
This ram is not compatible with the P35 Chipset, despite the fact it states on their website that it is. Chat with the support line on their website and ask them and they will tell you it is not!! This ram will fail Memtest and you will get instability and BSOD. I use to be a big fan of Crucial but now that I have 8 gigs of ram that I can not use, I will never buy their ram again.Check out this forum for more info: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/987313.html

Product Features

Crucial Ballistix 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2 x 1024MB)
The Ballistix line is specifically built for performance enthusiasts who want to push the performance envelope without worrying about data loss or corruption, mysterious intermittent errors and display problems, or worse ? the dreaded BSOD! The Ballistix line of high-performance memory modules features advanced speed grades, low latencies, and integrated aluminum heat spreaders.

What is a Ballistix 240-pin DIMM?
A Ballistix dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components that are attached to a black printed circuit board. The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are used to provide DDR2 SDRAM memory for desktop computers. DDR2 is a leading-edge generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data very fast.

To use DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 240-pin DIMM slots and a DDR2-enabled chipset. A DDR2 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket.

The number of black components on a Ballistix 240-pin DIMM can vary, but it always has 120 pins on the front and 120 pins on the back, for a total of 240. Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are approximately 5.25 inches long and 1.18 inches high, though the heights can vary. While 240-pin DDR2 DIMMs, 184-pin DDR DIMMs, and 168-pin DIMMs are approximately the same size, 240-pin DIMMs and 184-pin DIMMs have only one notch within the row of pins. The notch in a 240-pin DDR2 DIMM is closer toward the center of the module.
