Cons: -Runs hot when overclocking past 3.6GHz

Pros: -cheaper than i7-870-hyperthreading-nice little upgrade from i3-540
Comment:
Running this chip at 4.0Ghz with 1.325V (set in BIOS), jumping to 1.386V during testing(cpu-z). Temps hit low 90's during 8 threads of intel burn test. Any higher voltage and the chip would overheat and shutdown. The H50 cooler is just barely able to handle the heat. This chip gets me about 20k ppd in folding,l and can handle any game at the moment. Core Temp reports this chip as an i7-860s, not sure what thats all about. Oh well, It does 4.0GHz so I'm happy.

Cons: lower clock speed than the retail counterparts at similar TDP

Pros: thermal performance, speed step, idle consumption, price
Comment:
This product shouldn't be marketed as a server chip, but a workstation chip. That being said, I was incredibly impressed with this CPU when I was stress testing it. The multiplier sits at 9x at idle, and the moment I hit the start button on Prime95, the shift to 20x is perfectly seamless. What's more impressive is when I hit stop, the multiplier drops back down to 9x and the temps are back down to idle temps within 2 seconds. These things run exceptionally cool as well. According to the Gigabyte utility, the processor uses 23W at idle and 104W at full load. (accuracy should be questionable though, although in the right ballpark)My only gripe with this chip is the significantly lower clock speed compared to retail quad cores with the same TDP. (although this is way cheaper)

Cons: None so far

Pros: Good price. Quad core with HT under $250
Comment:
This cpu is almost the same as an i7 860 but only with lower clock speed. It has all those fancy technology such as HT and Turbo boost. It overclocks very well. After price match it seems you get an i7 under the price of $250.

Cons: Stock cooler.

Pros: Easily overclocks, priced nicely and it's a i7. Works with most P55 boards too.
Comment:
Best CPU, PM's down to $240. A i7 under $250 is awesome. Took like 3 weeks to get it in, but heck it's a Xeon so stock won't be large.
