Fairly affordable for what it does, uncomplicated set up on MSI AM3 socket (didn't even will need the clumsy mount integrated in box), and substantially quieter than I believed it would be. As other reviewers have noted, this sucker is Massive, both in terms of overall genuine-estate coverage and it's just as tall. I'd only take it down by 1ǘ egg but they ain't got 1ǘ eggs, so 4 outta 5. Didn't use the incorporated thermal paste as I nonetheless had Arctic Silver five left over from an additional construct. Keeps an AMD Phenom II X4 820 ࿿W, 4 cores, slightly overclocked) at about 40°C below load.

I was hunting to replace the stock cooler on my ADM 1090T, which sounds like a jet engine. I originally purchased a Coolermaster V8 (since it looks cool, and I was was going to go with a plexiglass case), but I changed my mind on case, and it would not match in the new 1. After I installed the stock 1090T fan, I knew it had to go. At idle is was ok, but at higher demand below 3DMARK06 and games it was unbearable.Testing was performed after 1 hr warmup, making use of the CPU1 and CPU2 tests in 3DMARK06, 4 sessions (eight total tests) with highest temp for every session recorded. Ambient temp as noted.Stock ᥀F: 39.4ኃ.sixኃ.eightኃ.8CZalman ᥁F: 31.6ቼ.ቼ.2ቼ.8CPlus, the fan is quieter than my 160mm case fans, so excellent. none Inexpensive. I was worried about the thin copper base plate, but it appears to not warp as substantially as the larger ones (less heat to solder?). Anyway, mine runs perfect, and the temps speak for themselves.

On prime95 64bit higher heat pressure test with the stock fan would hit 85-90c / With the simple set in clip for the 1155 sockets was amazing, it brought down my temp to a soild 51c on the exact same torture test what an improvement!! Way to go Zalman.... Wish the thermal grease came in a easy squeeze tube....

I chose this cooler because Ƒ) it mounts on the cpu so that the fan blows air toward the back of the case, correct into the case exhaust fan, for incredibly effective air movement, ƒ) it has a copper baseplate, Ɠ) it has a great quantity of heat pipes, Ɣ) it mounts easily without getting to eliminate the motherboard 鿫) from the case, Ɣ) it is fairly lightweight and does not physically pressure the motherboard mounting system and cpu when the pc case (Antec 200) is stood upright. This cooler dropped my cpu temps 20 degrees celcius more than the stock heatsink and fan. Even when hard gaming the cpu temps don't exceed the the low 40's. I am entirely delighted with this cooler. none Loosen the screws a bit on the mounting bracket and the cooler will mount easily. Even although it has a four conductor fan plug, it runs excellent plugged into a three pin cpu fan connector if that is what you have on your motherboard. If the fan doesn't run the 1st time you plug it into a three pin connector, just unplug it, shift it one particular pin sideways and plug it back in. It'll run fine.

Quite nice, it runs incredibly well and keeps my processor operating amazingly cool. It was effectively worth the price tag, and looks really sweet to boot. Only genuine con was the noise, this fan runs louder than the rest of my case combined. Granted, that's till not as well loud but it was louder than I expected when I looked at the other critiques.

Working with it to cool a Phenom II x4 820 processor OC to 3.4ghz. Using the thermal paste that cam with it and seeing idle temps at about 27c and load in the low 40's.Was uncomplicated to set up when I decided to use a flathead as an alternative of my lil phillips. Most of all it didn't demand me to eliminate my motherboard. none that i can assume of Not a con but at full speed it isn't too a lot quieter than the stock hsf of a phenom.

Simple AMD install. All you'll require are a phillips head screwdriver, steady hands and 15 minutes. Didn't even need to take the mb out. From what I can inform the Intel install looks just as uncomplicated.Excellent job as a stabilizing cooler which I really necessary for the minor voltage tweaks. The rebate was a plus as nicely. Takes up really little space and looks spectacular in my Soprano Rs. (Mid Tower with clear side panel)Quiet....... quite quiet. Dropped my CPU temps by 20 degrees idle and involving 15 to 20 beneath a gaming load. ( Crysis on complete settings for an hour). It also dropped my case temps mainly because it kicked out the CPU heat directly to the rear fan. Could've applied a little more thermal grease but it was just enough to place on a decent coat. Not a con for me but this is not for serious overclocking. It did ok with the 4th core unlocked on my Rana 450 and some important tweaks but when I stressed the technique it showed temps I was not completely protected with. But like I mentioned just before it did fantastic with minor tweaks and stock settings. To sum it up It's a wonderful cooler for the cost and peace of mind for persons content with a stock or slightly above stock CPU. I am posting this critique a little later then expected but I wanted to also add that shipping was a day earlier then expected. Thanks New Egg for making me a happy Techie. =)

Tried to OC to 4.2GHz, the CPU temperature exceeded 72c. Also, a small bit noisy A good deal given the cost.A decent cooler for men and women who don't OC or minor OC.

Quiet operation, doesn't physically dominate the MB... there is still space to use all the RAM slots Bought this to replace the screaming eagle that is the stock cooler on my wife's Phenom II x4 965 CPU. It isn't OC'd and she doesn't game extremely often -- so I just wanted some thing easy that was capable of the identical cooling as stock only quieter. I though this would be the resolution. Looks like I should've carried out far more research, even even though Zalman says it can take care of 125W, far more critique web sites only peg it out at 90W. I'm confident it would be fine for a reduce power consumption MB. I wish it was additional capable, I don't like that my only decent choices are monstrous radiators that take up so considerably true-estate on the MB that I have to be concerned about RAM slot clearance or taking the MB off the chassis. There just doesn't appear to be many reasonably sized cooler options for AMD... at least not coolers that are simple to set up or orient the same way as if they were installed on an Intel MB.

actually easy to function with and does a decent job cooling for the value. i have a q8400 quad processor and for some purpose according to speed fan, core's 1 and 2 are both at 39 C while my other cores at at 33 c. I would like to see all the temperatures beneath 33 but for but for the cost ill give it it's due. I kinda just got this mainly because it was so cheap with rebate but i'm pondering about getting either a zalman or a the hyper 212+ from cooler maser. I don't believe that this is the greatest cooler for ocing.

Certainly fantastic cooling energy. Extremely quiet. Not ridiculously large. Super uncomplicated mounting on AMD platform. Really comes with great thermal paste. Did I mention it cools truly effectively? It wasn't cost-free? Seriously although, no cons. I had bought this to replace the unbearably loud stock fan that came with my AMD 1090t. I had currently setup fan speed handle in the bios for the stock fan. I turned it on and had to make positive it was in fact operating it was so quiet. I left it operating for a although to give the thermal paste time to set... fired up core temp... idling at 23C. WOW!! I have Awesome and Quiet turned on, but I was nonetheless shocked at the level of cooling. Even much better... I started up 6 situations of Cpu Burn-in, verified all cores were running at 100% by means of core temp, and verified they were all running at three.2Ghz. Let it run for about 30 minutes and came back... complete load 40C. Space temp was 77F. I opened the situation, not believing what I was seeing and place my hand on the heatsink. Barely warm! WOW!!I can't advocate this adequate!FYI, stock temps were about 41C idle / 54C load.

I ordered this cooler for my fiancé's i3-2100, and it keeps it far cooler than the stock cooler. Running a full load, the processor never goes about 45C (in a room at about 22C), and with the fan on quiet mode via the BIOS (Never goes above 7V).5 Stars for the value. It's definitely not the best one you can get, but for the price range, it's definitely 5 stars.

Installed on a triple core Athlon 440 OCed 3.6ghz. Idle temps about 20-22c, running prime 95 for 10 minutes it reaches 49c. My old sink kept it about 29c idle, and more than 50c with prime 95 @ 3.2ghz. The fan isn't replaceable but it is a long life style. On my mobo it seemed the amd clips are a small to snug to clip on, so I basically unscrewed one side a little, clipped it on, and tightened up the screw. The vertical style does not blow onto Northbridge raising the temps 30c!!! An 800rpm side fan blowing toward NB solved this problem for me. I had wanted a cpu cooler for some time to bring up my clock numbers but wasn't prepared to shell out 50-60 bucks for it.

I picked this cooler mainly for its design and price: the copper baseplate and heat pipes + fan blows air right into my exhaust fan. Keeps x4 955 at 31 on idle (WITH Cool N' Quiet enabled) and up to 51 on load in Prime 95. I don't see it climb above 46 on any issue I presently throw at it. Comes with a pack of thermal grease also, but I didn't use it this time. Mounting was a small tricky for me. There's a video right here that shows specifically how to install it.. so, not truly a con per say. Probably would have been less complicated if I had someone holding it straight although mounting. This is a fantastic cooler for the value and I would get it once more in a heartbeat if I didn't want anything extremely high-finish. My initial set up gave idle temps of 37 and 56 on load. Was pretty positive I did something wrong and remounted for the temps I listed in Pros. My assistance would be put a little pressure on the top as you install and make confident to fasten each screw equally to ensure you're creating even contact.

Keeps my new AMD Phenom II X4 820 Deneb 2.8GHz at about 30C although idle. 33-38C whilst doing minor tasks and video editing ࿁-35C whilst browsing the internetာ-48C Under incredibly heavy load (Crysis, Negative Corporation two, etc)Pretty quiet for its size. I spent about 30 minutes attempting to get the factor onto my motherboard. I mean seriously, I could NOT get this factor on straight, I had to get a person to screw in the screws though I held the heatsink and person clamps on with both hands. Of course, AMD has poor mounting, but at least it's much more secure than Intel. I didn't use the grease that came with, I instead got some Arctic Silver five for ป, operates like a charm. Also, if it's creating incredibly loud noises, just barely tighten the screws. It appears that the screws becoming just BARELY looser than the tightest they can be means it tends to make loud noises, but I only had this challenge when I initially turned it on.Went from a Q6600 that ran at about 40C idle and 60C under heavy load to this, so this is a dream come correct.

I literally just finished installing this on my Phenom II 955 and I was so impressed I had to immediatly log on here and post a assessment. Prime has been operating for about 15 minutes and my cpu temps are down 20 degrees C!!!!! TWENTY DEGREES! It has gone from 62 to hovering around 42. I did have a terrible stock fan previously but I still never ever expected such a terrific difference. The assembly takes a second to wrap your head about but the instructions do a great job of explaining how to set it up for your specific socket mobo. A W E S O M E

- Nice Size. I've had larger 120MM coolers and they are heavy and difficult to manage inside the case. This one isn't tiny, but the install is straightforward (bringing up the next point).- Install was straightforward. The ring concept is fantastic. You don't have to be concerned about taking the MB out or obtaining your hands around a large fan/heatsink.- The fan is embedded into the heatsink, which appears to be a lot more efficient for cooling and needs much less weight. Plus, the weight is much more centered.- Greatest Pro of all: Dropped individual core temps from 80C to 60C on FULL load. Primary CPU temp: 51C (down from 70C). Space temp: 75F. CPU: Core i5 2500k overclocked @ four.1 GHz. Right after seeing how a lot it dropped temps, I upped the clock to 4.four and general CPU still doesn't get over 55c, even with Prime95 running for an hour.- Rebate drops the cost quite a bit.- I was out of Arctic Silver and utilized the included thermal paste. Good bonus.- QUIET! All the while, the fan was in no way over 35%. Barely audible. I did have to appear at the directions briefly, which is not genuinely a con. Forgot to mention that idle temps didn't change too drastically. They dropped about 5 degrees. My concern was the max temps, anyway.
