Love this CPU! I went to i5 because i7 was too pricey. It is way better than I expected and it is OC friendly. Highly recommended!!

What can I say? This thing is bad to the bone. Overclocking options and all. Can't ask for more for the price(200.00). Paired with a good video card, ram, and mobo, this thing is awesome. Running all stock.

I love this processor for the money, an I-7 would have been nice, but not for the money. Would definetly rec. that you get the Cooler Master V-8 cpu fan if you have a full size case since this processor does get fairly hot. Liked it so much I bought another one for the other PC I am upgrading!

Got the core i5 750 for 179.99 with tax and shipping on tiger direct, great deal. lga 1156 motherboards are much cheaper than the 1366 motherboards, and the performance is very close to the i7 920. overclocking currently with turbo enabled. can't get the fsb higher than 148 without turbo shutting off. This makes the processor dial up to 3.55ghz for the single and dual threaded applications, and when the processor is using all cores it goes to 3.1ghz. On idle, the processor goes down to 1.3ghz, and i've seen the temps as low as 8c, but usually around 12-14c on idle. great when compared to the fact that this was a little cheaper than the 965 BE.

This was a nice upgrade for my computer system. I bought this with an Intel H55HC motherboard and both are working well. Overall speed and power increase.

When I looked this chip up on Intel I thought it said it had hypertheading and quad core. Didn't find out about no Hypertheading until I installed it. Either way it works fast.

If you thought about building a new system now or in the next month this is the defacto cpu to get if your looking to save a few bucks over the I7. 3.4-4GHz is common Ocing. Mines at an easy 3.32 paired with the H20 stock fan setup. There isn't hyper threading but the mobos for this cpu most likely take the i7 also so you have upgrade room anyways. You just can't beat the price for 8mb catch. I hit a score of 7.4 win 7 64 and all together 3dmark06 score of 20957 with the 5850.

PROS: Fast enough, quad core, efficient. Idles at 9x, 1.44GHz. Steps to 24x, 3.82GHz P95 stable under full load. 64C max temps on P55 E655 MB using CM H212 heatsink with 2 fans - speed controlled. Got 20 off, free shipping in March; price point was right. Virtual machines run without a glitch with access to two cores. Other Thoughts: Hyperthreading would be nice, but 4 threads are really enough for what I am doing. CONS: Surface of processor package was far from flat, but it is running within temperature specs in spite of that.

Compared to my 3.0 dual-core, this processor screams. With the included heatsink & fan, this cpu at idle will operate 145F from rated max temperature (Intel's 'Thermal Margin'). Loading all four cores brings it to 70F. I currently have no air conditioning, and on a warm day, still do not see it get any closer.

I always feel like I should have spent the extra $90 for the i7 and get 8 threads instead of just 4. But my friend bought a computer with that processor and it runs the same speed unless you are running more than 4 applications which I rarely do.

It's the best processor I had in any of my PC's over the years. The price was right for me, I bought it as a bundle with the mobo. I'm not into gaming but it's fast enough for most projects that I use, photo's, music editing, etc..

Got this when it was 179.99. What can i say it's fast for almost any task you use with it. Doesn't have HT but not necessary if encoding isn't your thing. Paired with a good mobo you can take this processor over 4ghz.

So far works great. Handles high end gaming, multi-tasking with ease. Bought it for its ability to overclock. Haven't overclocked yet because there hasn't been a need. Typical overclock speeds of 4.0 achieved by most i5 750 overclockers. Can't beat that value. Shipping was quick and FREE. Glad I bought here. Tried to buy at FRY's but they kept screwing up my orders. They won't even return a customer service question. They beat the price and delivered with zero problems.

Ordered this processor bundled with the Intel CPU fan, runs idle at 47 degrees Celsius. By me, the cpu is still running a little too warm. CPU runs under load around 55 Celsius. I would recommend ordering an aftermarket fan if you are going to do long-term gaming.

this processor is awesome, but if you are going to do some gaming, or some intense work, you ABSOLUTELY need to purchase a new CPU fan. A bigger one. The stock fan will cause your system to shutdown if you play games like COD MW2 for more than 40 minutes. You can enable speedstep and stop turbo mode to underclock automatically, but that's not really what most people would like. Otherwise, very good processor, seems to crank away loading times and just about anything else i throw at it.

Bought one of these with a Gygabyte p55a-ud4p, At 4ghz instantly with my Corsair h50 Cooler, Stays 30-35 c idle and 60-65c load with prime 95.. This chip is a Must have i dont see and differnece without hypertheading excpt when burning a cd and listening to music it somtimes skips with the music. not a big deal . All in all VERY good Processor.

This CPU really rocks my world , works excellent and extremely fast , was originally planning on upgrading to i7 but have not yet found a reason to do so , but who know what the future will bring . I'm a gamer and this puppy really delivers all the speed I need . Works extremely well for normal tasks of course , which are much less demanding than high end gaming . My MoBo will run the i7 chipset , so I'm sure that in the near future I will give in to the demand for more performance , even if this CPU is totally meeting and surpassing all my needs for speed . Nice work Intel .

This puppy really goes! Overclocks very easily with no hesitation. Pure performance for the price even out of the box! I was an AMD fan but Intel really did it with these Core i7 and Core i5 series. BUT... the Core i7 does take it up a couple notches in performance with HT

Very fast and exactly what I needed. Unfortunately this does not have hyper-threading... Did not realize until installed. Oh well. The only thing I will add is that if you are going to do hard-core gaming with this, upgrade the fan and heatsink. It heated a little faster than I desired at 60 to 65 C range with more gpu intensive games, whereas cpu intensive games reached 70 C. It could be just me though.
