it says its a server processor but i can be used for other applications like hardcore gaming and heavy computing. this cpu is insanely fast compared to the rest of the 775 sockets. i have seen this cpu walk circles around core 2 duo and core 2 extreme and been overclocked to 4ghz like i said its fast

Pros: Runs cool Low VoltageEasily Overclockable
Comment:
Had this chip for 7.5 months now and I'm very happy I decided on this. OC'd to 3.6 without adjusting vcore and before installing OS first time in a completely new build. Currently running 3.82GHz 1.26 vcore 24/7 rock solid stable.Runs 29c idle 38c-41c under full load (OCCT) with Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer.Only problem is core1 is bottomed out at 37c and doesn't start moving until core goes above that. One of the best C2D's on the market. Well i got this chip over the E8400 and i could not be happier got it to 4ghz no problem max was 4.5ghz but still trying to get it stable gonna try 1.43-45 volts. Really a great chip i often use the Asus Six engine software to downclock it to 1.5ghz when im just downloading.

Pros: Great overclocker
Comment:
Was warned that this was harder to overclock compared to the E8400 (otherwise the specs were nearly identical). I guess I got lucky because I can easily push mine to 3.8gHz stably with an Freezer Pro 7 HSF at stock voltage.

Pros: Runs very fast and stable at stock frequency with idle temp of 37C and 55C at load

Bought the processor and installed it on the Asus P5K and had to update my bios. I changed the motherboard to Asus P5K-E WIFI and it worked right of the bat! Asus site doesn't list it as being supported but it works! Bios version is 1006.

Pros: Fast, solid, stable

Well its not a 3Ghz Quad that wil run a bajillion programs... wait that not a weakness... right? Awesome processor, have no complaints and can over clock t to a stable 4.16Ghz on air! Although I sit it at 3.6Ghz and 38C 45C at load. Nice cool processor, although they still read incorrectly, had to use an external temp probe. This processor is a great relatively cheap processor for any gamer!

Awesome chip for the price. I got it on a good sale when it was cheaper than the 8400 - you even get to be a bit elitist with the xeon brand :p

I moved from an older p4 3.0mhz cpu, and the difference in speed is phenomenal. This processor runs at a fairly cool 45 degrees celcius under full load, and supposedly is very overclockable (I haven't tried yet) Definately would buy again

Great CPU, it is basically the Xeon Twin to the Core 2 Duo E8400. Both Wolfdale cores, both 45nm, both 1333Mhz FSB, both have 6MB cache. Also both overclock very well. Have seen this CPU hit 5.2Ghz with water cooling, 4Ghz plus on air alone. Very good CPU for the money.

Pros: FastC2D compatible
Comment:
Intel doesn't list any Xeons as being compatible with their desktop boards, so I was a little concerned ordering this when the e8400 was nowhere to be found. I was pleasantly surprised though. This thing is fast. It usually sits at 2GHz. Even with 4 simultaneous users it rarely jumps up to 3GHz, let alone use a lot of cycles.

Comment:
I bought this CPU because i didnt want to wait for the 8400 which is now in good supply. I have no complaints about this. I dont know much about it other than its really face compared to my old cpu and runs my games very smoothly. My only complaint is the included heatsink is really hard to install.

Great processor people are getting monster overclocks on this thing. Currently have mine at 3.2, but I'll probably take it further once I get a better hsf.

Cons: recommended voltage range not as high as the E8400 (not really a weakness)

Pros: GREAT OVERCLOCKER!!!!
Comment:
Right out of the box I plugged this cpu in my Asus Maximus Formula motherboard and just upped the FSB to 400 mhz and instantly got 3.6 ghz.... with a slight voltage increase to 1.26 I was able to get 4005 mhz (9 x 445) 100% stable with load temps never breaking 50 degrees with the TRUE cooler. I haven't gone up much farther in my overclocks because 1. I'm pretty happy with getting 4 GHZ and 2. my motherboard FSB can't get up too much higher for some reason.

Cons: Not quad core

Pros: Good OCer, cheap, fast
Comment:
A great CPU, I've got mine currently OCed to 3510 MHz (couldn't go any higher on my motherboard because I've got 8 GB ram which doesn't seem to play nice with FSBs above ~390), and it's completely stable and super-fast. Would have liked to have gone with a quad, but the price is still a little too high on those...for now. I'm very happy with this processor, and hope that it lasts for years!

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Fast & cool, 45nm process, just the same as the ever-out-of-stock E8400, cheaper than the ever-out-of-stock E8400. :)
Comment:
If you're tired of waiting in line for a E8400, this is your chip; it's just the same 45nm 3GHz Wolfdale CPU. Very fast and efficient, overlocks well, but has some screwy heat sensors (known problem among OCers, I don't OC so this is moot for me).

Pros: Overclocks easilyLow heat productionGreat value
Comment:
I've had this for almost 2 days and it's a fantastic experience so far. For it's price this chip definitely outperforms as it overclocks easily without having to bump stock voltages at all (4GHZ t 1.28V on a P5K-E/WiFiAP with OCZ Platinum 4GB Kit 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V; Artic Freezer Pro 7, Antec 900 case; Prime stable for over 12 hours). Worth every penny.

Probably the best processor out there for a gamer who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on extreme processors or don't want to overpay for E8400

Pros: Easy to do 4ghz stable.
Comment:
Much faster than my e6550 in game or other programs, should be easy to do 4ghz for 24/7 usage with decent CPU heatsink of course. Have been waiting for the e8400, but was out of stock, and this one was cheaper than the e8400 on sale, plus i PM for a even lower price. Can't even utiltized 2 cores...why bother getting 4 cores for now. This is enough for most people.

Get one. Stuff the E8400 for it's inflated price. This CPU is a beast and in stock now. 3.8GHz a 1.2V and still going. PC is snappy and fun to use now. You will not regret it.
