Got this 1.44MB Black 3.5IN Floppy Drive to be used so I can modify my display adapter bios's for my various builds. It helps alot for overclocking video cards

Well, a floppy is a floppy and normally I wouldn't have one but my partner is old-school and insists on one. I had to replace my old one as the heads became misaligned and have had no problems with this one. For $8.63 you can't go too far wrong!

I rarely use a floppy drive, but when I do, this one works well, is black so it matches my case, and was cheap to purchase.

Comes straight as advertised, but does lack a connector to use for the computer.Like I said though, straight up no problems otherwise.

What can I say, it's a floppy drive, it's black, it's got no name. It reads and writes floppy disks. Not very useful unless flashing your bios. Costs less than a Big Mac meal.

Cons: It's a floppy drive

Pros: Ten bucks, man.
Comment:
I got this drive to fill the 3.5" bay that opens to the front of my case. There's not really much to be said about it, it works like it should, it can read or write to 1.44MB floppies... Just in case you still have any.

Cons: No card readers

Pros: Works as it shouldInexpensive
Comment:
This is the baseline, no bells and whistles, floppy drive, and you manage to get more than you pay for. At such a low price its tough to get ripped off, but for a little more you might be able to get some card readers built in as well if you are interested. If you dont care about the readers, this will suit you just fine.

standard generic floppy drive ... no computer should be without one , either way ... go with the cheapest thing you can find and hope it doesnt blow up , this does nicely.

Pros: PriceGets the job done
Comment:
Nothing much to say about this - if you want a floppy drive, this'll do the job! For the price, it's good to have just in case you ever need to use a floppy disk...better to spend a little bit of money just in case you need it (perhaps to install a SATA driver)

a basic floppy drive, works well, doesn't break the wallet, you dont' really need a brand name floppy for christ sakes =P.I never even use a floppy but, if your a person like me who thinks that a computer isn't complete without a floppy, get this thing,.

Pros: Cheap,Quiet

I bought this unit for a build i was doing and needed a cheap floppy. I was happy to see it was quieter than my own. It operated out of the box with no problems at all. I recomend this this unit to anyone who needs one.

Cons: -Doesn't read CDs-Doesn't like water inside of it-Makes a bad noise if you break it

Pros: -Allows a computer to read a floppy disk-Matches your case colour if you have a black case-Fits in most computers
Comment:
I can really say a lot about this floppy drive. But it would all be the same things I would say about any floppy drive. Put in the disk, exchange (small) files, take out the disk, lather rinse & repeat. This drive comes in bubblewrap so I see no reason not to save a couple bucks and buy open box.

Pros: It works.Pocket change.
Comment:
Man... I know that I'll probably never use this thing, but I've been putting computers together for years and... Well, maybe I'm a fuddy duddy, but a computer just doesn't seem like a computer to me if there's no floppy drive! Some day when my crappy cd-rom drive kicks the bucket, I'll probably have to use this thing to boot into a DOS to restore something... It happens. Get one!

Cons: -the data connector at the back of the floppy drive has a 'key' slot in both the top and the bottom, making it easy to attach the FDD cable the wrong way

Pros: -cheap-black (fits well with my case, other colours might better suit differently coloured cases)
Comment:
I bought this just for the sake of having a floppy drive. You never know when a situation might arise where it's necessary to boot from a floppy drive, or when you might need to transfer files to or from a floppy disk for various reasons. First time I plugged the FDD cable in backwards, all that happened was that the LED on the front stayed lit and it didn't recognize any disks. Simply reversed the FDD cable and everything worked fine. Nothing special, but I would definitely buy it again if I was in need of another floppy disk drive.

for the $10 its worth it, a floppy drive is a floppy drive in most occasions, and you dont need to spend like $40 for a "banded" one, this one did the job just fine!

um, well, its a sony. it works. its useless to most people, but its nice to have there just in case. i can get floppy's for a few bucks a peice, but who the heck has time to drive somewhere to buy a floppy drive. just throw it in an order. If your looking for something more usefull, the Mitsume floppy with integrated card reader is a great product. i use a few myself, and love em.

Pros: -Great price-1.44mb!

I bought this floppy drive to install Raid/sata drivers when installing Windows. It works perfectly and much quieter than I ever remember floppies running.Recomended if you need a black floppy drive.

What can you write about a floppy drive, Half the people you talk to dont even put them in new systems. I needed one so I stole the one from my current Computer, I replaced it with this one and its reading any 3.5 disk I throw at it so far. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-21-06 01:03 PM

Cons: storage space, Read/Write performance

Pros: Stood the test of time.Nearly obsolecent but still so necessary at times.
Comment:
The write performance and storage is neglegiable but what it lacks in performance and space it makes up in letting you repair your OS, use specialty manufacturer software utilitys that will only run in DOS off a floppy, and allow you to use software such as MEMTEST86 to test the stability and reliability of your RAM.My black panasonic floppy drive is the only part thats lasted through all 3 rebuilds of my PC.A++++++++++ for this wonderful legacy device thats allowed us to do so much
