Even though it is expensive it is still well worth it. Haven't had any issues with it.

My first i7 processor and am definitely satisfied with it. handles anything I throw at it and stays pretty cool under load. Awesome bang for buck too

Cons: - If you plan on overclocking, get the 3770k.

Pros: - Extremely Fast- Price- Performance- Average below 40 degrees with stock fan.
Comment:
I bought this processor when it was on sale for $260! I had no issues with it so far, as it can handle extreme use and stay below 40 degrees. Should have went for 3770 k, since my build comprises many components that can be overclocked, such as motherboard, graphics card, ram, and high quality PSU. I would definitely recommend this processor to anyone who doesn't plan on overclocking.

I bought this CUP with ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe ATX LGA1155 Z77 for my new build. CUP is around 30C while idle and 50C when under light stress.

Cons: Runs really hot if you OC it past 4.3 Ghz

Pros: Unlike 3770K, this has vt-d (I seriously don't know why K doesn't have it when even old Core Duos do), which is a must for virtualization
Comment:
Got this to replace an aging E8400, to be used for gaming, moderate Photoshop and most importantly, running VMware. Absolutely love it. Extremely fast, uses little power.. Basically all the advantages of Ivy Bridge. 4 cores + hyperthreading is extremely convenient for programs that can use it (like Photoshop and VMware), as they run ~50-80% faster compared to a pure 4-core CPU at same clock speed (i.e. 3570K).Downside? Even with a decent cooler (CoolerMaster Hyper 212+), you can't OC it very much. With my board (Asus P8Z77-V), I can unlock the multiplier up to 43x. However, once you go past 4.2-4.3 GHz (default Turbo is 3.9 GHz), it starts to run really hot. At 4.3 it's around 70C, and when you also change the FSB, temps go way up. At 4.5 GHz I got around 80-85C while running Prime95. CPU was still running stable, so you should be able to push it there or even a little further with a good water cooler. I have no need to and was merely curious.

Cons: can't overclock but cheaper

Pros: good value, fast, quiet
Comment:
I bought 1 of this for my friend, he doesn't know how to overclock and we all know that ivy is hard to oc so 3770 is just fine for us.With the same price of 2600k, 2700k, we definitely wanna go for the next gen. Why buy an old cpu for the same price? Until the 4770 is out, I would say it's still the best value high end cpu.

Cons: Stock cooler is junkRuns hot

Pros: FastReasonable price if on sale
Comment:
Unless you plan on overclocking this is a great processor to get great performance while saving a few bucks. Make sure you have a well vented case or an aftermarket cooler as the processor runs very hot.

Cons: Included heatsink is not very good.

Pros: Very Fast, easy installation.
Comment:
This chip is amazing. Fastest processor I've ever installed. It runs very cool. I just wish Intel would bundle their chips with a better heatsink, the stock one leaves something to be desired.

Pros: Good price, reliable

Just built a socket 1155 system. Installed windows 8. Works very fast. Nothing seems to hang it up. I have a gtx 570 hd and 16 gigs of corsair. I can play skyrim almost full on a 24 inch. So all in all happy. I don't oc, so I went with the cheaper 3770.

Pros: Solid High End CPU
Comment:
Wanted a high end CPU, but don't care about OCing. 3770 fits the requirements pretty nicely.Quad core and HT for 8 threads, all in a 77W package is incredible price performance for today. It performs nicely, and provides good multithreaded computing power.

Cons: Lack of Unlocked Multiplayer (See: 3770k), Lackluster Stock Heatsink

Pros: Fast Processor, Reasonably Priced, OC'able
Comment:
This is a great CPU for the average user. Fantastic speeds and just works great. The stock heatsink leaves a little to be desired, but the 212+ from Cooler Master can be picked up cheaply ($20) and allow for plenty of room for overclocking. However, if you're looking for OC'ing, pick up the 3770k instead. For everyone else, this will easily suffice and succeeds as a very high-end CPU for intensive work.

This thing is great. If you really don't need to overclock to 4.8 GHz, this is for you. Even for a locked processor, with the right motherboard, I was able to clock this to 4.2 GHz with fairly minimal effort and high stability

Cons: - Limited overclocking with non-K version- on-board graphics are passable at best

Pros: - Very Fast CPU- Very cool
Comment:
I stepped up to this CPU from my previous Core 2 Quad 9300 and this is quite a step up! This CPU is blazing fast for my use in Photoshop and Premiere. The main downside is that the on-board GPU is not very powerful (not really an issue in my case as I use a discrete GPU). Also, if you're interested in overclocking, you should look at the 3770K as your options will be limited with this CPU (again, not an issue for me since I don't overclock). All in all, a fantastic CPU, you won't be disappointed.

A great processor for my new build. It is fast and has all of Intel's bells and whistles. I got this version instead of the K version as I need the virtualization and I didn't want to bother to overclock.

This is an excellent processor, and in my opinion is the best deal right now amongst extremely well-performing processors. I discovered this processor runs a couple of degrees hotter than my 2600 (also 3.4Ghz) in identical conditions.

Pros: Fast and cool running.
Comment:
Bought this to replace my AMD 965 BE. This seems to run nice and cool (around 32 degrees) and is very fast. I have been unable to slow it down no matter how much I throw at it. Is definitely overkill, but I'm not going to upgrade the board and CPU for a few years, so it should tide me over for a while before it seems slow.
