My Core two Duo E4500 overclocked to 2.75ghz is running at one hundred% capacity for much more than 80% of the day, as effectively as my Nvidia GeForce 8600 鲤% ᥐ%/day), and my core temps under no circumstances exceed 61 degrees celcius. This is incredibly fantastic for that overclock, and contemplating the uptime, and the gfx card heat.At stock clock, the Cpu boots to inside five or six degrees celcius of ambient (room temp). Also very very good. The blue LED is a bit of a gimmick. But, I guess im not overly unhappy seeing it by means of my side window. (actually its kinda cool..not actually a con, heh heh) I built this machine appropriate right after winter 2007. it has definitly observed its use and the CPU is definitly broken in (couldnt get it to o.c. past two.four for the first 6 months..then all of the sudden, it would go like a charm)Would fefinitly recommend this for a mid-tier dual or quad processor. Duals and DDR2 is so affordable right now!

It operates good. Three strong years and it functions like the day I bought it. Whats with the mounting system? Not very good. It's nearly not possible to get the top rated two clips in without bending the copper, cutting your hands or scraping your mobo. And my case is certainly not small. Any time I have to do a thing with my cpu, It's a nightmare. I have, even so got it down to a science. It only took me 3 years.

Excellent fan! I purchased this to replace my stock fan on my Phenom 9950. Worked wonders for my cpu temp. After receiving this fan I overclocked my cpu to 3. just to test it out and right after a complete load of gaming I have in no way gotten more than 40c, which is fantastic, and I nevertheless have the fan on the lowest setting. It is a relatively substantial fan, It didnt fit in my case without modifying my side panel. Also, you will most most likely have to take your motherboard out to install this. At least I did with my case. Just a thing to assume about. Other than that, nothing at all negative I can think of. Make certain to measure your rig to see if it will match.

Very good job cooling. Excellent heatsink and cool led fan. It is a pain to put on and take off. The things Thermaltake doesnt show you is how this is attacked to your motherboard. The four flimsy plastic peices are horrible. I was taking mine off this morning and one of the small pieces inside the plastic broke, rendering my, Whole 60 DOLLAR HEATSINK AND THAOSAND DOLLAR Personal computer, useless. Thanks Thermaltake. It was such a modest piece of plastic I had a difficult time locating it in my carpet. And the challenge is that if ANY of the little tiny pieces brake, your entire heatsink cant be mounted. Thermaltake puts sooooooo significantly into their design that they forget that the factor nonetheless requirements to have even basic function...... if i cant take my heatsink on and off with no the uncomplicated peices of plastic breaking, then why would i get from thermaltake once more? I'm going zalman now. I cant think such a pansy component that just just attaches the heatsink to my mobo, broke so simply.

Functions wonderful! keeps my E8400 overclocked to 4.0GHz at 42C idle. which is a little warm, but cool adequate for me. The pins that hold the heatsink to the motherboard are a discomfort to take off. but they hold nicely once they're on. good blue light. looks cool when inside the comp.

Wonderful job at cooling.ten degrees down from stock cooler.Appears Fantastic!Speed controller functions properly.Blue fan LED. SUPER hard to set up on a 939 socket board (if you're lazy like me and didn't want to take your board out of the case. LOL)Extremely tall heatsink!Very tough to clean. (read other thoughts)Doesn't sit too tight on a 939 socket, you can slighty rotate it.At one hundred% fan speed, it sounds like a microwave.Fins are flimsy and weak. 1 currently broke off, couple are halfway there. Got it utilised from a buddy who owned it for about a year and it was DIRTY! Took about an hour to get it to Almost shine like new with an old toothbrush and like ten Q-ideas (short of working with copper cleaner on it). Took one more good 30-45 minutes just to set up trigger I was also lazy to take the motherboard out. I have a fairly big midATX case and it's so tall to the point where the side panel BARELY clears it. Thinking of its age, LEDs look a bit dim and the speed controller tends to make the fan sound like it has three speeds: low, medium and high, despite the fact that it's variable. Other than that, I'm satisfied with it...it does its job nicely and keeps my CPU cool.

Appears awesome. Fan blows air upwards in the case, which for me goes straight into a 200mm exhaust fan. Tends to make for outstanding airflow in this distinct case (Antec 900). Doesn't cool one particular bit greater than stock HSF with fan at about 75% speed. Took me an hour's worth of rearranging cables to get this monster to fit, and an additional 20 minutes to get the point seated right (the pins are a massive hassle). Also forced me to remove the side fan on my Antec 900 case to make area for it.Due to the airflow improvements this cooler need to've made I believe it may well even be slightly worse than the stock cooler in other situations, due to the fact doesn't supply as good airflow however nevertheless cools just as properly in this case. Do not get unless you don't plan on OCing and just want it for the looks.

I purchased a Q9550 two.83 Quad with its stock cooler, and my average temperatures had been running 55 to 60c on idle. When I installed this cooler, my temperatures dropped to 40c (idle). I think this says adequate. Further pros are fan controller (a tad quick on wire length although), blue LED lighting, and a somewhat quiet fan. This is a large cooler, and I think you'll have spacing troubles installing this in anything smaller sized than a massive computer system tower. Installation is a breeze, but I did have some minor difficulty snapping one lock into spot. Also, be confident to know the path of air your fan will blow, since I had to reinstall it as it was blowing hot air back into my technique, rather than into my exhaust fan. My only real complaint is how short the wire for the fan contoller is, but I can quickly live with that. Other than some minor issues (due to me not paying close attention), this is a excellent cooler for any method, so extended as you have the space for it. Also, apply Artic Silver Thermal paste. Spread the paste (using an old credit card) all more than the base for a thin but entirely covered layer for max efficiency, and you'll be very content with this solution.

I have owned this almost a year. This was wonderful at cooling my old Q6600 down to 27c stock and higher 30s OC'd to three.4. Nonetheless runs wonderful to this day and no fan difficulties. The blue LED is good eye candy and a very good contrast to the fins. This came with a 1366 mounting bracket for those who personal i7 CPUs. Fan is very quiet on low but really loud mid to max setting. I not too long ago built a new system with an i7 950. Temps have been 34c idle and 73c load. Over-clocking to 3.6 I have the identical idle temp and 81c load on Prime95. I'm not positive if it's typical for i7's to run this hot on load and it's late December here in San Francisco. I also had problems effectively seating the cooler on an asus p6x58d-e board. I had to reinstall the cooler about 4 instances because I was getting 80c on the initial couple of seconds of prime 95 then climbs to 100s. I't might be the new 1366 mounts thats the difficulty since mine pops out rather easily if you put a bit of pressure on the cooler. I will absolutely get coolers with a screw mounts subsequent time.

Fantastic heatsink. I'm running an AMD 6000+ Ɠ.01 ghz Dual Core) in a mid tower. It utilised to hit temps as higher as 80-90C x_x (mostly due to poor air circulation). Now its in the low to mid 40's, which is a Huge imporvement. Installation wasn't THAT bad. A bit tight in a mid tower, but do-able for my case. Ended up taking the fan off the side of my case to get it to match, but it cools a hell of a lot greater, so that's not a dilemma. As everybody else has previously mentioned...SIZE SIZE SIZE. Either take measurments on ur case, or get a complete tower.I've noticed that SpeedFan says my two cores are running five-9C apart from eachother. I think I may need to reseat the heatsink or turn it around so the exhaust hits the PS. The get in touch with block that touches the heatsink is a bit smaller than the actual processor, so make positive you seat it straight in the middle.

Simple to install on an i7 950. Keeps my i7 temps at 29-31 C most of the time. When I play games like Modern day Warfare 2 it barely reaches 40 CI also have a single of these Installed on a phenom two x4 965 A small awkward to install on an AM3. It desires to slide about on the cpu even though I was trying to center the copper block on the cpu. As soon as clamped on that it was nice and sturdy. Best CPU I've ever purchased and I've gone by means of plenty of them soon after creating computer systems more than the years.

This fan is just awesome in how cool it can help keep my technique. I have an AMD X6 two.8 installed below this beast. Avg temps for my CPU nearly idle is 16C, gaming might get it up to 23C. I have it set for around 1000RPM and its relatively quiet. I'm only running two Thermaltake case fans on low and I nevertheless keep low temps. I've ordered a 6870 card from NewEgg that ought to be right here in the subsequent handful of days to replace the on-board 4290 on my ASUS MB, so we'll see how significantly this beast helps retain air moving. It's not only a CPU cooler but in my Thermaltake case, it ended up helping move air all around; this could be why my CPU temp stays so low. I haven't overclocked anything however but from other testimonials, I doubt I will see substantially alter if I pick this route. Yes, the edges are sharp, but taking care will keep away from finger cuts. You do certainly want a Huge case to match this cooler. I don't contemplate these to be cons, but apparently some buyers do. The only con I see is that mine came with a four prong power hookup as an alternative of the smaller three pin, so suitable now I have the fan set to manual control and direct to the power suuply; I would like to take adv of the Qfan technology on my mobo, but just haven't had a likelihood to uncover an adaptor plug so the cooler can plug into my mobo. I'm glad I purchased this cooler. I was looking at a couple of other TT coolers, but this a single appears to have a single of the very best air and pipe styles I've seen for this cost point.

The fan is quiet and moves a huge amount of air. The all copper construction not only appears awesome but genuinely keeps my CPU cool. I'm running an Athlon 64 X2 two.8ghz and idling about 28C, with load temps that rarely rise above 33C. Even when the fan stopped spinning (not a faulty fan challenge, a chord just kept it from spinning) the temps were barely breaking 50C below loads. And for this price? I don't believe I could have picked a superior cooler for my CPU. I'll certainly preserve employing it when I upgrade to a quad core quickly. It is a bit on the substantial side. My case fan on the side panel barely clears the fins and is possibly useless to have right there as it is, but that's not really that major of a down side. The only other downside was that it came with the row of fins on one side sliiiiiightly askew so that the fan rubbed against them. I don't take an Egg away for this mainly because it was simple adequate to gently handle them back into location before installing. I genuinely don't understand why this heatsink isn't rated higher than it is. I suggest it to any individual and everybody I know building a personal computer that doesn't want a stock heat sink.

If you are expecting a drop in temps look elsewhere or creating a couple of overall performance tweaks in your BIOS look elsewhere(cough...cough Noctua SE1366). From the evaluations people appear to have some excellent experiences with this heatsink on all other CPU's but the i7. But I have an i7 build and I produced the error of acquiring this. For an i7 don't waste your time or income.

This is a Enormous fan (make confident you have a massive case or this won't match) and it moves a lot of air by means of the fins to dissipate heat and blow it straight to the exhaust fan. I have had one in my computer on a AM2 processor for a couple years now and it looks good and functions well. My dad was having overheating troubles in his computer system and I installed a single of these in his more than a year ago and it worked greater than anticipated, gathering up all the heat increasing up in the case and blowing it out the exhaust fan which immediately lowered the case temp by 10-15 degrees and no much more overheating problems. We have had no difficulty with the function of the fans at all and I am at the moment going to obtain one more for a third laptop which is operating hotter than I'd like it to. As I mentioned this is a Huge heat sink so make sure you have a huge case. It has a lot of thin fins which are uncomplicated to bend and you might want to watch your hands around. I have it on a AM2 and I should say that it is a bit of a discomfort to mount, the clamp is obstructed by the heat pipes so I should pull the lever down to latch it closed. The power plug for the fan is a small brief, but I can make it perform with a tiny cord left, although I had to find the proper way to run the wire. I have heard a few say that there is no solder or thermal grease between the heat pipes and the base of the heat sink so I think I will have to verify that out and if I uncover that correct then I'll have to put some thermal grease on it. Metal on metal isn't fine for the processor and the heat sink, so why really should it be uncover involving the base and the heat pipes? Although I don't overclock so I don't need the absolute finest cooler on the marketplace so I can't speak to it's functionality when overclocking

Just constructed my method inside the final week. Phenom II 965be, Crosshair III mobo, four gigs ddr3 ram...blah blah blah. Anyway, first issue I did was remove the stock heatsink/fan and replaced with Arctic Freezer Pro 7. There was a modest nick in the heatsink, so not confident if that made the difference or not, but I was not impressed with the AFP at all. At idle with no o'c I was operating between 36-38c. Full load using Prime95 I ran 56-58. I reset the heatsink 2 times to make sure it was correct. I then went and bought the V1 right now (not on newegg...sorry) from neighborhood store. I am now idling (no o'cing) right at 30. Utilizing Prime95, max temp is 46. Let the overclocking start :) Match and finish is absolutely stunning...the blue led fan matches my system perfectly. I am running the fan about 60% and not as well loud at all. With my Crosshair III mobo, I have to run the fan side to side (blowing air back towards exhaust clearly). No alternative to blow up towards bigger exhaust. Only had a day, so no cons just but other than installation. I'm not crazy about how the AMD style clamp just lays on the heatsink with no true connection. The clamps hold it on tight enough where I'm not truly worried about the heatsink coming loose, but it could have been much better. I have a full size HAF932 and the fan fits with totally no difficulties at all. Plenty of room with ram and chassis fans. I doubt you would be so lucky with a mid-tower case.

Every thing except for size; this product does an awesome job cooling every single Pc I place it into. I've suggested to various friends for gaming builds and have employed it in both builds that I've performed because I located it. As long as you're careful handling it and can follow instructions it's a breeze to set up compared to a lot of these that put a panel behind the mobo and demand you to do a rain dance to make perform. Suitable now I could say that I'm additional impressed than with its Zalman competitor cooling my older processor. Massive, bulky... not really a con in this case as it aids to move the heat faster but if you have a small develop this fan is not for you! Functions excellent for me and seriously adds a completed look alternatively of leaving an open hole. It's shiny and fairly. It's quiet. It has very good airflow. It doesn't weigh a ton. It's copper. It's socket 1366 adapter offered ZERO hassle for me... It's big, so you'll need to have a case large adequate. The fan speed control isn't long enough for me to route to the outdoors of my case, let alone in a clean, flush, qualified manner. No biggie. I live in a hot spot (some contact it Hell, other folks just recognize that 110 F summers are hot). The space with my machine has an ambient temp of anywhere from 80-92 F...so it's hot there as well. Before this fan, I had a supposedly slightly improved Evercool fan/heatsink for the i7, which is a 920, NOT overclocked. My idle temp would only really rarely, and briefly drop below 90. Even though ripping and encoding video, I would consistently attain and sustain temperatures above 170, usually reaching 182. Hot.I am working with a Coolermaster HAF 932 case, which I'm confident supplies good airflow.Given that installing this fan, I idle at ambient temperature, or possibly only a couple of degrees above (if I start out early in the morning, it idles at 71!) Ripping and encoding I have but to exceed 122. Big IMPROVEMENT.I only use Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.I'm confident I could safely overclock now.

Mounted easily on my MSI 790FX-GD70 and keeps my PhenomII 955 below 100 degrees. Fan is also close to the heat sink. Heat sink is concave shape, figured perhaps the suction generated by the high setting would help pull it away but it didn't help. I had to tie a string from the fan mount to the heat sink to maintain the fan from nicking it causing loud awful sounds intermittently. Sounds substantially far better now, but appears awful in an otherwise awesome hunting case. Other than the fan hitting the heat sink the volume of the fan on high isn't negative at all the folks who say that it's as well loud should have sensitive hearing, but then once more i'm also running six higher powered 120mm and two 230mm fans in my case and I'm not bothered by it.
