Worked out of the box.Stock fan keeps temperature about 35c idle, and haven't seen it go above 47c under load.Easy to mess with the clock settings.HT and "turbo enhance" technologies are a huge plus. None so far. When I make anything a tiny cooler (not that I'm not satisfied now, I just want to be secure) I'm preparing on cranking it way the hell up to see what she can genuinely do.

Rapidly out of the box. Paired it with Win 7 X64 on an ASUS P6X58D and let it go. Easily overclocked to three.eight on an aftermarket fan. I mean Seriously Effortlessly. Just changed one quantity in in bios (BCLK) up 30 and got a good 35% speed improve. No voltage adjustment necessary. Like butta. You might want to get a far better-than-stock fan if you program to overclock. Otherwise you're almost certainly fine. With minimal adjustment you can make this chip as quickly as a single that has 3 occasions the expense. Worth just about every penny.

I've only had this for a few days, but so far it has been every thing I expected of it. Came with a bit of thermal compound pre-applied, I nevertheless added a tiny to make myself feel much better although. Was quite easy to seat on an ASUS P6X58D-E. Practically nothing but, if I have any problems I will post right here.

Effectively just about every chip is different, but I have a low voltage Chip it seems.-4ghz at 1.25 setting in BIOS w/HT wants a small much more (calibration set to AUTO) AVG vcore for 4ghz seems to be 1.25-35 give or take.-Very quick and an efficient CPU for gaming or operate.-Built in memory controller Ɠ channels)-No pins on the back to worry about bending. (although it's still very best to be careful and not touch the bottom or the top rated.)-This chip will be quite sufficient energy for years to come. So it's a good investment and five years from now I'm sure it will nevertheless hold up just fine even although it would be regarded as "old".-Turbo mode if motherboard supports it for men and women that don't know how to OC manually There are not too numerous and also as I stated depends on the chip and how each one can execute.-Need a new motherboard/socket in order to upgrade-They can run a small hot, but it's typical. Have to compensate for aftermarket cooler and high air flow case. (or water cooling)-Generally the very same chip as any other 900 series just greater clocked for far more cash. These are quite significantly the new 930... I chose to upgrade to an i7 from Q6600 (wasn't needed just had the funds and decided to).I didn't choose to purchase a Sandy Bridge despite the fact that I probably should have, but I am satisfied with my i7 mainly because I didn't really feel like waiting for the motherboards to restock and when they did mostly they were going out to individuals that had currently paid for them. This is the setup I just purchasedAntec 1200Intel i7 950Corsair ax850 modular 80 plus goldAsus Rampage III Formula (blew a couple capacitors doing anxiety test at only 1.35 in bios. This chip is an absolute monster! Eats every little thing with minimal work! Appreciate how there are no pins on Intel processors. Have accidentally dropped an AMD, bent pins! I do not regret switching, this point is sick compared to my P2 940 BE! Runs significantly hotter at three.8 than my AMD and I'm working with a superior cooler on this than my 940! My AMD's load temps were only 10 degrees C larger than this at idle! Did not set up cooler incorrect! The higher temps are effectively in tolerance for this chip, at three.eight this idles at 39 and 67 load. AMD 940 was 19 idle and 48 load! Massive difference + AMD 1.55v, i7 1.24v!!! None of this removes a star as this thing is so considerably quicker!

Awesome chip, handles something I've been in a position to uncover to throw at it. I purchased this to replace my old core two duo and the distinction in them is night and day. I only could afford to get a single. Good chip for gaming, possibly overkill if you aren't employing it for graphics or gaming.

-great chip overall, spanks anything amd delivers-overclocks decently well -the 950 i got was to replace my old 920 that gave out on me, in spite of the larger series number the 950 i received calls for far more volts to attain 4ghzƑ.3v as opposed to 1.28v on the 920) temperatures appear about the similar even though. wishing i would have went with the 970 alternatively but as i only use my laptop for gaming and casual net surfing i didnt see the want for 6 cores.

Its a good investment, because the costs of the six core will go down by the time games barely begin out-dating the 950 (which won't be for a although) and is so economical at this point that it practically obsoletes value arguments by AMD customers. If you can spare the extra cash, it is worth it, again, for the expandability. Stock fan is incredibly average. 1 second at full load produced all four cores go above 70 (room temp 65) and that's with a certified set up, not amateur. I believe if you want to actually do anything high performance you need a greater fan. At idle, with area temp now about 70, all cores involving 44-49. Not fantastic, not horrible...actually not excellent.... I would also advocate a 750 watt PSU (min) if you want to expand in a few years. With some there is a five year warranty and if bought with AmEx you get a year extra by way of the card firm (as anything purchased here will if with an AmEx card). That will outlast the processor if you ask me.

It's an Intel Core i7, what's to go over? It's quickly and works as I anticipated it would. Runs cool and I can see that it might have excellent overclocking capacity. I won't know. It's going to run stock for my father. Like all stock heatsinks and fans currently, it is noisy and doesn't do a good job of maintaining it cool.

Its a i7 and awesome It doesnt make me coffee I got this simply because the sandybridge was to close to release and i dont want to obtain the sandybridge yet (i dont like becoming a test topic) so i went with the older tech and not top of the line due to the fact i kinda view that as a waste of money.

* Uncomplicated to set up. Just dropped in & the mobo (Asus Sabertooh) just recognized it.* Handles anything I can throw at it. (I've done video encoding while playing a game and it's actually rapidly.) * Stock cooler is weak - added a Coolmaster aftermarket. Bang for the buck this is an awesome CPU. If you are seeking for a solid CPU that doesn't have integrated video (it's not a Sandy Bridge chip) then appear no additional.

Built my new computer system with this chip for an upgrade from an AMD socket 939 dual core with 3GB RAM. The difference in speed is massive...my old computer system would freeze when running Sonar with just a handful of VSTs, but this computer system with 16GB RAM barely even registers when I have 20+ VSTs going. I haven't noticed this CPU stutter even as soon as with DAW applications, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Vegas. My games are smooth as butter - Crysis two, MW, MW2, Black Ops, BFBC2. The heat sink is challenging to get set up, tends to make a single fear for the mobo.

Simple installation, rapid, simple to overclock, 4 cores (eight with hyperthreading). Just about almost everything you could ask from a reasonably priced CPU. Stock fan is just OK, will possibly need to acquire a greater 1 if you plan to overclock. My last 3 Intel CPU's have been excellent. They overclocked effortlessly and lasted a excellent lengthy time (all 3 are nonetheless running after quite a few years). No purpose for me to ever contemplate AMD.
