Ran well from about November till early March.... or is that seriously a 'Pro'? Started possessing program freezes, then computer system restarts, thought bring about was a virus, turned out to be a terrible stick of memory......I can\'t have the computer down for 2 weeks even though I send the matched pair back for replacement. I have been putting up with it for practically three weeks now! I will need to acquire a new pair (different manufacturer). This was a new make, new hardware, windows 7 64bit, purchased from New Egg as element of a 'combo' for a ŭ.00 savings.... Some savings!!! Given that I can not be with no this pc absolutely whilst I return RMA for two weeks, I will want to purchase a new pair (different brand, different spot) Not satisfied. On my last laptop that I had for 9 years, I upgraded memory twice, and each memory stick ran completely for years (as far as I know, all of it is nonetheless running, as every single time I sold it off low cost to pals). I would rather get a refund on this pair right after I set up a new pair, BUT I won't hold my breath!

Memory performs good initially. Value and service are altogether fantastic. Crucial, despite the difficulties I have had with this memory, has been extremely easy to operate with and has superb technical and sales help. Memory appears to die off (lots and lots of memory errors - specially after the RAM has "warmed up") soon after about 3 months of close to-constant use. Critical has sent me three replacement sets of this memory over the final year - all of which have died after ӯ months of use. For the duration of this time, I have replaced the power provide and added more cooling to the case. This leaves the challenge as either a motherboard problem, or a memory problem. I am switching more than to a distinct memory now to test if it is the motherboard...

Works good for the cost... for 4 to six months. Functions good for the price tag for 4 to six months. I began obtaining BSOD, ran MemTest on it 100s of errors. I need to have read the evaluations additional closely when I purchased the ram. It's fairly awesome that this ram fails for every person in about the similar time period, you would have thought by now Important could fixed what ever the challenge was in the ram. I will say the RMA process is quite painless compared to some, but I'd consider that's simply because of the fail price on Ballistix DDR2.

Operates as anticipated when... effectively when it in fact functions. Average life expectancy is about... three months? perhaps 4? I've had, possibly by far, the worst encounter with Crucial RAM. Their Customer Assistance is excellent even so their merchandise are garbage. I went through 7 RMAs across two unique platforms. I am on Patriot RAM now and so far it has been practically nothing by smooth sailing. Me = not pleased.

They looked good on paper, and the cost was appropriate. Both sticks failed on me within 7 months. No overclocking or strange voltages right here - I'm operating everything strictly stock in a well-cooled case. We'll see how the RMA method goes.

Rapid if they work. Caused intermittent troubles that took some time to track down. Critical fails to honor its warranty. Purchased these more than a year ago. Since then I have been having BSOD and reboots. Ultimately I have time to discover out what is wrong and it was the Important Ballistix memory. RMA'd Important and place mu old A-Information sticks in. The A-Data operates flawlessly. Important did not honor its warranty. In spite of getting a manufacturer defect, I still had to pay to return my memory. Whilst I don't count on Crucial to spend for the enormous time sink figuring out it was their memory that was the challenge, I do expect them to honor the terms of their warranty.

4-4-4-12 timings. Now that's speedy. No matter if you want this stuff to run with tight timings at stock speed, or you want to loosen them up and overclock these puppies, it's up to you. , but that's no biggie Vibrant yellow cooling fins are a bit odd, but hey, that's pretty minor. You have to manually set the mem voltage to two.0V in the BIOS, and you have to manually set the timings, or you get stuck with CAS 5.

Operates properly when it performs. Inside six months of my very first set of 2x1gig, each sticks went poor. Vital replaced them with no problems. Over a year later, one more went negative. My neighborhood vendor does not carry Vital gaming memory any longer, due to their failure rate. I nonetheless have a set of 2x2gig that's very good, so I'm not dead in the water, but I won't acquire Critical "high-finish" RAM once again. I understand that my sticks that failed have been of the 1 gig assortment, but thought it important that my regional shop will only carry Important's typical memory any more.I extremely advise NOT acquiring this RAM, for your personal sanity.

runs good till they start off to die... Since "Approved (issued 05ቱ񳏈 02ᛘpm)" I've had to rma three instances. Now just two days ago BSOD, memtest fail on a single stick. Vital tech says I" propose a ram fan more than the top rated if i run overclocked 4-four-4-12 2.0V" Oh really? it didn't say that in the specs... don't acquire this garbage

These RAMs have been working good for the final numerous months since I purchased them. I have not attempted to go into the BIOS and lowering the timings to the advertised numbers but I may well try it out in a couple days Lotta poor reviews? I started getting the "NTLDR is missing" error ever since? But a new SSD will be arriving shortly

I built my personal ps for the initially time and employed this ram. So far it has not given me any troubles. For DDR2 is is rather rapid from the affordable DDR2 that was in my other desktop that I had purchased from a neighborhood store. none at this time incredibly pleased with the obtain, will purchase these once more.

Black PCB looks slick, Memtest 86+ ran A-OK the very first day I had it, RAM did run at its rated timings for many months... ...following which is completely crapped out. My challenges started with a few strange visual artifacts that almost had me replacing my graphics card, though I'm glad I didn't (kind of, an HD5850 is quite tempting). A number of BSOD's followed, to the point where I popped in UBCD to run all the usual checks. Memtest 86+ popped up over 200 errors prior to test three kicked in. Definitely a RAM problem. I haven't had to deal with Crucial's RMA process in a number of years, but here's hoping it goes effectively. The headspreaders on this RAM aren't all that effectively-built. They don't use any sort of clip style, they actually just seem to be taped/glued onto the IC's.

I did not purchase this but for the individual under me value is not a legit con for anything. Ram is like a commodity prices go up when significantly is not made and goes down when more is created think of it like the stock market place last year was abnormal and that is the lowest cost ram will ever be for the next five years or so none Vital,Corsair,OCZ,Kingston can't go incorrect with any brands

Works wonderful for the initial couple of months. Goes poor and crashes your system. I just uninstalled my second batch of these memory sticks because total failure. I'm getting them RMA'd by Essential, but I will most most likely get rid of them right away. I've been working with Critical memory for years and I've never ever had this sort of excellent problem. Soon after the very first kit took a dive on me (and I didn't have a replacement), I went and purchased the exact same memory from a competitor and it hasn't let me down. I truly wish Vital would just give me some various memory so that I wouldn't have to retain finding these replaced. You would assume it would be in their finest interest to just give clients a quality item.

Worked properly for about 4 months. Immediately after about 4 months I would get random tough shutdowns throughout heavy processing. I though it may possibly be psu or cpu but after investigating I discovered that it was this RAM. Started reading reviews and figured out that it tends to take place a lot with this certain model. Essential is typically a fantastic brand but they botched this product.

Affordable price, nice performance even though they lasted. After about 3 months, like other reviewers, I began expertise intermittent memory-associated kernel panics, which steadily got a lot more frequent over the period of about a month. These chips run extremely hot, which I believe is contributing to their instability. Employed w/GA-EP45-UD3P mb. Have switched to OCZ memory rather, hopefully will have greater luck.

It was quickly while it worked...most likely no more rapidly than other memory although I bought this memory when upgrading from four to eight meg. It worked for about six months then I started possessing boot issues. Following paying 贄 to have my laptop checked out it was determined that I had a bad stick. Critical gladly replaced it. three months later very same problem. I located the undesirable stick and yanked it out. Yet another month, a different negative stick. I've pulled them all out and gone back to what came in the personal computer. What a waste of cash. I wasted mine but you don't have to waste yours.

Rapidly when it operates. I'm in the very same boat as numerous of the other shoppers right here: Below the suggested spec I had these sticks fry themselves in under a year. I don't demand significantly from the machine or for extended periods anymore either. At this point the memory is so sideways that it can't pass a single test in memtest. When it fails, it fails tough and ugly. BSOD immediately after BSOD. You won't have to guess if it's gone undesirable.

Appears fantastic - Lasted almost a year - Read the other guy's con reports and genuinely study them. It almost seems as if Critical mixed in a negative run of memory sticks and absolutely everyone played roulette when they ordered them. I lost. Got the 4gig mem kit. ๨. On Nov.8.09. First stick died in Feb. Final a single going quickly ? I'm on WinXP 32 bit and planned to migrate to Win7 64bit. Going to be a little longer than planned now. I recall when...Essential was a fantastic name and had couple of failures. Shame they didn't remain constant. I won't acquire from them again which isn't saying significantly as I commonly only develop three or four systems a year.

Not also pricey, excellent timings. Doesn't last well. I purchased it in Nov. 2009, and it started causing kernel panics in Feb. 2010. The computer system was in no way really steady once more following that. Ended up replacing the RAM with some from other producers and my computer system is back to being totally stable. I utilized to swear by Vital, but me final couple of dealings have left a sour taste in my mouth. Contemplate obtaining from somebody else.

Crucial Ballistix 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2 x 2048MB)
The Ballistix line is specifically built for performance enthusiasts who want to push the performance envelope without worrying about data loss or corruption, mysterious intermittent errors and display problems, or worse ? the dreaded BSOD! The Ballistix line of high-performance memory modules features advanced speed grades, low latencies, and integrated aluminum heat spreaders.

What is a Ballistix 240-pin DIMM?
A Ballistix dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components that are attached to a black printed circuit board. The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are used to provide DDR2 SDRAM memory for desktop computers. DDR2 is a leading-edge generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data very fast.

To use DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 240-pin DIMM slots and a DDR2-enabled chipset. A DDR2 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard SDRAM DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket.

The number of black components on a Ballistix 240-pin DIMM can vary, but it always has 120 pins on the front and 120 pins on the back, for a total of 240. Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are approximately 5.25 inches long and 1.18 inches high, though the heights can vary. While 240-pin DDR2 DIMMs, 184-pin DDR DIMMs, and 168-pin DIMMs are approximately the same size, 240-pin DIMMs and 184-pin DIMMs have only one notch within the row of pins. The notch in a 240-pin DDR2 DIMM is closer toward the center of the module.
