Printer reasonably priced, quiet, easy to setup, rapid to print, and excellent is wonderful. Great worth for the dollars, and reasonable size. None to thinkof Purchased an additional one particular for an individual else in the workplace immediately after utilizing the initial 1 for a little even though.

For use in the house, this printer is above par when it comes to laser printing. It prints at a blistering 32ppm, the the double-sided printing saves a lot of time and hassle. Easy wireless setup, took five minutes on my macbook and I never had to plug it in USB. toner can get pricey to replace If you just want black and white prints, simple set up, and a straight forward printer with no frills or headaches, this is the printer for you.

Comment:
Very rapidly, excellent print good quality, wireless. The only problem I've had with it is the wireless connection will randomly die and it won't reconnect without power cycling the printer. It will only connect at 802.11b also, won't do 802.11g no matter what I do (has a full signal). Should be some compatibility troubles with my router, despite the fact that nothing else on the network has any problems.

Comment:
The printer has adequate possibilities, even though they're not terribly easy to access or set working with the Net-based configuration utility.Print quality is great. Jams very easily on some paper varieties. Firmware update is ridiculously convoluted.Brother help sucks! It's never been really great (and I've owned or worked on a few Brother printers), but initially-level help can't do substantially other than read from a script, and second-level help is impossible to reach! You have to fax second-level support, and they'll call you back when they get about to it--generally days later. Excellent luck attempting to make contact with them once again following that. I've tried three instances, and only heard back when (the first time). They didn't call me when they stated they would, so I wasn't with the client who had the printer issue at the time. I haven't been in a position to reach them considering that. Initial-level assistance can only stick to their script, regardless of what troubleshooting you've already performed or how considerably you know about PCs and printers. I don't know how extended the printer will last, but if it begins to fail, I'm quite sure I won't get any support from Brother.

I appreciate this printer. Its quick and auto duplexing (when printing double sided, the pages do come out with a slight curl). I can now carry 50 pages rather of 100, not to mention the savings on paper. You can also acquire the tn-650 high yield toner that prints 8000 pages for 83 bux (obviously results may possibly differ). That's Significantly more affordable than HP which charges slightly much less for 2500-3500 page toner. The wireless works excellent with all the pcs on my network, xp, vista and Win7 RC. Slight curl when printing double sided, but not an issue for me.

WiFi and USB simultaneously.Set up wizard on the disc is effortless to use.Fast, double sided printing and superb print top quality. Printing from a new iMac, an old laptop, and an x64bit homebuilt desktop. Will not do WiFi and Ethernet at the exact same time.Installable GUI is clunky and confusing for the novice (unusable for the newbie). Wonderful Duplex printing at an inexpensive value.

I got this printer for a super deal at workplace depot so the price tag I paid is tainting my opinion a large amount! This printer is amazing! Sure it has its short falls, insufficient warning lights, and you have to use the internet interface to tell anything about it. I'm not looking for something fancy although I just wanted a monochrome that duplexed and to not have to invest an arm and a leg to get it. Plus if your willing you can just refill your toner cartridge instead of purchasing a new 1 and get even far more bang for your money! I feel this is the greatest worth out there for printers! The manual lied to me it stated that I would typical about 3000 pages prior to I necessary to refill the toner I got a bit below half of that. Now I know it says it would average but I was hoping for closer to 2500 pages... Oh well. Buy a single and then when your toner runs out acquire the refill kit!

Awesome printer - rapid first page out, effortless setup on wireless, duplexer is great, modest footprint, *** Quite Quiet *** Require to have DHCP server and Cat-5 cable to set up the wireless portion of the printer. I could not get the wireless to setup on a AD-Hoc network as described in the docs. Drivers work excellent for Pc and MAC - would strongly recommend. Also - only has 32 MB ram - can expand to with 256 or 512 SO-DIMM 144 pin Pc 133. Docs in one location state that a 256MB Module is max, other places list 512MB as the max memory module you can add.

Really fast, inexpensive printer. Really like the duplex printing, did not understand how a lot effort that saves me every single week. As reported by other reviewers, the wired Ethernet connection can "go away" for no apparent reason. Didn't understand it was bug till somebody else's 5370 did the exact same factor as mine, then discovered comments here. CAN BE FIXED: has to do with not becoming in a position to do wired and wireless printing at identical time, evidently switches to wireless (disabling wired) for unknown causes. To reset networking to default (wired Ethernet): 1) Turn off printer 2) Hold GO button down, turn printer on. Continue holding while all LEDs come on and the Status LED turns off. 3) Release GO button. Other LEDs go dark. four) Press GO button six occasions in a row. All LEDs light to show reset of settings. Printer will restart. Network is back at default. Had a Brother HL-1440 that lasted FOREVER. Replaced with least expensive Brother, which died rapidly. Hoping this one lasts, due to the fact I like it.OH, and you can put black electrical tape more than the clear windows on the toner cartridge to get additional prints out of it when it stops due to "low toner".

This is my first laser printer. I'm tired of being ripped off by the exorbitant price of ink jet printer ink. The Brother web site has Linux drivers readily available for download. I download the rpm for openSUSE and installed it with the cups wrapper and the printer functions fine with a 64 bit OS. I also installed the included driver from the cd for my MacBook and the printer worked perfectly with my Mac with a usb connection. There is additional paper curl than I would like but I can live with it. Setting up wireless printing is a rather involved method, but the directions from the Brother web site take you via it step by step. At the end of the set up there are some instructions involving a MAC address that ended up getting irrelevant to my circumstance. I had to call tech support to clear this up. The printer wouldn't print wirelessly the initially time so I had to call tech support. Right after they switched me to somebody in Mac support, they instructed me to adjust some settings that weren't included in the on the web directions. Then I required to delete the printer and then add it once again. Soon after this, wireless printing worked fine. The woman from tech support was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Due to the fact I don't use Microsoft software program, I'm quite happy that this printer works with both Linux and Mac. The initial setup with a usb connection was simple.

Low-cost. Rapidly printing. Quickly warmup. Wired & wireless networking (WEP only, no WPA/WPA2). Plain drivers with out the bloatware packaged in other printers. Good property pages in prtiner configuration. Loads of possibilities in printer webpages. Ƒ) Virtually no status indicators on printer. Demands browsing printer's webpage to view current status and/or issue.ƒ) Ridiculous manual tray as default, which blocks all print jobs until manual feed is loaded with paper or printer is reset, loosing all jobs.Ɠ) No way on printer webpages to list/delete current jobs, even as admin.Ɣ) WEP only!ş & Š trigger major headaches simply because inevitably a user prints to the default manual tray, which blocks all print jobs waiting for the manual feed tray with no way to tell what's wrong since there is no status screen on the printer. As a result, I obtain an instant onslaught of phone calls from frustrated users who can not print. Also, a lot of of the functions on the printer's webpages are inaccessible in the course of this time simply because the printer is "busy".As added hindrance to admins, Brother shops all printer settings in a single binary registry value containing username & PC, producing it impossible to set defaults in Group Policy or login Con š may well be resolved if the printer is shared with all administration & job manage performed at the server. Plus, shared printer (versus all PCs printing directly to its network port) would permit central setting of default to tray 1 rather of manual feed, which could resolve Š.Even so, nothing will fix con ş and therefore you will receive calls from frustrated users who don't know why their jobs aren't printing. This is the 1st and last time I get a network printer with out a status screen on the printer itself.Massive binary value in registry to shop all printer settings is bizarre, error-prone, lazy programming. Acquiring that makes me question the whole driver now.

Superior all about printer, Excellent efficiency for the cost.Separate toner/drum so consumables are less high-priced than other laser printers on the industry. Purchased 2 of these printers on sale for 赔 at a brick and mortar. Wired network interface failed on each printers within 24 hours. Printer nonetheless works though the USB interface. I have to have gotten 2 printers from the same bad lot. I bought these printers for their cost/performance ratio. They consistently get excellent reviews and I've had superior luck with Brother in the past. I would have given 4 Stars, but with two failed network interfaces I had to knock off one star.

great printer
Comment:
I've had it for one month and I am very happy with it. Given the internet connection I am able to keep inside a closet in the other end of the room. I also own the previous model (all the same but without the internet connection), and it's great. Much better than my previous HP. Love the duplex printing. your company also has consistent good service.
