Cons: None yet (crossing fingers)

Pros: FAST, great capacity for the price

I bought the refurbished about 2 weeks ago when it was on sale. I have a USB 3.0 port on my Asus Sabertooth X58 Motherboard and from some quick tests I got approximately 36MB read speed and 28 MB write speed. I copied up to about 23 GB capacity of it (2 High Def movies). On USB 2.0 (on a 2008 Macbook) I am getting about 27MB read and 21MB writeFormatted in NTFS mode no issues (not for speed, but to allow for greater than 4GB files). I never did a speed comparison between fat32 and NTFS, does it make a difference? The rubber casing is nice but I wish the lanyard wasn't so thick but who really uses the lanyard anyway?I am hoping that it still works after the 30 day warranty.(Crossing fingers AND knocking on wood).

Took a chance and bought refurb. Formatted the drive using SD formatter. Excellent read and write speed. AS SSD reports Read of 32mb/s and Write of 30mb/s. I am very impressed.

Cons: Unreliable

Pros: Good capcity

I bought one around New Years, after a month it stopped working altogether, firmware update  is useless as the drive is not recognized no matter what. Buyer beware. I wouldn't buy another one of these refurbed, not worth it with only a 30 day warranty.

Pros: Very fast.Three year warranty.

After getting one of these brand new, I decided to see if it was worth paying half as much for a refurb unit (34.99 on sale as of this writing). Using ATTO Benchmark with an empty drive, it will write at 36-37 MB/sec on a USB 3.0 port for files >1MB and read at 38 MB/sec. Once the drive is ½ full, ATTO Benchmark indicates that the write speed drops to about 26 MB/sec. That translates to about 5½ minutes to write an 8 GB movie file (real world example, I timed it twice). The unit comes in the original packaging with an extension cord and a neck strap, the only thing distinguishing it from a new unit is a sticker marked "REFURB". Since the nand cells in flash memory have a limited number of erase cycles (typically 100,000 is guaranteed), there is some question as to the lifespan that one of these units will have depending on how much the original user cycled the drive. However, Corsair warrants the drive for three years mitigating the risk to the purchaser. Great drive at a bargain price, worth the risk IMO.

I initially had a problem with this usb stick after about 30 days of usage.. it would show up as a drive but was grey'd out and I couldn't do anything with it. Tried in Linux also. There is a firmware update  that fixes a known issue with this exact problem.http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=91444Patched it up and it works great once again.I'm getting just under 30mb / sec read and about 24mb / sec write.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this stick again.

Pros: fast, built like a tank, comes with a strap

I ordered 2 refurbished units. One of them isn't working well and the other one works great. The one that doesn't work can be formatted in fat32 and can write files to it. However, you can't read the files that were written. You also cannot format in NTFS as it gives an error. I guess that Corsair only formatted the drive in fat32 and copied files to it, but didn't check for reading or formatting in NTFS when they verified the refurbished units?
