I just want to make sure that people realize that this is not the feature-loaded RS version of this power supply (i.e. the RS1300LCD). 220$ is the recommended price for the RS, not the XS!!

I bought this one because of price 139$ for a 1300va with a 2 dollar delivery fee. it worked out of the box. To connect to a pvr & external sata hard drive. The brand is well known. My old employer used to buy them.

Just plug it end and let it charge over night. Then you are all set to protect your computer. Great price, only $10 more then replacing the batteries in my old UPS.

I researched several units, but for the price this was the best value. Especially the free shipping from Tiger. I had it for a month and I said I would never use it. In the middle of some important online activities the power went out, but not my PC, 32

This is a nice UPS works as advertised. 2 concerns to be aware of though: 1 - No software for Windos 2003 Server so only basic features supported through the OS. APC have no plans of supporting Windows 2003 Server either. This is clearly dissappointing considering servers usually require UPS's before workstations. 2 - The unit runs hot & always emits a burning plastic smell. This is after 2 weeks and operating at only 20% load. This may point to an overall design flaw. My fingers are crossed...

APC makes a great UPS. The unit does a great job in protecting your equipment against power spikes, brownouts, & power loss. I live in a rental house with serious power issues. The house wireing is out of date, I have to watch what I plug in so I don't blow a trip the circuit breaker. The same cirucit my computer equipment is plugged into in my office is also on the same circuit as the livingroom, kitchen, & a few of the bedrooms upstairs. So, with this APC, my computer equipment is protected when something is plugged in and either causes a powerloss, spike or brownout. If I loose power is supplies the power long enough for me shut it down & the equipment is not effected. I haven't had any issues since I put this in place. I since then bought the 1500 seires & both are preforming great.

I purchased the APC in the event of a power outage as the northeast has plenty of them. As of now we have not had an outage so I can't comment on the performance. I can say however that the unit has enough outlets to attach all my important equipment to it. The setup was easy and the unit looks like it will do the job without any problems. One day when I'm completely bored I may unplug the unit and see how well it works. But for now I am confident that the unit will perform as it was advertised to do.

Pros: good runtime, useful display, lots-of-outlets. Cons: none so far. I picked this UPS because it's a good combo of battery outlets and size for the money. I have an HTPC box (E6400, 4GB, HD3450 512MB, 3 HDDs, 2 dual-tuner cards), 3 HDHR tuners, and a 4-port GB switch all connected to it. Est runtime (at 100W load) is 50 minutes, according to the display. Not bad. :)

APC battery backup units have always been high quality. This BX1300LCD unit is that, plus gives you all the info you could want on the digital display.

We have many power surges in our area. I lost one high-end and one middle of the road computers before installing this device. This device has put an end to the dead computers and hard drives . I believe that most failures are due to power surges. This product was a good investment for me.

You will not be disappointed with this UPS. It handle a typical small business setup with extra power to spare. The 1300 is well worth it for the piece of mind that you get. It's also easy to install and the LED indicators are very convenient as is the self test feature.

Runs my hi-end pc (850 watt psu, AMD 3.4CPU), a low end pc, modem, router, monitors-1 lcd (22in), 1 crt(19in), external drive, and even the 5.1 surround speakers - never peaks over 600 watts under full load while gaming on the hi end machine. At 180$ on APC site, it is a bit too much IMHO. However, I got mine on black Monday for 99.99! Nice deal! Digital read out gives more info than you need, and has a nice mute button for the beeping when the power does go out! Plenty of outlets too.

This UPS is simply amazing. It handles all of my technical gear without even showing the slightest grimace of power strain. With 8 outlets and 15 minutes of battery life, I really couldn't ask for much more at this price. My advice, if you have the means and could use a solid UPS, pick the APC XS 1300 up and give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

This UPS works fine. It manages shutdowns nicely. I have had two unattended extended outages since I got it and have had no problems recovering. It gives me a good fifteen minutes of battery power which should cover 90% of outages without even shutting down the system. The price was a real deal and, as usual, Tiger's service and shipping time was first class. I can highly recommend both this product and this retailer.
