It is Solid! The design and style is amazing, the price tag is fantastic for an 8GB and considering how rapidly I have a tendency to drop USB drives I am glad that this 1 will hook up to my laptop bag from either the usb it self or the casing, how I have it, so I can unscrew it from the casing and use, then screw it back into the casing that is chained to my laptop bag so I never shed it. It operates quite funky, I have applied it to copy about 5 700MB avi files and it tends to cease fairly often and then skip ahead. It nonetheless operates fine and it isn't a problem but it is a irritation. Also it is a relatively massive case. I was expecting anything smaller but this is about the size of a fat guys thumb. I don't mind it and it tends to make it more hard to shed but I personally really feel it could have been smaller and more asthetically pleasing. Really good buy and iw ould advocate it to any individual who routinely abuses their USB thumb drives. even so if performance is the deciding factor I would go with one thing else

devoid of a doubt the ideal flash drive i have ever owned. built with excellent supplies. Really waterproof and shockproof. Ran it more than with my auto just to see if corsair was lying or not. Performs fine right after running it more than a few far more times to prove to good friends. Don't overlook your drive in a public computer system. I left this flash drive at my schools laptop lab a couple of instances since I connected the cap to my keys, not the drive to my keys. Considering that connecting the drive to my keys I haven't left it behind. Can't miss drive. Strong construction, a lot of area, supports readyboost for vista. I just hope that the mail-in rebate goes via!

I don't drop it, so I can't vouch for the sturdiness of the drive. Surely does really feel significantly a lot more strong than a regular USB drive. Excellent quantity of space and can be fairly valuable for storing books, music, and other files. Great study/write speed. The storage unit needs you to unscrew the USB drive to get it out. Not a big deal, but does take added time to open when compared with other flash drives. I'd absolutely get it once again if I necessary another.

Built like a tank, rapid and dependable . . . fairly significantly every thing we've come the anticipate from Corsair memory. It's massive, possibly also major to be stashed in a shirt pocket. Some have said this is slow, but compared to the 1 gig Transend flash drive it's replacing (that I paid as considerably for as this Corsair), it's more rapidly than I was expecting. If there wasn't such a very good deal on these at the moment I may possibly have complained about paying for the dog tag and a USB extention cord that I've have yet to use, but at it current value, these points are just a bonus. If you're looking for a decent sized memory stick that's quick and trusted, then this is as great as any, but if you're like me and normally get practically nothing quick of the ideal and baddest hardware on the planet, then this IS the flash drive for you.

A tank of a flash drive! Lost my SanDisk 8GB flash, so required to get a different 8GB for school. Had everything backed up, so no lost data, at least something truly significant. I adore being aware of that my flash drive can withstand so much weight, no need to have to be concerned about crushing it in my bag! None truly, Possibly the entire concept of screwing off the cover to access the flash drive, but I locate that added protection fine for me. A single may well want similar to SanDisk sleek hide-away design and style with uncomplicated access from essential-chain. Hugely propose this flash drive, most of my friends have it, and haven't complained about it as soon as. Very best bang for your flash, I suppose. :-)

I was seeking for an 8Gb+, indestructible, mobile, compact USB flash drive to carry on my important ring, and this caught my eye. All the other "key ring" drives I was seeking at looked like they would get broken and wouldn't hold up to my day-to-day use and I wanted a major drive that would hold up to some abuse. When I opened the package I could inform that this was a properly produced drive, and the enclosure is not flimsy at all. It actually reminds me a small of a mini mag-lite in the way it threads together and feels in my hand. The Survivor turned out to be a ideal match for what I needed. It's a tiny large on my keyring, and I personal a VW with a major essential fob. But, I only preserve one particular essential on my keyring so it ended up being an OK size, but if Corsair created a mini survivor I would be all over that. The dog tag is a cool tiny addition. Indestructible 8Gb for below โ is a fantastic cost.

Sturdy, effectively built (unlike other low-cost plastic USB drives). None so far. The image on Newegg is slightly outdated, now the black metal on prime and bottom is rubber, also the crucial ring in in the center now (but not protruding out). Also, don't stick your pinky in the empty case. That air-tight lock causes some difficulties.

This point is water proof....I sent it through the washer...it lived. I decided not to push my luck with the dryer. The transfer is ok...not quick...not slow. The airport safety did not like the appears of this. I guess that isn't a con if you like freaking men and women out:)

Reasonable price for eight gigsQuickly study/write speedRugged design is airtight, protects the drive extremely nicelyHell, it even comes with dogtags and a USB extender! Mildly complex rebate methodNo other complaints I needed a flash drive that had both ample storage and could function with each my operate Computer and my Macbook at property. This drive runs portableapps really properly, and also retailers pretty large files with no issues at all. You can play video stored on the drive quite promptly with small to no lag at all. It's also incredibly snazzy searching, for these of us who like a wow issue with all of our accessories. If it's amongst this drive and yet another cheap 8 gig drive with free shipping, play it secure and get the Corsair. It's worth the additional dollars, hands down.

I'll be sincere, I'm pretty hard on points. Even a excellent pair on jeans will only final me up to six months prior to I shred them. So, you can only imagine how challenging I am on electronics. On the other hand, this flash drive has gone to hell and back, and it's still just great as new following 7 months. Heck, I even ran it more than with a 1 ton pickup the day I got it just to make positive it was up to my requirements, and there wasn't even a scratch. If that doesn't convince you It may be bulky for some people. The great component about a bulky flash drive is you'll know when you forget it. Also, it was a bit squeaky when screwing it into it's container at initial, but this went away soon after a couple days.

Really strong building. Looks like it's constructed to withstand the Armageddon. It's not that big. Cap screws on securely. Nice, quality finish. Rubber finish caps make for excellent grips to screw and unscrew. It's a lot quickly for my desires...and it's eight Giigs!Dog tags are neat, but I like the Voyager's lanyard superior so I use it.10 year warranty and Corsair's fantastic customer help.USB cable is good, particularly for plugging it into laptops. The plastic cap on the drive itself isn't actually held on by anything in addition to stress, wish it was secured by a thing, but if it falls off odds are excellent it'll fall off even though the cap is on...so it won't get lost.Rubber end caps really should be secured a little superior, but nothing a small glue won't repair.I identified nothing about the TrueCrypt software program they promote it comes with, but the software is free open supply, so you can just download it. Even so Corsair shouldn't promote that it comes with it if it doesn't actually come with it.These are all minor complains even though. Right after losing my incredibly dependable end beloved Voyager I decided to upgrade from 1 Gig to eight and go for the toughest drive I could uncover, which happens to be a Corsair also!Bought 2 of them. Operates excellent, plenty quick enough for the files I operate with. If security is what you're following you can't go incorrect!

Great amount of storage space. Broke following about a month or two. Wasn't physical damage, it was far more of an internal hardware dilemma. Sadly I didn't have the warranty accessible coz I didn't have the serial number either. Oh nicely, it was heavy anyways. I don't feel I'm going to purchase anymore flashdrives from Corsair, this was a single heck of a negative knowledge as I put some fairly essential stuff on it and now it's all lost. I seriously regret acquiring it. I'm at the moment pondering of acquiring the 16GB Patriot XPorter. Hopefully that lasts me as lengthy as my truly old PNY Attache 1GB that even although it doesn't study half the time, it still somewhat functions.

Outstanding building, Fits nicely amongst other ports, incorporates a usb extention cable so you will be capable to access really hard to reach usb ports less complicated, is seriously durable and lightweight. It has a quite strong cap and it is not difficult to screw on after you do it additional than once and have gained the tensile memory. It doesn't have 8GB usable. The on board drivers and other device related computer software eat up about 500mb of the usable space on the drive. Communicated with my 2002 hp desktop and brand new macbook pro just fine. I am extremely happy with the top quality of this item.I need to also state that I entirely disagree with the other reviewer who stated that the keys must be attached to the cap rather of the USB itself. Althoug I agree that the likelyhood of losing the cap is minimal when in transit, I still stick to the notion that IF the cap came unscrewed from the base the USB would be lost with that arrangement. Maintain the keys attached to the USB itself in future models please!

Absolutely everyone who has referred to as it hard ... is correct. I have no intention of trying to test how properly constructed it is, but the only harm so far is cosmetic due to becoming on my keychain. The encryption computer software is excellent for guaranteeing no one else can see your information if you drop the drive or it's stolen - they can delete it and re-use or sell the drive, but that's it, and if you want the space for unclassififed files you just delete the application (as I've carried out on my 32 GB Survivor). I also like the cascading encryption capability, though I haven't bothered with my encrypted partition due to the fact it slows the drive down much more than a single encryption. Again, as has been pointed out about 20 instances (out of 27 critiques so far!) it's slow writing. Perhaps not as negative as some say, but I've definitely owned quicker ones. On the other hand study/transfer speeds are excellent. This drive is a tradeoff - you lose speed but gain durability. The encryption application is wonderful but fees write speeds. All in all, I'm happy - I just wish NewEgg had the 16GB in stock so I wouldn't have had to cough up the additional $$$ for the 32GB version! For those who say the laptop can't format this drive NTFS, XP (Pro) enables external USB HDD's to be formatted NTFS but not flash drives. I have no explanation for why except perhaps due to the fact it's flash storage and not a tough drive per se. In any case Vista (Home Premium) does let it.

I have lost countless thumb drives in the previous. I maintain them on a crucial ring in my pocket and they inevitably break off after a brief time. I purchased this unit 18 months ago and it is nevertheless happily connected to my keyring and operating perfectly. The case is a small substantial, but inside tolerance for me. I've had it in my pocket every day for more than a year with out it becoming too a lot of a bother. If you retain a thumb drive on your keyring and you are tired of them breaking, this is the drive for you.

strong material, waterproof, overall nice drive My only problem is the design and style is slightly flawed. If attached to a keychain when you unscrew the case to get to the drive, the actual drive is on the side attached to the keychain. Should be the other way about so you dont have to plug in with your keys hanging off it.
