Stable, fast and quiet. I upgraded from my Intel 8400 simply because games such as Black Ops just didn't play that well. Utilizing a somewhat dated MSI 275 with my older processor added to hard game play with these new higher demanding games. Well I can only inform you that due to the fact upgrading I can play Black ops with absolute smoothness thanks to high frame prices. Even though I do program on upgrading my video card at a later time it undoubtedly isn't needed at this point with existing games obtainable aside from possibly Directx 11 capabilities. None This issue is fast, really quick. Purchase one particular!

What's not to like??? This CPU rocks! I do a lot of 3D rendering and this processor makes light perform of it. Anything it took hours to do on my old Core two Duo, takes minutes to do on this 1. Cost, but hey it's pretty new so I can live with it. I combined this CPU with a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3 motherbpard and it seems like a very good match. Purchased each here and 8GB of GSkill Ripjaws X 1600 memory and it runs good.

Uncomplicated to install. Simply put it in and go. Thermal Paste that comes on heat sink does do anything at all. Hooked up my make turned it on, and thank the man upstairs that nowadays's CPU's prevent themselves from overheating or I would have been P'd off. I just completed my create so I haven't really been able to play with it to much. Just wanted to warn everyone, the guidelines for your MOBO might say "if heat sink currently has thermal paste do not apply/sick this step" IGNORE this. Whatever thermal paste they have on the bottom doesn't perform, so make sure you nonetheless apply thermal paste to this CPU.

8Mb of L3 cache, Intel integrated HD 2000 graphics, Quad-Core operating every single ʃ.40GHz, Hyperthreading technology which practically permits an additional 4 cores but you actually have to be employing some critical multi threading applications to make it use function...bottomline this processor is a BEAST and its not even unlocked. Purchased the processor first pondering it will sell out but it was the motherboard that was recalled thus I had a rediculously rapidly processor and no motherboard for it. If you are a gamer or are a graphics kind of individual then you could want to go with the H67 chipset Motherboards to knowledge the HD graphics at a greater level. This processor is a excellent acquire if you are not a over-clocking guru. Even if you are a significant gamer this processor is far more than sufficient 4 cores running ʃ.40GHz and 3.8GHz with turbo increase...yeah I say thats plenty rapidly. This Processor is blazing quickly and runs at cool temperatures. Has far more than sufficient energy for a regular user and is wonderful for a power user. No over clocking but I wont take off any eggs for it contemplating more than clocking is just not needed with this processor. Wonderful is the initially word that jumps to mind when I consider of this processor and I wouldn't settle for something much less.

Quickly stock clock speed with an further 400 MHz obtainable by way of Intel's speed increase, Hyperthreading (giving the program access to 8 logical cores), not a large power hog Expensive (relatively). Overclockers should certainly shell out the additional capital for an unlocked 'K' version as this stock a single is not readily tweaked. Upgrading from a Core 2 quad I was concerned this processor wouldn't make a lot of a distinction. I was incorrect. The new Sandy Bridge architecture combined with hyperthreading makes this processor one particular mean device. It's ridiculously overpowered for gaming, but if you do any CGI rendering or video transcoding (especially HD video), this is quite possibly the leading commercially attainable selection perfect now. For all it's energy it runs pretty cool with the stock heatsink, while it could be a high quality thought to throw on an immediately after industry cooler if you're going to run it challenging for extended periods of time.

Works. Quiet stock fan. Cool (all 4 cores hang about 83 degrees fahrenheit at idle according to HWMonitor). Got this processor for my new Hackintosh. Very impressed with the speed. I use all cores and theads for development, and HT really makes large distinction. It's locked, so you can't overclock "properly". Nevertheless, at this speed, do you seriously need to have to?

Quickly out of the box for these who don't have the wish to overclock.Super effortless install.Shattered preceding benchmarks for programs being run. Only concern would be the Cougar 6 SATA II problem on the mobo, but that has been resolved. We use this processor to run a numerical weather prediction model which is incredibly, incredibly CPU intensive. This i7 2600 is 31% more quickly than the earlier record benchmark set by the i7 950 and AMD 6-core 1100.

It is a really quick processor quad core processor with each and every core running at three.40GHz is additional than enough. You can tweak this processor nevertheless, unless you know what you are carrying out it is not recommended can lead to an unstable technique so beware. The imbedded HD graphics is an additional wonderful feature only observed on these Sandy bridge processors fantastic if you are working with a H67 chipset. I have none and if I did it would have to be the price, but its worth it if you want a beasty processor and clearly not unlocked. This processor alone is much more than you'll will need, nevertheless if you are looking to do critical overclocking then examine out the i52500k, i72600k, those processors are unlocked and you can do way more than this particular one. Before you buy, do your homework(research) and see what CPU is superior for you either pay an extra 30 bucks for the unlocked i7 CPU or just get this 1.My Setup:Asus IV Maximus(REV. three)Intel Core i7-2600 G.Ability Ripjaws X series 8GbƒX's 4Gb)EVGA GeForce SE (Fermi) 1Gb 256bit Rosewill Bronze series 1000WImportant RealSSD for OSWestern Digital Caviar Blue 640Gb for storageWindows 7 Ultimate

I got this suitable prior to they noted the recall. Works wonderful so far, like the more than clocking choices and possibilities. Here is a breakdown.- Good Interface for Bios- Nice in OS tools for Overclocking and Monitoring- Tons of ports of just about every type such as USB three. and Bluetooth- 32 GB Limit on Memory Sandybridge transitor problem. But since it has four Sata 6. ports ƒ Harddrives in raid, blueray and a thing else) It is not a major deal given that I will never use the 3. port that is the dilemma. When they come out with a fixed version of this, get it. It is fantastic. I will be popping in an additional 6870 in crossfire soon.

Rapidly.Worked great first boot.Installation was straightforward.Did not come with sand. Stock fan runs a tiny hot, but I guess that goes for all CPUs.I'll likely clean it and put some Arctic Silver on it this week to see if that assists any.Additional high-priced than I'd like, but not as undesirable as I expected. Overclocks itself when necessary (video rendering, complex math, opening World wide web Explorer) and tones back when it makes sense to.Runs about 100F in my poorly cooled situation at complete load for a couple of minutes. Not too undesirable for stock every little thing. If you don't like this CPU, I accept donations. twitter.com/oneseventeen

Came from a Q9650 and if you are on C2D QUad 775 then this is YOUR upgrade ! This CPU truly shines out in RENDERING Speed. An h264 encode on the old cpu took four hours on a single pass, this monster did it in an HOUR and 16mins !!! the heatsink, during the encode (full load) temps went up to 74 celcius!! Will need to locate a far better cooler. It idles at 26 celcius. bit of a finding out curve throughout the CPU install. Not hard but I had to pay attention. wish intel would have supplied a better heatsink. I dont overclock so this (locked) cpu is fine for me, the GB mobo i am utilizing bumped this up to three.7 proper off the bat.
