I decided to supplant an Ultra 400 watt unit I've run for years on my custom machine. Two things I noticed right away after install - - Slightly quieter than the PSU it replaces - Was having audio pops and other interference before, but this PSU eliminated that... PERFECT audio now. CLEAN power did the trick. And here I always blamed the board. I also liked the braided cables. And unlike many modular units, I prefer the cables coming out of a small spot in back. My only wish is that the next generation of these allow you to snap off portions of ea. cable to eliminate some excess. Also, time to do away with non-sata power plugs... a waste. Those that still need that supported could then just buy a 6 dollar adapter.

Running for two years without an issue. Clean workmanship and good cable lengths. Fixed my instability issues (MEM) and is quiet too at around 40% continual load. Thanks Corsair for a great product .

Cons: Little higher costNot Modular

Pros: Efficient (80+)5 Year Warranty
Comment:
Bought this power supply for a low-end file server. Runs great and is energy efficient. It is a bit more expensive than say an OCZ or Thermaltake - but it's actually 80+, even though they don't specifically say it's rating.

I bought this to replace the original 250 watt P.S.U. that was in my Dell 4300 computer. I needed more juice for the graphic card i bought with it, which was a replacement for a X 700 Pro graphic card that died on me after 2 years probably because it didn't have enough power to run it. So as not to make the same mistake i bought this. I did have to modify the metal at the back of the PC slightly to access the plug and switch of the PSU. No big deal with the right power tool. It is very quiet running. The only issue i had with it is that it seems to be picky as to the order in which you plug in the drives. It was ok at first then it would not recognize my cd and dvd drives yet they would have power to open the doors, then the monitor would kick out but the computer would still be powered up. Once i redid the order of the plugs it has been fine ever since. I have had it since 1 6 2010. Posted 1 15 2010.

Bought this for a budget Home General Purpose PC. Good product for the price. Cables are extra-long, and sleeved (which is nice). The unit is quiet, and hasn't produced a hiccup since!Good PSU for a budget build.Would buy again. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-06-10 12:55 PM

This morning I received the Corsair VX450W power supply to replace a 3 year old unit that fried. This Corsair is an excellent supply. ULTRA quiet. Large fan on the bottom of the supply. Ample connections. I plan to purchase another just to have for any emergencies.

Pros: Great power savings! Reduced my system from 200w to 150w
Comment:
update d my 6 year old HTPC system to try to improve power usage. I was amazed to see a 50w reduction, which will translate into almost $50/year - the update  will pay for itself in a little over a year!

Cons: - rebate is a Mail-in-rebate (but it always worked for me so far)

Pros: - Very quiet- 5 years warranty- cable long enough for tower with bottom PSU (Antec 300)
Comment:
This is my second Corsair PSU I buy and I'm still very satisfied ! I was looking primarily for a quiet PSU and this PSU is the most quiet active component in my build. The cables are long enough for an Antec 300 with the PSU on the bottom.

This was my second build and I used a barebones kit the first time. For my second build, I was arrogant and did not ask cutomer service if this would work with the motherboard I selected. Hard lesson. This power supply is NOT compatible with ATX 12V 2.0 MOBOs. I'll save this for my next build or sell it.

Solid, Well built supply, drives a Quad core Q6600 without any noise generation on my Amateur Service receiver. Only had supply a week but it is performing well and has plenty of lengthy cables. Rig: Gigabyte board with Q6600 quad core, IDE CD drive, Liteon SATA Writer drive, Two HDD, 40 and 120 GB, Audigy Audio board.

Cons: - not modular- could be a little tight for bottom psu cases

Pros: - super quiet - perfect for quiet builts- excellent built quality- 5 year warranty - temperature controlled fan
Comment:
The review articles for this model on the computer hardware review sites are excellent. Quality components and output among the most stable. This unit is manufactured by Seasonic, which makes this my third Seasonic unit. The other two have given me several years of quiet, stable systems.

I have had this power supply for about ten days and it works great. Has connections for just about anything you would want or need. Only regret is not looking a little more at the VX550 for the extra wattage.

Cons: Under higher loads (350W+) fan becomes louder.

Pros: Quiet, efficient, fair priced, quiet, warrantied for 5 years, long cables, and did I say quiet?
Comment:
This is a great power supply. It will easily power a single GPU & whatever else you have that requires power. Plenty of connectors, nice long sleeved cables (which would not be quite as nice if your using a small case), and probably the most quiet power supply I've ever heard. Would buy again. Another excellent product by Corsair!

I bought this to upgrade my 250w PSU in my HP A6619F computer so I can install another hard disk and better video card. The install went smoothly.. the only down side in my case was the extra long cables since I do not have a full tower, but I was able to tie them out of the way. All in all, the power supply runs quieter and uses 20w less power than the OEM that was in it. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade your OEM power supply.

For Single Graphics Card systems this PSU is perfect! On a heavy load this PSU tested to be very reliable, stable and ran cool just as it showed from various sites that tested it!I'm running an average build with 4 fans, Radeon 4850, 1 Hard Drive, 1 Optical DVD and a card reader. With these running this PSU barely breaks a sweat and has never gone above 30 degrees where the PSU's fan apparently kicks into higher RPM's.....Oh and I'm overclocking an AMD 7550 from 2.5Ghz to 2.9Ghz etc... I bought this PSU when I upgraded my monitor to a HD 23' and 9600GT HD VGC recently and all is good good. The E521 with 305W was underpowered with the new card and a message would pop up that your GT9600 is running at a lower state because of a insuffcient power supply.I installed the VX450 which when takin out of the box,a person can tell quickly its of great quality. It has very long cables and a fair bit of cable dancing is required to hide it all.

This is one of the best PSU's I've ever deal with. It has been running 24/7 and has stayed cool the entire time. The fan is EXTREMELY quiet. I don't hear the usual hum that you do with most PSU's - it is super-quiet, and has made it the ideal PSU for those users with a desktop in their bedroom. Unless I just HAVE to get a high-power PSU, then I'll be getting another one of these next time around.

Bought this power supply to upgrade my HP to use a different graphic card. I was so surprised how quiet this unit was that I bought another for my other HP. Easy to install and good cable length and amount of connectors. The sleeves on the cables were a plus along with the cable ties.
