Pros: -Amazing cpu-Fast-Stays very cool under load-Excellent processor for multitasking Comment:
I purchased this processor to replace my AMD FX-8150 as I had read so many great reviews of this proc. They didn't lie. The Intel Core i7 3820 is incredible. Not to say that the FX chip isn't good, because it is. Just not the right proc. for me.I have to give the i7 3820 full marks on this review, as I have yet to find anything that it isn't able to handle. One of the best purchases I have made. And got it when it was on sale for $299.99, excellent purchace and would highly recommend this processor to anyone. As a matter of fact, I already have.Buy it! Your won't regret it. The motherbards are a little pricey but I believe that the price/performance for the cpu is worth every penny. I am running it on an MSI X79A-GD45(8D)with a Corsair H80 liquid cooler and it is rockin!! Love it.Just my two cents. Cheers everyone. |

Cons: Not fully unlocked (seriously doesn't matter, it's a solid overclocker)Requires a slightly more expensive motherboard
Pros: Cheaper then an 1155 i7Fast and a solid overclockerRuns ice cold under my H100PCI-E 3.0 supportFaster than my 2500k Comment:
I bought this to replace my 2500k rig I sold to a friend. Although all I do is mostly game, it cost me an extra $40 to go with this and a solid motherboard versus a 2600k.I must say I am very impressed with how cool this chip runs. Maybe I got a magic chip because from what I have read, this seems cool, and is cooler then my 2500k was. I am getting 25C idle and 47C load with an H100 in push. Some people whine about motherboard prices, but this chip was $30 cheaper then a 2600k, making it a perfect solution for my gaming needs. Not to mention 2 x GTX 680's will love the extra PCI lanes. |

Cons: Not fully unlocked, no t-shirt
Pros: Affordable lga2011 chip with great number. Comment:
Great CPU, Great number. Paired it with a Rampage IV, this is a beast, a bit more powerful than my previous build; an i5 2500k. Of course i recommend it. Havnt got the free t-shirt bundleded with but thats not a big deal. Good deal for 350$ but if you got the cash go for the k or X series, you will probably get more bang for your bucks.Fast shipping, Great services. |

Pros: - Great Preformance- Cool running chip, Amazing overclocker. Comment:
Purchased under the account 604-513-1925 for Verification. Purchased this LGA2011 chip roughly a week ago with my new Asus X79 Sabertooth. This was an upgrade from my old Q8200 quad, and right away with some benchmarking I noticed a solid 150 percent increase in preformance. This particual chip has faired me very well so far. It seems to run nice and cool and with my Corsair H80 and some aftermarket nocuta fans I've managed 4.6ghz running 100 percent stable and 4.4ghz with some nice high RAM OC's. That being said temperatures have also stayed cool and below 78C running extreme burn tests. Well worth the money. |

Pros: Extremely powerful, runs cool Comment:
I bought this chip for $319, and it's truly an amazing chip for the money. the i7 3820 and my P9x79 board replaced my amd build and the performance is easily noticeable. With the right cooler, proper installation, and case setup, my 3820 runs d around 40 degrees with full load. For cooling I am using a H100 push pull configuration, and it seems to be working great so far. |

Cons: Double latch mount on the motherboards, more potential for people to bend pins or improperly mount.
Pros: Amazing performance for the money, Runs cool Comment:
I "downgraded" from an i7 970 6 core to this new LGA2011 offering from Intel. A 4% performance loss according to online benchmarks. Considering i7 970s still sell for almost double the MSRP of the 3820, this chip is a performance bargain and once you have that LGA2011 motherboard it opens you to a new gateway of upgrades as newer more decked out 6-8core chips appear in this new LGA2011 line. The X79 motherboards to accompany these chips feature true Intel SATAIII, a major performance boost from the X58's Marvell SATAIII port along with more memory and PCI bus bandwidth.Runs cooler than my old LGA1366 using the same Corsair H70. 28C idle43C under loadExcited for things to come from Intel. |

Cons: - Toasty chips
Pros: - 8 Logical cores- Price compared to it's brethren- PCI-e 3.0 support (at the time of writing)- Partially unlocked/locked, so still OC'able Comment:
Well, if you are looking into this ship, then you must have some financial considerations and are not willing to pay double or triple for chips that will only see full utilization under heavy workstation worklaods and yet this one is still and excellent workstation chip - no gaming under this chip. |

Bought this Chip for an new gaming rig, the performance is awesome. With an H100 on this, 4.6G runs at just over 60 under Intel burn test, normal load is just over 40. If you decide to keep it at 4.3G you can keep Vcore on auto and all the power saving features on, with temperatures around 55 under IBT.
