Cons: Need to be technically competent to install, as the mobo needs to come out of the case for the install, but other than that the installation is straightforward.

Pros: QUIET....have to look to see if its running!
Comment:
Best cooler I have used, without going to liquid cooling. My 20% overclocked P4 3.4 GHZ (4.2Ghz)has dropped 12 deg C under high demand, idles at 28C. Outstanding product. I will be ordering another one for my sons E6600, which we just replaced due to overheating. Understand, this cooler is humungous, so be prepared, this thing is not for the faint of heart to install. Once its in, you will have no regrets. My limiter now is mobo temp which is running 15 - 20 degrees hotter than the CPU, guess its time for a larger mobo fan!2 issues which I saw further down the reviews. If you want to be able to move the sink to another machine later, do not remove the sticky back paper from the side of the spacer going against the mobo, other wise its a very difficult task. Just in case I went one step further and put a piece of thin mica sheet(used for heat sink electical insulation) between the mobo and the spacer to prevent possible damage. I also noticed the copper heat sink plate was not perfectly flat, and lapped it to correct the problem. That might have not made any difference provided enough heat sink compound was used, but rather than take a chance on it, I opted to spend the additional time. Cons: Massive and akward.

Pros: Incredible cooling with minimal noise. Compatible with many socket types.
Comment:
This is the best CPU heatsink I have owned. The fan RPMs are so low my mobo thinks there's a problem! You can bring your temperature a long way down with this. It does have some issues with case clearance, and a small screwdriver is essential as a you'll need to get behind the heatsink to attached it to mobo. Make sure it is secured too, or its weight could pull it off and possibly damage the mobo or processor.

Cons: it's huge, but that's a good thing too depending how you look at it.

Pros: Awesome cooling, really quiet, looks awesome
Comment:
I don't know why people complain about the install of this thing. The included instructions were straight forward, easy to understand. Installation was a breeze. The thing is so quiet you hardly know it's there. I'll be honest, im scared to stand my case upright tho... it's a hella big heat sync. But other than that 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended.

Cons: Size may be an issue in smaller cases. Difficult install.

Pros: Very quiet, cools very well.
Comment:
I like this one ... so far it has cooled my e8400 better than any other air cooler. I was a bit hard to install, but once done correctly, its very secure. It's very quite, even at medium fan speed. Be sure to use high quality compound for best results.

Cons: For the price, look for the Ultra 120 Extreme instead, it's MUCH better.

Pros: Nice cooler, the look is interesting, not more..
Comment:
I bought this a long time ago, it's a nice heatsink but nowadays you better go with the Ultra 120 Extreme which is WAY better and in the same price range.

Cons: Backplate

Pros: Big, i mean really big !!!
Comment:
Good heatsink with good fan on it too, been running ok for 1 year now, with cpu idling at 30C at idle and 35-40 at loads.A winner.EDIT: 2 years of use : Do not buy it if you plan to reuse it again for new build. The adhesive and the backplate does not come off easy, and in the process of attempting to take it off i managed to destroy old motherboard. It's like super glue , will not come off without doing damage to the board. Plus the backplate is not really desined too well, it does not fit flush with most motherboards, as seems like some motherboads have capacitors with their ends poking at the back, thus the backplate will be pushing on them and will not be flush !! Cons: - Heavy- Difficult installation

Pros: - Great cooling- Incompatibility with motherboard is rare because the cooler is high

Great performance from a large cooler. The fan is okay, it can get on your nerve sometimes. The installation is the downfall of this product. There is better or just the same for the same price I say.

Cons: Not click 'n fit.... just as well, given it's sizePoor finish on CPU plate

Pros: Great coolingCompletely silentFan blows down and through the heat sink... cooling RAM and chipset to
Comment:
It took a little while to figure the instructions out but straight forward to fit on a new build with the MB already out of the case.Spent 45 mins lapping this (while backing up my old system before the rebuild). This was probably important since the initial lapping showed that the plate was concave, clearly touching only the outside edges of the heatsink first. You could spot this by eye. 30 mins later it was flat and true.Solid fastening mechanism - reasuring given the size. Fitted easily on GA-P35-DS3P and can be oriented any way if necessary.Cools amazingly... Q6600 (G0 stepping) at 26C idle, rises 34C with all 4 cores at 100% burn testing after an hour. System temp constant at 32C. I couldn't be happier... will explore OC the Q6600 with confidence.Very happy with the purchase and performance.

It took a while to install, but it was my first time actually taking my mobo out.Even though I put excess thermal paste on, it puts my idle CPU temperature down to 21 degrees Celsius (CPU: stock AMD 4200+ X2).

Overall I'm very impressed with this Heatsink so far. My first impression was that it's absolutely gigantic. I mean... I knew it would be large... but this thing is huge. It fills out the case makes the cpu look twice as important; in fact, you might not be able to fit it in your case. I'm lucky, my case is large enough that it allows about an inch or so of airflow above the fan.The mounting system will probably require that you remove your motherboard so expect a time consuming setup. I'd say it's worth it though, at least for lga775, it's better than the mounting system used on the stock heatsinks. All this aside, the thing does what it's supposed to and cooled my overheating Pentium D 820 by about 10 degrees C with some better thermal compound.

Cons: - A little huge. Installation was easy on my socket 939 but the screw near the back side of my case was very hard to tighten because there wasn't much room to have my fingers under the heatsink.

Pros: - Totaly silent.- Simply the most performant heatsink.- Compatible with almost every socket.
Comment:
If you want the best heatsink (performance / silence), you found the good one. It's entirely worth the price.I've been able to easily overclock my Athlon64 X2 3800+ from 2.0Ghz (1.35v) to 2.8Ghz (1.45v)while staying under 35Celcius. My cpu is cooler than my northbridge lol.

Cons: Big, hard to install, CPU fan cable is short,

Pros: Cools very well, Not loud
Comment:
Well for a gaming computer I was building I wanted it to be cooled by fans. I know that core 2 cpu do not make as much heat as the older intels but I got this just to be on the safe side. I though it would be big but when I saw got it, Man big is not the words for it. You will need a big case for this thing and a well space apart mobo as some parts of the mobo can get in the way. As for the case well I using a full tower and it only got about 1.5" from the side window for the fan to do air flow. When trying to install this on my P5N32-SLI SE DELUXE it almost over lapped some of the parts around the CPU and had to be moved around till right. (Note: If you buy one and you own a P5N32-SLI mobo be sure the cable for the fan cable is at the top or facing the RAM slots or the fan cable will not reach the CPU fan connector). All in all it does a good job of keeping the CPU cool and is not loud for it size. it may take time to install but it a good investment for keeping your CPU alive longer. Cons: Upgraded version a better fit for some motherboards

Pros: Good cooling, low noise, excellent build quality
Comment:
This is an excellent cooler. With the appropriate thermal interface, you'll definitely have good cooling results. I have my 6600 Core 2 running at mid 50's at 3.2GHz. Nothing uber but solid results from a nearly silent cooler. I suggest looking at the upgraded version (VX?) with fits into 775 sockets without the bottom clamp. I certainly recommend this product.

Cons: Finish on copper base had scratchesInstallation is elaborate1 screw had poor threading (making it difficult to use)

Pros: Great performanceOne of the top heatsink designsFan and grill includedFan power cable is sleevedWell packaged
Comment:
First of all, kudos to NCIX. I recieved my order less than 24 hours after I placed it (Purolator Air) which is extremely fast IMO. I was disappointed to see scratches on the copper base, I was expecting a higher quality finish. Installation from start to end took me about 45 minutes; the instructions included did not slow me down. Installation itself is a little complex, but given the design and weight of the heatsink, every step is justified. Clearance between the heatpipes on the heatsink and the heatpipe cooling on my motherboard (Asus P5W) is close, maybe 5-7mm. I thought the overall packaging was well done with everything is in neat little zip-lock bags. With my Core 2 6400 overclocked to 3.2Ghz, I saw a reduction in my idle and load temps of about 15 degrees Celcius from stock cooling. You will notice a increase in noise from stock cooling, however, thats just the sound of increased airflow and not the fan itself. I had high expectations of this product and I felt the vast majority of them were met. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-27-06 02:51 PM
