Cons: - Only 4 RAM/DIMM slots- No IDE or PS/2 interfaces- Only 2 USB headers- RAM/CPU heatsink clearance issues with 4th slot- No USB3/SATA3 controllers

Pros: - X58 chipset; triple channel support, SLI/CrossFire support, GbE LAN (Intel 82567LM-2), 8-channel HD audio (Realtek), 2 eSATA ports on rear- UEFI support, overclocking support- IR headers- Optional northbridge cooling fan with blue LED included- Blue LED for HDD activity on board
Comment:
Got this in a bundle with an i7 processor. It has decent overclocking options but lacks a lot of control 3rd party boards have. The layout of the board is questionable as well (ie. RAM and CPU heatsink clearance issues). Also lacks any legacy interfaces like IDE or PS/2. Only has 4 DIMM slots, but supports triple channel memory. I'd only get this board if it was on sale, otherwise, look elsewhere for an X58 board.

Was able to bring my i7 920 to 4ghz.Wish they had used 6dimm so I can upgrade to 12gb in future if desired.Board layout a little different from the norm, but felt it was perfectly fine with my antec 300.

Bought this as part of a barebones deal, first board locked up installing Win 7 4 times. Fifth time it didn't power on at all. Second board wouldn't POST with all known good components. Returned this and bought an ASUS P6T.

The first board I received from here had a few bent pins on the CPU socket. The replacement board was O.K. but some of the board mounting hardware was missing. After scrounging my spare hardware bins, I managed to mount the board. It worked first time I fired it up and has been working for the last 10 days without problem.

Have had this board since February now, it will work for a while and then decide to crash often. Will contact Intel but very disappointed.

Only one complaint. The ATA connections on the motherboard are not straight up and down, or should I say there parallel not perpendicular to the face of the motherboard, which made it hard but not impossible to hook up the cables after mounting the board to the case. That being said, it works great and very happy with it.

Runs linux like butter and makes a great server, workstation and gaming box. I know my stuff, hence this board and cpu works fine. Anyone who has issues with it, has some mental issues too! Go back to school! Linux 4 ever!

Haven't buitl a computer since before college in the eighties. This mother board was part of a package I bought from here and I didn't have any problems.

Performs great, very nice features, love the setup interface. The one I got ended up being warped just enough to allow contact with the case and my PSU wouldn't allow it to power up. I had to put a couple of washers under every standoff on the board to get it to fire up OK. Took a fair amount of time to figure out exactly what the problem was (no beeps, no lights no nada).

This board was DOA out the box. Called Intel for support to confirm. Tiger's CS was friendly and quickly shipped another one.

I've had this mobo for a year and I love it. Just don't sell this board short. The memory speeds supported are higher than what's listed here. Go to Intel's website and you'll see that this board supports 1600MHz memory too. I would definitely recommend this mobo. REFER TO THE INTEL WEBSITE FOR ACCURATE SPECS.

Bought two of everything exactly alike. Paired with GTX-275 cards and i7-920. One computer worked flawlessly the other had a bad mobo out of the box. Intel support did not help or seem to care. Probably should have gone with ASUS. I do have to compliment this site as they were very customer friendly and rushed me another mobo and quickly credited my account. They earned my trust and now I will only buy through them.

They sold this board and a processor together as a ''deal''. What they won't say is they aren't compatible out of the box. The bios doesn't allow the processor to work. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!

Used this on a i7 Extreme, 6gb of corsair 1666 ram and 3 WD 160gb raptor drive. Loaded Windows 7 in about 10 min. Board was easy to install, comes with a nice placard for your box and the huge heat sink-CPU cooler works well for a stock item. It also has a fan for the GPU chipset and both are lit with LEDs. I also really like the way the BIOS is set up for this board.

Had the motherboard for over a year. Installed without a hitch. Ran XP perfectly for about 11 months. Recently upgraded the BIOS and installed 64 bit Win 7 with the same excellent results. I highly recommend this component.

This MotherBoard did more crashing than any board I have ever used. I will NEVER use INTEL again. I have been through numerous sites to try and understand why it has crashed for 9 mos. Finally it came down to replacing my GTX 285 NVIDIA card with a cheap ATI HD 4650 99.00. Furthermore, all of the purported experts on the web forums refuted that the NVIDIA card did not cause the crash because INTEL made the X58 BIOS change. I wont even get into the NON support for Overclocking the RAM. I went through OCZ 1600 6Gig(Crashed, BIOS wont post), Corsair 1600 6Gig(Crashed, BIOS wont post), Patriot 3Gig(Crashed), the only thing to change was the Graphics card. So about 9 months of instability and screwing around with RAM overclocking only to find out that INTEL is in fact NOT COMPLIANT with NVIDIA GTX 285 video cards. Save yourself the cash and buy an ASUS.

Overall excellent mobo, but you get what you pay for (in any case you're paying a lot). Had no problems with it so far and don't expect any in the near future. Has enough ram slots for an average user (unless you like to over compensate for your own flaws by sticking 32GB of DDR3 in to your rig...)
