Cheap. Good Vibrant blue LEDs for those who like blue. It ruined my case's red LED set it up it has, luckily I sent it back to newegg (will clarify in cons). Easy to mount, temps for i7 950 via Core temp 37-32-37-32 around there, stock clock. Not super good, but decent. The initially issue that comes to mind is the lame soft mounts to mount the fans (you can add an additional optional one as "pull"). Seriously a discomfort to mount, specially if you have the motherboard already in. If the motherboard is out, more energy to you. (proper way to set up is to mount anything when the MB is out anyway). You have to pull the soft mounts (made out of rubber) so it can hold the fan in making use of tension; weak sauce IMO, you'll get a distasteful feeling that you're pulling as well tough, and really feel that it'll rip.Fins very easily bend, so watch out.Right here is the worst portion of the unit, the screws. The two screws you have to tighten towards the CPU itself are garbage. You literally do not really feel it tightening, so you have to blindly calculate the limit or else you WILL snap the screw, this is what occurred to me. I was tightening it down and I couldn't inform if it was tightening or not, apparently it was but unaware, I kept going and *snap*. Screws from the inside is not pure metal, just..garbag For ฮ.00 get the Cooler master 212 Plus, it has an added pair of copper tubes Ƙ vs six), and the design to mount their cooler is superior to this thermaltake unit. Any other thoughts...hmm I hope I get my funds back from newegg.

Quiet, appears cool, solution to set up second fan, anti-vibration fan mounts, variable speed, low cost, 4-pin PWM. I like the two set screw mounts. Much less complicated to set up than my other cooler with four push-pin clips. Depending on motherboard memory location, you may possibly not be in a position to install/replace memory with cooler installed, as the lower fins just clear the best of installed memory. Cooler came with 2 sets of Intel guidelines, AMD guidelines are obtainable on Thermaltake's website. Two of the anti-vibration mounts had been pushed down as well far to take away by hand. Was in a position to take away them with a pair of needle-nose pliers. The cooler is quite tall. Make certain it will match your case. It is created to push air up, so a top-mounted case fan is best. It does fit in my Rosewill Destroyer case.

It looks like it would Genuinely cool a processor nicely. It lights up which looks truly good. It's way as well major for the ATX Mid tower case that I purchased. I got this HSF for a gaming rig that I am developing for a pal. I believed that the light up HSF would be a nice touch. It doesn't come close to fitting in the case. I assume that the only type of case it would fit in is a very substantial server case. I had to go the the brick and mortor competitors to get a new HSF, and the only a single they had is the same style as this. Appears like this one's little sister. That one barely fits the case as well. In fact, I had to get rid of the fan on the door of the case because it got in the way. Just so you know, this is not a little case. This vertical radiator style actually stinks. Now I have to go RMA this issue.

This is a incredibly nice heatsink+fan. The blue LED is just a plus, contemplating I can't even see it via this sheet of metal we get in touch with a case. But when it comes down to cooling, this factor knows what it's carrying out. It's direct contact heat pipes maintain my CPU cooler than any HSF I've ever applied. I'm running a Phenom X4 945 at three.5ghz and it never goes above 45c on complete load. 30c on idle. Though I count on these numbers to drop as the thermal compound cures (the thermal compound that came with the HSF was of exceptional excellent). Also, it's very simple to mount. Just install the base on the motherboard and your set to take it off and place it back on really quickly with just two extremely accessible screws. The 1st point I noticed when I opened the box is that it's a bit large. It just barely fits into my case, since I have this weird bar welded into the case more than the motherboard region. Not confident why that's there, but the HSF rests up against it perfectly. Just a little larger and I'd have difficulties.

Lightweight; doesn't need to have back plate on MB to assistance it. Applied on an AMD board and had no difficulty with clearance on RAM. The distinction in cooling is impressive. Fan runs about 950 rpms and is quieter than the stock cpu fan. Resetting/replacing RAM necessitates removing heatsink. Not truly a con as the fins are up higher enough that you can release the cpu clamp and remove anything. No will need to clean and replace grease. Plus in my book. My response is based on the poor rating a different reviewer gave this heatsink and fan. The fan blows straight up through the fins and blows appropriate into my power supply which exhausts out the back. Even if it didn't go via the energy supply the case would still exhaust out the rear. My cpu temp went from average 51 celsius to 31 celsius. Mine came from ***** and was a Contac 29 for บ additional. Want I'd newegged. Great cooler.

I am shocked to see my CPU temps at 25 Celsius. Sort of worried it may well be a significant also cold. The directions have been challenging at specific methods to follow. Thoughts you I am a 1st-time builder of my own system. Also - My CPU heatsink shipped with a broken fin, a bent fin and two of the plastic fan holders had been halfway into the fins - it bent three or 4 on every side. I bent them back and worked everthing back to a state - that way I could prevent replacement. Would advocate this to anybody. My initially time applying thermal paste as well as assembling a rig. This has drastically lowered CPU temps from the regular 40 to 25 C.

Easy to install, mounts quite securely to the motherboard with the back plate. This issue is not falling off! Has a 120mm fan that puts out some mega airflow, and it looks cool. Even has the choice to add a second 120mm fan! Would have liked the selection to point it any direction I liked, but with AMD board I could only point it up or down which indicates toward the video card or power supply. Though I pointed it up toward the power provide which has a fan on the bottom and back so it performs out good to get the heat outta the case. This issue is large!!! Not certain if that's a pro or con... it barely fit in my micro-atx mid tower case but it is a quite tiny case. Really like this heatsink and fan!! maintaining my quad core AMD nice and cold and looks excellent carrying out it. Fits in my tiny case also! Would def. purchase again for future builds!

It looks like it could move a lot of air, and the blue LED may well look cool when running. The fan blows air toward the best of the case, not the back! It's one more massive fan - if you've got tall RAM and it sits less than 1.five" from the CPU, this won't fit. Likewise, if you've got a slim case, you won't be capable to close the side panel devoid of modifications. The fan has to be removed from the heatsink and reinstalled right after it's mounted, and the fins are flimsier than most I've worked with; be cautious not to bend them when you're messing about with the fan. If I had been appropriate in thinking the fan moved air from front to back, this would have been the ideal cooler for the job. It's mounted in the exact same path for both Intel and AMD CPUs.Seeking inside the situation as it would be mounted, the actual dimensions areɊ 3Ǟ" deep (bottom of heatsink to top rated of fanƞ threeǚ" wide3 1ǘ" tall Manufacturer Response:Hi Jes,If you are putting in the Contac30 onto an Intel motherboard, then you would be in a position to make the cooler into front to back configuration due to the fact the shape of the mounting holes on Intel socket represents a ideal square. Unfortunately, due to the design of the AMD socket, you are unable to do this as the mounting pattern on the AMD represents a rectangle. Must you will need any aid with the installation, really feel cost-free to speak to our Client Service hotline at 800 988 1088.Thank you.

Outstanding cooling, with or with no the supplied fan.Decent price/effectiveness ratio.Simple to install.Mounts securely and solidly to the board.Mounting hardware for second fan is supplied.Four pin connection.Giant heat sink looks sick in my situation.Good thermal paste included. In fact, it's far more like silly putty.Clear directions. Supplied fan whines, even at a low 1200 RPMs.Supplied fan's LEDs are extremely bright.Rubber fan mounts can be complicated to deal with.Must attach fan immediately after cooler is mounted. This is challenging in tight spaces.Must eliminate fan to remove cooler.AMD users should eliminate fan to remove RAM. TLDR: Impressive cooler, fan is junk, tight fit.Antec 900 situation, stock-clocked AMD Athlon II X4 635 chip, Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 board. With all five Antec Tri-Cool situation fans on lowest settings, stock cooler temps were: idle 33c, Prime95 just about 60c. With this Tt cooler and fan, under very same situations, temps are: idle 25c, Prime95 35c max.I removed the Tt fan mainly because it's too bright and it whines. Because then, my temps are still awesome and nicely beneath the AMD stock cooler temps: idle 28c, Prime95 41 max.Due to these numbers and my instances ventilation, I am entirely confident running this technique with no fan attached to the CPU cooler. YMMV!Clearance information:It seems if you are using an AMD board, you have to mount this horizontally. Cearance can be an problem based on the situation/RAM you're using.I had to top mount the fan for it to fit, as it blocked the Antec 900 side panel fan. Also, any RAM substantially taller than OCZ 3G1600LV4GK WILL lead to clearance difficulties.H

I necessary one more cooler so I got this. LED lightsDoesn't wake up the neighbors Doesn't weigh a ton as if it had been created of tungsten carbideCopper heat pipes Could be good for a modder The rubber fan mounts are a joke. When you fist get the cooler you have to get rid of the fan to install the block when you got the mounting hardware installed. The fins are somewhat sharp on some edges although they are like tissue paper and very fragile. Hight oh my what a fool I am its a tall a single. :o You superior have the hands that of a watch maker if you intend on reinstalling or putting in the cooler onto a bard that is already mounted into a situation which for most people today is not an uncomplicated task. May possibly as properly be up the creek as 1 of the rubber mounts shifted and damaged a couple of fins slightly so next tine when I do purchase a new fan or fans for this block they are not going to be mounted used these rubber horrors. Rather I got a mod in thoughts. If you want straightforward buyer beware not for every a single -_-

This unit did the job for me. I have an i7-930 that I could not get the heat down on, no matter what I tried with the stock cooler. It would idle at 145deg. F. and shoot up instantly on any load and overheat. I researched massive coolers and identified that I had less than 1Ǟ" clearance to the side fan on my Thermaltake element G case. This fans permits the method to idle at 100deg. F. and gets up to about 140deg F on an 80% load. This is fantastic given that I use this as a server with VM's. You do have to take away the mainboard to install. This is an Intel case, so I oriented the cooler to blow out the back. Since I really have a Contac 29, there is no LED to admire or complain about. If you have an AMD CPU this case has a bottom-mount provide and top fans, so the orientation issue doesn't exist here.I am happy with this cooler. The fins are a bit flimsy and the rubber mounts appear odd, but the package cools properly and since most system orient the mainboard vertically, there is almost no weight to this cooler and won't strain the motherboard mount.
