I was looking for a solid laser printer and the $150 to $200 colour lasers were pretty flimsy, plus reviews listed a number of shortcomings. This is well built... more of an office style printer than a personal printer. Text and graphics are clear and clean. Photos aren't photo ink jet quality, but they're very useable on regular paper... much better photo quality than my 4 year old colour laser. This is a great machine for the price. Highly recommended
