Used this chip for a business build. Sandy Bridge was the way to go. No matter the price difference for cheaper builds, none seemed to fill the gap of performance to be worth the savings. I rather spend a bit more and get the value and performance from sandy bridge chips. |

Cons: heat a little bit with included heatsink

This is a great CPU, pretty fast to run windows seven x64.The CPU is heating a little bit at 75c with coretemp or 58c with thermal sensor of the motherboard.The included heatsink is a little bit deceiving. not enough cooling for any overclocking you may want to try.Anyway with any overclocking you always want to buy a third party solution, so this is not really a problem. |

This was a good deal with the bundle I got it with on NCIX.com. I got it to replace an older Q6600 that had its mobo blown due to a power outage and surge. Anyway this seems to be faster and snappier with a seat of the pants evaluation. I'd get this if you need a cheap alternative to higher priced i7's. |

This is a great processor. It deserve its good reputation. It is running on a motherboard with the H67 chipset and Windows 7 (64 bits) and everything loads very fast. I can play HD movie without any shadow of lagging. |
I bought this CPU for a budget gaming PC for my uncle. Can't complain, good price vs performance. If you have the money go for the i7.
