This cpu is amazing an no you cant compare this to AMD because they dont have any cpus that can match the architecture. Not to say AMD isn't good I think they're great. I'm just saying if you want a CPU that is ahead of the game then this is the one. This overclocks over 4ghz like a champ. Couldn't be happier.

This processor is great. It runs fast and is reliable. My only 2 complaints are that intel DOES charge a lot for the quality you get, and the fan could be better considering the money spent (works fine as is, but I'm a little nervous overclocking with it).

Pros: Fast and easily made faster. - Cons: Comes with barely adequate fan and heatsink. This should drop the qualify half a star. - - Review: I've had this for almost a year and it flies. I have it paired with an eVGA X58 MB and by adjusting the QPI only, I can overclock it to 3.1 GHz. It only increased the core temperature by about 5C at 100% load. That makes it slightly faster than an i7 950 at half the price. I haven't pushed it to the point that I have to tweak the core voltages, etc. Many people on the web are easily overclocking to 3.6 GHz and even more than 4 GHz without using liquid cooling. This is definitely a good buy and an awesome processor.

Get this and a decent CPU cooler and let it rip. OCed this to 4Ghz with air cooling and I haven't looked back. I can rip and encode a DVD in less then 45 minutes (2 pass h264 HQ mkv container!). CPU core runs at 70C with all four cores at 100 percent. That's why you need a decent CPU cooler. CON: May cause your electric bill to go up....

Was going to buy the 930 when the price of this suddenly became available for $50 less. Can't complain with anything as it simply chews thru any program that dare test its abilities. Even in high performance games I rarely see it go above 30% utilization. I bought a beefy case just in case but the stock fan keeps it plenty cool. It'll be a long time before anything taxes this thing. Then again, Crysis II is coming out soon...

I bought this cpu from another vendor, for 40 dollars cheaper, and it is a fast processor. I have it paired with an Rampage GENE II MB, and DDR3 1333 memory. I recently started having BSOD's involving this cpu. After contacting TS they ststed that the 920 or any I7 cpu isn't compatible over 800 or 1066. So FYI check ur memery before buying.

Cons: Rien

Pros: CPU performantFaclie à installer
Comment:

Cons: None Yet

Pros: Fast, Loads of overclocking headroom
Comment:
There's multiple versions of the i7 architechture but this one is the best bang for the buck. The high end chips (965, 975) do have unlocked multipliers but as far as stock speed they still only go up to 3.2GHz at a cost of $1000. You can get this chip up to 3.6-3.8 reliably for daily use for the cost of a good heatsink. To me that's a great deal. 1366 is also the next generation which means the board you use this chip on will also support the upcoming 6-core 32nm chips, pretty much a no-brainer.

Pros: Excelent price/performance
Comment:
Wrey nice product. It runs excelent with 5 virual machines (including a PBX). The speed is good, I did not even need to overclock. Actualy the overall capacity is used at 80-90 % (OS Win 7 - vitual: XP, 3 Linux, 1 2003 Server). I keep it in cool place and the fan is very efficient. It is the best for the money.

Cons: none

Pros: Fast, triple-channel memory controller, 8 threads, great overclocker.
Comment:
The processor is fast. It overclocks easily. I have had it running quite stably j 3.8 ghz on Air, but because of my case size, under 100% load it would max out around 80c, which although is technically safe for this processor, is a little bit warm for my comfort level

Cons: Smallish heat sink

Pros: Lives up to the hype!
Comment:
The new quad cores live up to the hype - they run fast and run cool. No issues when paired up with ASUS P6T motherboard.Heat sink is a little on the smallish size if you're planning to overclock - for regular day-to-day use (non-overclocked), you'll have no issues at all.

Cons: Not the greatest for OC'ing, then again, the next step up is a doozy.

Pros: Powerful, fast, reliable Core i7 unit for an affordable price.
Comment:
Intel's entry level Core i7 unit is a sight to behold. Powerful and versatile with up to 8 theoretical cores thanks to Hyper-threading, this CPU will satisfy whatever you are looking to do.For those seeking less-futureproof, more power now components, I would recommend looking at the Core i7 860 rather than this with the LGA1156 socket. That gives you a bit more bang for the buck at the moment. However, this core is still just as good.

Cons: doesn't really say what stepping

Pros: one of the most powerful cpu's out there.oc's well
Comment:
The cpu is awesome, although i really would have liked for the page on ncix to say what stepping, because i wanted D0, but didn't notice that there was two different i7 920's on ncix, one of them being the D0 version and the other (the one i bought) being something else that is unknown as it is not stated

Pros: Best bargain of the new processors.
Comment:
I bought this for a new build for processing hd movies and it doesn't hesitate to get the job done. It runs really cool with my Noctua and is fast enough to never see any lag on multi tasking. If you're ready to spend money on a new board etc. i think this would be the best choice.

Pros: PriceSpeedOverclock-ability (trust me, it's a real word)
Comment:
Amazing chip and a great price, while it is a shame at needing you replace your motherboard for one with the new socket. It's a great overclocking chip but it does get hot so you'll be wanting a third party cooling solution.

Pros: Good enough stock cooler.
Comment:
So far I haven't had any issues with this CPU. If you have good enough airflow in your case the stock cooler will more than enough to keep it cool even under heavy loads, unless you want to overclock the cpu.
