Upgraded Q6600 to this CPU and the difference is HUGE. Have yet to overclock but still runs fast as hell.Got it on a bundle sale with motherboard so was very cheap.

Hi all,I bought this and until now is very powerfull.I really enjoyed my computer with this CPUThe only thing that is negative...is that they came out with a more powerfull chip i7 2600 which is similar prices but better quality,...ohh well, i only got it for one month and intel came out with new series of cheap...cheaper and better...

Cons: Slightly pricey (compared to AMD)

Pros: Fast, no heatsink
Comment:
Windows 7 recognizes this as 8 cores due to the hyperthreading, and I usually see it balancing the running to 4 of them at a time. Games run nicely on two and since it runs SC2 on ultra I haven't tried overclocking yet. The option is there for me in a year when I want itI got this in a bundle so the price wasn't that much more than AMD, and for most things it will slightly outperform the Thuban according to some reviews I read. This sure does fly when running multicored apps that will use all you have though! I put the big custom noctua heatsink on it so it runs quite cool in my HAF

Cons: The price could be better it was a big investment but worth every cent.

Pros: This is the best chip I have purchased from intel.

I am a system builder and have had limited expirience with most of the 13,15 and i7 both in 1156 and 1366 platforms and with exception of the 980x this is the next closest in my opinion. With the right mainboard you can tell the difference betwen the 870 and 875k. I am using this on a maximus III mainboard with all the overclocking bells and whistles and cooled with Noctua and Mushkin Ridgebacks 6-8-6-21 and with the clock on default its amazing to get such a speed increase without playing with bus speeds and voltages. I would recomend this chip over the 870 and most of the 900 series chips. The price could come down with ncix but price matched for $350 and good shipping.

Was planned to buy an i7-860 but it came out at ~$300 in June, which is comparable to i7-860, so went for this one instead. This CPU has unlocked multiplier so it OC likes king. However it does not come with a stock cooler so be prepared to get one.

Cons: if used with air cooled system, it's not a big improvement over the I7-870

Pros: Scale well for oc at 4Ghz
Comment:
Performance look alike the i7-870, it's not like a "D0" version. Maybe with a good liquid cool system you will see more benefit to it, but for air cool no big differences then the I7-870.Used with Gigabyte P55A-UD4P, ram G.Skill Ripjaw 2000, bclk set at 200

Cons: if this makes any sense - it's less fun to overclock than the I7 920

Pros: price, performance, easy overclocking, good for beginners, excellent performance at stock
Comment:
-Nice overclocks on this chip with only multiplier increase. I'm running 27x multiplier at 3610mhz. I'm not going for any crowns, just a 24/7 overclock with power saving features on. so far so stable.-I would use a nice balance of multiplier and bclk increases to get your desired overclock. Some sights I've checked indicate only a small gain in performance from a bclk overclock vs a multiplier, and then only for synthetic tests.Even though I'm doing it at the moment, I'm still a little cautious about how increasing multipliers raises your tdp. On my old I7 920 it was all about the bclk and 21x mulitplier. With a 19x mulitiplier the tdp would decrease. Bonus!

Wow. Great Quad Core CPU for almost anything you can think about. Doesn't come with a heatsink so you'll need to buy one. Great overclockability!

Cons: 45nm process?needs to be on deal

Pros: UnlockedTop or near top binned part
Comment:
solid processor the unlocked multiplier is a very nice feature. being a long time Intel user and not wanting to spend $1000 plus on a cpu, i had never had the pleasure of using an unlocked chip before. Rock stable 3.9Ghz at less then 1.3v with the 23 multiplier in my case.runs very cool even with power saving off and hyper threading on. If you can get it for 300 like i did it is well worth the price premium for a top binned Intel chip, at 400 though the i5 750 starts looking attractive again though.

Pros: Unlocked MultiplierTurbo Boost Price
Comment:
This chip is awesome. Its just an i7 870, but the unlocked multiplier really unleashes this thing. With very little effort, and on air, I took it from 2.93ghz to 4.49ghz(24x and 1.45v). It was completely stable for an hour long test. I plan to push it further on water as I'm confident the 875k can handle it. The best part about this CPU is the price though. Eight threads at 4.4+ghz for roughly half the price of an 870? Its a no brainer, the i7 875k is the best 1156 chip made.If you buy this chip, i recommend complementing it with a decent motherboard. Take advantage of its full potential.

Cons: 45nm

Pros: Great overclocking capacity
Comment:
This CPU could easily be overclocked at 4.0 GHz. It runs stable and could compete with high end CPUs. If it was made in 32nm instead of 45nm this would be a beast like no other.
