Fantastic overall performance for a low cost upgrade. Corsair stands behind its warranty if you ever require to RMA it. None so far. From the comments I see above I will note two factors that may well support individuals who are on the fence about this.1) These are not 100% compatible with Mac's. I have tested a piece on a couple of diverse machines and it was hit and miss. Look into your exact model form before acquire. 2) Some reported that this did not work in their Dell laptop. Though some websites have the incorrect product stock shot, Newegg does have the appropriate 1. These are 8 chip Ɣ front, four back) sticks. SOME laptops (very few) will only perform with 16 chip Ƙ front, 8 back) sticks. I have owned a total of six pieces of this ram. I have two Ƙ gig) running in a ThinkCenter M58p (UFF) working 100%. I had two Ƙ gig) running in my ThinkPad T410s operating 100%. The last two have been planned to go into a Dell pc for a friend, but he had MB concerns and had to return the laptop.Confirmed operating:ThinkPad T400 ƒx dimm 8g total)ThinkPad T410 ƒx dimm 8g total)ThinkPad W510ds Ɣx dimm 16g total)

Installed into a mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13" and went from 4GB to 6GB. Installed rapidly. Soon after one particular startup cycle I noticed a huge improvement in speed and the number of applications I could open prior to it slowed down. None so far except I want I had bought 2 sticks. Running several applications, something from online to video encoding with photo processing and iTunes all running at the same time. It's not uncommon for me to have ten photoshop documents open and ten other applications operating. This RAM was a lifesaver.I have had some Corsair RAM die prior to, but their warranty and consumer service is excellent. I got it replaced in three enterprise days so I'm hoping that if anything ever goes wrong with this a single that it will all be fixed rapid. Purchase this if you consider speed is important.

I bought two of these mainly because it was more affordable than obtaining the eight GB set. I put these in a Toshiba Portege 705 and the point booted appropriate up running at the advertised speed and timings with all 8 GB recognized. They've passed all memory tests and Prime95 tests devoid of a hitch. None.

It was probably a excellent stick of memory. I dont believe the timings are correct to work in the Macbook Pro Unibody. Incompatible. Manufacturer Response:The module you have selected is not suggested for MACs. We offer a line of MAC precise memory that is tested and validated on MAC products.External Hyperlink(s): Corair MAC Memory Link|

It operates if you get the version that's compatible with your notebook. Or it will look like a DOA (fails to boot or generates tons of errors in memory test). The picture only shows the 8-chip version Ɣ chips on each and every side of the module) which really should operate with far more notebooks in the market place. Nevertheless we received the 16-chip version Ƙ chips on each side) which is much less compatible and doesn't perform with our Thinkpad notebook even with the most recent BIOS updates. Newegg employees can not and will not confirm the version they send out to you, either order new or for exchange. So it's based on your sheer luck what you are going to get. Just before you location the order, do issue in the possible return shipping price and achievable restocking charge if you shed the gamble. It puzzles me why Corsair would make two vastly different memory modules below the identical model # CM3X4GSD1066 G. If it occurs to be in the middle of version transitioning as of this overview, both Corsair and Newegg must at least guarantee that the replacement will be the newer version (supposedly the item shown here). They can't and they don't seem want to. So be forewarned.

Of course an straightforward set up like all memory is. Worked fine for a week; then failed multiple diagnostic tests (failed integrity tests *several*) - resulted in my pc crashing and becoming unresponsive in startup until I re-installed my old memory. Don't even bother searching at this item - waste of time, money and energy and stress. Who would think that following a week of owning this item it would fail - has to be cheaply created. Manufacturer Response:We are really sorry you received a faulty module. Our modules are of the highest quality even so, any electronic component can fail which is why we provide a lifetime warranty. Please allow Newegg or Corsair to replace it.External Link(s): Corsair RMA Link|

I picked up two sticks for my late 2009 13" MBP, got the old 2x1GB sticks out place in the 2x4GB. WHAT A Distinction! Tends to make my 2009 MBP feel new again. None. Ought to have upgraded sooner, I can't believe I was on 2GB for so extended. OSX and Windows 7 64bit detected 8GB on initial boot. No difficulties.

Functions fantastic with my Toshiba Td215D-1150R None The Toshiba Td215 is notoriously picky with it's memory and this Corsair 4Gb stick operate wonderful in the second slot. The memory is recognized by windows 7 as well as the Bios.

newegg exceptional delivery in particular thinking of it was ordered on Dec 25 and order was filled! Uncomplicated package to open. Wasteful quantity of packaging employed for shipment, when one thing a single third the size could have been utilized. Arrived DOA. Finding RMA Corsair appears to be falling in the quality manage department they employed to be best notch in and other manufacturers aspired to be. I have read given that my acquire a number of people getting DOA units. I understand there is always going to be a certain amount of bad units that slip through a mass production line. But it makes you wonder if this was a poor series with a solder point problem.

Took my 15 inch i5 macbook from four gigs to six gigs. Functions like a champ. Upgrading ram on macs is additional complicated than other computers. Not Corsairs fault. They rock. The price has plummeted given that I bought my stick. But that isn't Corsairs fault either. Wish I had waited and purchased 8 gigs. Although I would nonetheless have bought this exact stick.

The cost was excellent. Even though it was compatible it would not run on my Dell XPS Studio 1640, so I'm guessing it's defective. I utilized to like Corsair, but acquiring RAM shouldn't be a gamble. I returned it for a refund versus a replacement simply because I don't want to wait another 7 days for additional dead RAM. Eggsaver shipping took 7 days and wasn't really worth it for anybody thinking about the RAM was D.O.A. The CSR was good though and waved the restocking fee, so Newegg produced up for Corsair's failure. Thank you Newegg. Also, eggs really should be an choice.

I bought two sticks for my T400 about three months ago, one works flawlessly and passes memtest. The 2nd stick failed to work (doesn't reach BIOS in mixture, solo, or any config), had it RMA'd, and replacement failed to function. I am presently on my ㅂth RMA and am about to give up and absorb my losses (return shipping is adding up). Not positive what the problem with high quality/compatibility is. Manufacturer Response:Please get in touch with our technical support directly by telephone if you are able and speak with a supervisor or RAM GUY. Newegg quick shipping Right after the 1rst module I ordered failed to function, I known as Corsair to confirm the module would function in this laptop. They did confirm it and mentioned that the module need to be defective. Following returning it for a replacement, the replacement didn't function either. Dell mentioned that I must obtain the ram from them.
