Easily overclocked to three. ghz on a cheapo g31m-es2l board on stock volts, just changed FSB to 375 and turned speedstep off. Windows 7 rates it a 7.3 overclocked at 3., and 7.2 at the stock two.66. I now have a Q9650 running at 1500 FSB, with 1Ǚ of the cache, for half the cost. I ran intel burn test at maximum burn settings and it under no circumstances hit more than 55C on any core, overclocked. Cool seeing 4 cores in process manager. Windows 7 64-bit is seriously rapidly with this chip. Cost is too higher with the new i5 and i7 out for awhile now. All 4 cores have stuck temperature diodes, but like everyone else they function when they go over the stuck point. Don't anticipate to see a big performance improve if you are just surfing the net and listening to music on your computer. Video and audio encoding, multitasking, that's where these quads show the increase in power. If you're building a new computer, I'd go for the new 32nm chips. I've study these can quickly hit 4 ghz and beyond.

Meets all specs as far as I can inform. No concerns. Installation is Uncomplicated. Really like that way it just drops in. They should have invented that years ago. Even the push pins for the fan absolutely everyone has complained about are not that poor... (at least on initially install). Fan is noisy... I can't decide (yet) if I can stand the constant ticking noise. The is the explanation for four eggs not 5. I may well appear for a quieter following marketplace cooler. The fan on my old AMD Opteron64 was Significantly quieter. Possibly this is a undesirable fan? I'd love it if Intel had been to offer a replacement fan that is quieter.

How is this news?Anyway i put Arctic Silver 5 and aftermarket HS on it and OC'ed to 3.four GHZ and it stays under 70c straightforward. If your on a spending budget and have a Mobo with great features then its a great obtain

Well, I've been operating it at 3.2Ghz stable @ 1.25v for about 95% of the time. I've had it to 3.6Ghz steady @ 1.30v when I wanted some added enhance, and even three.eight and 4. for some benchmarks. Though, at 4. it would crash, a lot... also had to run at 1.4v and up ( I don't advise it). But, clearly it has taken a beating and is still cranking as powerful as the initially day I got it! Of course the 4MB L2, and the 8x Multiplier can be annoying. But, for the price tag what can you anticipate?!Also, like constantly... the Intel stock cooler in no way even got installed. It's a good chip, if you want anything that will last you a even though but wont thin your wallet, get this! It's not i7 but it's a lot rapidly for fairly considerably something you can throw at it. With a decent mobo (ASUS P5Q Pro right here) three.2Ghz is so simple with stock voltages and beneath my Arctic Freezer Pro 7, it runs cool.

- Wonderful performance when overclocked- runs at three.6Ghz beneath 50 celcius on max - 4MB L2 cache I purchased it for my 2nd pc and I'm really satisfied. If you have 775 socket and seeking for a quad-core processor for small buget, this CPU is for you.If you can overclock this CPU, you might want to play with this cpu.

Passed strain test with BurnInTest Pro at max-load duty cycles on a 15 minute duration. Utilizing it for my every day tasks I didn't see it bump previous 5% most of the time (I multi-task A LOT). By no means went above 65°C throughout the pressure test, 70° is high and it under no circumstances reached anywhere close to it. Of course, the temp has a lot to do with the CPU cooler and case I have(Rosewill RCX-Z300 92mm Ball CPU Cooler, and the NZXT ZERO two chassis - fully loaded with fans). All in all this factor is extremely incredibly fast, can handle any day-to-day job and even your far more complex tasks such as 3D modeling and the like. The socket format. Not genuinely an issue for most, but maintain in mind that it is Quite Straightforward to bend the pins on the mobo. They're basically small pieces of wire brush rather of pins. The slightest touch will bend them so just take care when installing the cpu. I bought this as an upgrade from an AMD Socket AM2 64x cpu, so it had been a while due to the fact I have upgraded until this CPU. Even so, I nevertheless consider this factor rapid and much more then adequate for your each day computing.

Quick and low-cost. The stock heatsink sucks. I just noticed that the CPU runs up to 90c, I believe that it's been like this for a handful of months, I have no concept how it's nevertheless alive... I'm presently in the method of acquiring a new heatsink

Low voltage, runs cool, runs quickly. Processes multimedia effectively. None seriously. It is a sensible alternative to moving to the LGA 1366 socket. The LGA 775 loved ones isn't energy hungry and stays cool in all day operations (CODBO, MOH 2010, HAWX 2) as effectively as music and video processing.

This is a good quad-core for ESXi primarily based hypervisor platforms. The stock Intel cooler is a copper slug core, and far more somewhat more efficient than the all aluminum stock cooler for E6500, E8400, etc.The present cost is acceptable for a quad-core.This one is sSpec SLGT6, and certainly Vt-x enabled. It is a drop-in match for a good tiny 775 board I had in stock for a VM host. No hyperthreading. No turbo increase. The i5-750 Lynnfield gives these characteristics for a different ฮ, and does not suffer the memory controller challenges of the Clarkdale. A lot much more overall performance is realized from the i7-9xx Bloomfields with QPI, but at much greater expense. GA-G31M-ES2L v2 temps with the intel copper cooler:BIOS Idle: 39C at 881 rpm, 33C at 1804 rpm (non-pwm)HWmonitor and Prime95:Core Ş = 58C. TMPIN2 = 46C at 1159 rpmHWmonitor at idle:Core Ş = 37C. TMPIN2 = 27C at 878 rpmThe Mugen-two will fit, but only with normal/low height memory. My F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B G.Talent is too tall on this modest board.

For the cost this issue is good. Incredibly simple to overclock if that is what you desire. Not truly the processor's fault but I had to flash my GA-EP45-ULD3 bios to get it to boot. Luckily I had a spare duo laying about that I could use whilst flashing the bios and so forth..

I'm not seeing enough of a difference to warant getting 1 (Gaming sensible) Runs quick, good multi-tasking CPU, and this point runs Incredibly cool. max I've managed to get it to is 24 degrees and that was while I was operating two tabs in Firefox, Windows media player and Crysis on max settings. Does what its supposed to do. Great out of the box processor and even greater when overclocked. This CPU can simply be overclocked to 3.2Ghz at 400mhz FSB without any work. The Q8400 can effortlessly handle that overclock and most likely can go even larger which I'll be testing out quickly. At 3.2Ghz and 100% load, my temps maxed out at 50 deg C...(with Xigmatek DK cooler)Even if you dont intend on OC'ing, it nonetheless breezes by means of applications. Would be nicer if it had a higher multiplier. But apart from that.....no cons.

4 processors They only run at 2.66mhz. I utilized this on my HTPC and it required to compress and industrial skip videos. I had an E8400 that ran at 3., and this one having four processors is fantastic, but is rather slow. It's only made up by the reality that there are additional processors. I knew this going in, but I'm a bit disappointed with the overall overall performance.

I went from a E6750 core2duo to this and there is no comparison with my 680i MB with eight gigs of ram. After installed go suitable to MB bios and turn on cpus 3 and 4 and let the memory reset its self. After windows7 boots entirely it requires about 5 minutes for the new cpu to be installed and says must reboot for new device. Loads quicker, disks with programs are lightning fast now. temps 104 to 109 normal up to 140 with lotro running occasionally. I have a larger cpu fan block than the 1 that came with it even though. I'd obtain a different suitable now if I could. I hate the 775 cpu fan with the push down twist factor. No require to overclock it.

I spent a extended time looking at socket 775 CPU's since my motherboard an ASUS P5B delux wi fi edition with the latest bios can use this processor I went for the upgrade. Only can saturate all 4 processors with benchmark applications created to use all of the cpu energy. Runs cool with a fan upgrade. The a single included really should operate just fine. The sales information was not clear on the integrated fan. Why can't I saturate all 4 processors? Most likly due to the CPU waiting for I/O such as the Really hard Drive, Memory and multiprocessor wait states. What does it all imply? You will not wait as long for any application to be ready to use. Your virus scan will not slow your web browsing.
