Cons: none as of yet.

Pros: 4 CoresHyper threadingUnlocked for easy OC
Comment:
I've loved this core since I purchased it. Have it on stable OC at 4.9Ghz with a corsair H100i and it holds 58 degrees under load. Very sweet chip.

Pros: - Fast- Stable- Very high overclocking capability

I've bought this for the first gaming rig I built almost a year ago and it haven't failed me yet. Tears apart any tasks/games I throw at it!

Cons: - None so far

Pros: - Amazing Processor
Comment:
Got this processor on October 2012 for $290 (was cheaper last October/November compared to now). Does every task I give it with no problems. 4.2Ghz and 40 degrees C after 2 hours of gaming looks good to me (using Cooler Master hyper 212).c$290 when I got it a year ago.. it was the best choice. However, if you are only gaming and are tight on budget then you don't need anything more than a 3570k or equivalent.Detecting bad sectors on 1TB HDDs using this CPU takes 2 minutes compared to laptop i7's which was at 10% after 30 minutes.

Cons: High temperature.

Pros: Powerful CPU that is more than adequate for gaming.
Comment:
The temperatures for my particular chip are slightly higher than I am comfortable with. After a mild over clock to 4.4 Ghz, temperatures were hitting 85 Celsius in Prime95. Temperatures in games are 70+ degrees. (Using Corsair h100i cooler)

Cons: - Very expensive- Doesn't support some virtualization features that other processors do

Pros: - OC'd to 4.5 GHz on a UD5H with a H100 cooler easily- Very fast
Comment:
Went from a Q6600 to this beast and it was night and day difference. The amount of processing power is just absolutely phenomenal. The 8 threads of execution just absolutely chew through everything you throw at them.

Review Date: 05/20/13
Cons: none that I can see

Pros: the fact that it isn't an i5
Comment:
My buddy said go with an I5, why waste another $100 on a chip that is the same speed as the I&. Most of your games won't use the hyperthreading, nor will the 33% more cache be apparent. The 1mhz difference between an I5 and I7 is negligible. So I listened to my buddy and ordered the I5 and when I went to pick it up.... I had a change of heart...It is only a $100 more. In comparison in 2007 the next increment for a processor was more then several hundreds of dollars. For $100, I am pretty much guaranteed to have the top of the 1155 processors at this time. This will also mean that photoshop will enjoy my 4 hyperthreads even if my games don't. The extra 33% more cache will ensure that my test programs that gives me an index number will always be 33% more then an I5 and lastly I heard that an I7 will overclock more readily then an I5. If not, at least I have 1mhz more then a stock I5.So for a $100 more, buy the I7; at least you will never regret your decision where-as if you buy an I5, you have a 33% chance of regretting your purchase....

I was always told that Ivy bridge got really hot. I've got this baby up to 4.7GHz on STOCK voltage on a Maximus V Formula. I am, needless to say, very impressed. The quicksync perk is awesome too:D

Perfect for a heavy video editting/graphics design rig. If you're looking for great performance for those types of tasks but don't want to break the bank going for LGA2011, there's pretty much no better choice.

Review Date: 01/31/13
Cons: - Overclocks a bit worse than a 2700K with heat as the limiting factor. Mine did 4.7 at ~85C in IBT or 4.8 at ~95C.

Pros: - Slightly faster than the 2700k at stock.- Very low power usage at stock speed.- Paired with a Z77 motherboard, enables a lot of new features like intel usb 3.0, pci-e 3.0, lucid MVP, better memory overclocking cap.
Comment:
The new Ivy Bridge processors are generally about 2% - 10% faster at the same clockspeed as the comparable Sandy Bridge (in this case the 2700k). However, they also overclock a bit lower as well, so the overclocked performance is mostly a wash even with high end cooling. It is still the processor to get since its about the same price with slightly lower power consumption when overclocked, enables new features on Z77, and hopefully will overclock better with some cooling innovations in the future.I ended up running mine at 4.7 for daily use, which is roughly about as fast as a 5 ghz 2700K.
