Cons: Better quality supplies around this price point. It's not modular. 4 pin connector was short for a mid tower case.

Pros: Really good psu when on sale.
Comment:
A good psu. I have not experienced any coil whine. Bought it half price during a sale. 4 pin connector was a bit too short for routing in a mid tower case. It's not modular, so I had extra wires in my case.

I used this PSU in my dads comp, and it died after a couple years, I was very surprised, corsair products are usually great.

Cons: inherent problem with this model (buzzing noise)

Pros: looks very sleek with good cables
Comment:
Overall it's a good power supply but after a little research I found out that this model is very common to have a coil whine (which I have).

Bought this to replace a friends dying PSU. It has worked perfectly since day 1, and my friend is no longer having computer problems. Its also a Corsair so you know you are getting a quality item.

Cons: -Only 400w

Pros: -Black, sleek.-Large fan-Not too loud
Comment:
I used this to replace my uncles 460w cooler master that failed. I am grateful that I could find something for 30$ that suited his needs. Its pretty good looking too, with a nice lower 120mm fan intake. I am a fan of the design. This is the perfect piece to add to any budget, non-gaming build.

Cons: - 4 out of 7 died within 1 week of installing.- 1 killed an SSD- I wanted to make this a 1-star review however they were in-store purchases.

Pros: + Looks nice
Comment:
I build & repair computers for a living. Never in my life have I seen such a terrible computer component. Out of an order of 7, 4 f these died with 1 week of installation, causing great headache to myself my clients and my staff. We have been using Corsair power supplies without issue for years, but this CMPSU-400CX model will definitely never be used again. Another 2 power supplies have not yet been used, so their fate I do not yet know.DO NOT BUY!

Cons: for a non modular, low wattage, high efficiency PSU...None

Pros: Bought it on saleShort lengthLooks sharp in my black case
Comment:
I put this in my WHS 2011 build. Since it doesn't need to power much and will be turned on 24/7 I insisted on getting a lower wattage PSU for efficiency. The cables are easily tucked away, fan is quiet, everything is black and looks good with my Lian li Q25B mITX case.

Cons: pretty heavy, but it didn't really matter to me.

Pros: worksdidn't blow up on menice warranty for a 30$ power supply ( was on sale)
Comment:
used it to do a small system that consumed not even 100w full load so i don't really have any pros or cons to say at this time.i got it for 30$ and it was the best option for me since corsair is makes reliable power supplies.

Pros: - Corsair quality- Reliable, efficient.
Comment:
I'm pretty sure this is an older version of the Corsair CX430V2. I would definitely recommend getting that one over this one for multiple reasons.1. More wattage2. 80plus guarantee rating3. Same price... =="Otherwise, this isn't a bad PSU. Just obsolete!

Cons: Cheap plastic used for cable strap.

Pros: Great deal at $30 a pop. Good set of accessories.
Comment:
Purchased two of these during the sale. Both came with cable straps that were already snapped in two right out of the box. However, between the black screws and 10 short cable ties, it more than makes up for the broken part.

I bought this PSU on sale for $29.99. For that price, it's an absolute steal. But even at regular price, you can't go wrong with Corsair PSUs. They always have a very nice build quality that you can literally feel.Although the picture here on NCIX makes it look like this is a cheaper, lighter, tin version of Corsairs more pricey PSUs, this is not the case. This PSU still has a nice thick enclosure that makes it feel like a quality unit. The picture is deceiving.I can't comment on how long it will last, but I've never had any of my other Corsair PSUs die in the past.

Got this for repairs/upgrade for someone elses computer. Didn't need a lot of power but wanted more than the (extremely) minimal PSU that came with the machine. This fit the bill quite nicely and with the large 'instant rebate' was at a very good price.!

Cons: not modular (if i'm being really picky)

Pros: quiet, cheap
Comment:
As quiet of a PSU as I've come across.400w power rating is just about the lowest you'll find these days but it'll probably work for most people who aren't sli/crossfiring. If you're concerned and aren't sure, look up one of these system power estimate calculators on the web (not going to be perfect, but good enough). My system uses 80w n idle, 100w 'doing stuff', maybe 160w gaming, 200w at *full* power. The most I ever saw was about 240-250 or so when I was really overclocking. (My system for reference: Phenom II quad core, 5770 video, 3 hard drives+1ssd)

Pros: -Fast MIR-Very nice sleaving-great packaging-Does it's job
Comment:
This power supply runs great with a e5400 and a gt210. Not really power hungry set-up and I don't overclock with this computer. Main thing I love about this product is that the MIR came to me in 3 months. This is the fastest MIR so far and it beat my gigabyte rebate which was mailed out at the same time. Kudos to Corsair.

Comment:
I bought this power supply unit for about 50 bucks, and this PSU is very good. Although it has only 400W, it is more than enough if you do not do lots of gaming. This unit is also very quiet and the temperature is during full load is not too high, so I think it is very stable.

Great unit for the price, could be use in a hptc if you don't have the budget for a modular psu. The cpu 8/4 pin is the same sable oppose to some other models

Pros: - Price- Performance
Comment:
People told me I needed a 600W psu to supply my system but the 400CX was capable of doing it with just 400W. It's super cheap and it's a lot stronger than people underestimate it for. However my first one died within a week so I got it replaced and it works like a charm.
