The cooler does exactly what it's supposed to. It cools. Now, I've been extremely impressed with this cooler, as it's Still operating, and Nonetheless rated to cool an i7 processor. I initially bought this heatsink/fan combo over four years ago to cool my 3200+, and later my 3400+. Lately, I was going to acquire a unique heatsink/fan for my most current and greatest Core two Quad 9550. I didn't realize even though that the cooler I purchased four years ago, nevertheless operates wonderful on right now's CPU's.It's extremely rather, and following four years of use (most of which were spent clogged up with dust), the fan nonetheless spins freely like the day it was bought. Cons... effectively, there's really only 1 con worth mentioning, and regrettably, it can be a PITA. After a few months, if you're a dirty b@stard such as myself, and have a dusty space, it will clog up with dust, and heating will be SEVERELY hindered. To go back to my 3200+ days... I had let my technique sit in storage for 6+ months, and when I brought it out, it was overheating. Absolutely nothing I would do would support, and I at some point purchased a 3400+ thinking it was the CPU just on it's final legs. I disassembled that method from head to toe, and reassembled, w/o alter in temps. What was the difficulty, and ultimate answer? See these super fine spaces in among the heatsink fins? They have been CAKED with dust. I mean CAKED. Extended story quick, I blew the heatsink out, and problem was resolved. This issue should be blown out just about every few months and as lengthy as it is, it'll continue to maintain your system cool for actually years. As listed above, make confident the heatsink is blown out from time to time. If you see your temps rising, commence there first. Excellent is best notch. Included mounting instructions weren't all that clear as of four years ago, but now they're considerably superior (actually animated on their website now), so that's not seriously an concern. The blue LED matches the rest of my system, and looks great. All round is extremely quiet, and if I had to do it over, I would.

1. I was incorrect. Apparently this DOES function with an AM3 socket. two. In order to get this to perform with an AM3 you socket it calls for significant force. 3. This is my initial time developing a system with an AMD CPU. Perhaps all of them demand ridiculous, mobo bending force to attach the heatsink. This however tends to make me incredibly nervous about damaging factors. It could perform but I'm definitely not a fan of the design at all.

Appears great, operates great, System is considerably cooler A bit loud. Installation was a bit really hard for S775, you could want to bend the bracket on the bottom meticulously until you can safe it appropriately. Complicated, but functions effectively.

I choose this cooler, due to the fact the fan truly faces the side window of my Computer case, enabling the glowing LED FAN to be far more visible. The blue glow good & bright & sexy! I ran this with an AMD Phenom II X2 550 & I never had any heating difficulties. Not compatible with Phenom processors that utilizes 95 watts or greater. I have to ditch this cooler in order to upgrade to a 6-core processor. The Zalman CNPS8700 LED is fundamentally the identical design, but all cooper & with heatpipes. Pick this model if your CPU utilizes additional than 95 watts.

- Quiet- Functions with AM3 socket- Incorporates a fan-speed throttle. - Awkward to handle- Demands thermal grease (included)- Swapping brackets was a bit klunky Some individuals have talked about that the downward force needed to set up this was considerable, but I didn't discover that to be the case. The install requires thermal grease which I haven't applied before. A swift Google gave me a very good system. The AM3 install can be a touch confusing; the bracket is in two pieces. It tends to make sense as soon as you figure it out even though. So far it has been great, a touch louder than I believed it would be. I have not installed the fan throttle, that might aid...

appears good none of the mounts offered will mount to an AM3 board and practically nothing listed in the directions about AM3. I am confident this may possibly perform with intel 775 or am2 but they will need to either give the proper mounts for AM3 or stop saying it is compatable. Manufacturer Response:Dear Worth Buyer,The AM3 clip assistance ought to be incorporated inside the box, please try contacting our RMA/Tech help division through 714-530-0700 ext. 228. Zalman has a wonderful rep with overclockers. Confusing compatibility listing. Just wanted to add a word of caution given that I wasn't essentially able to use the product. Study the FINE PRINT. Somehow, in my getting zeal, I totally misread the CPU Compatibility section on this item. It does not operate with Socket AM3 mobo's (Athlon II X3 440 processors, for instance). Believed I'd clear that up in case everyone else considers purchasing it.

Does the job. Comparatively low-cost. Inside Intel specifications for cooler weight. Quiet. Does not appear to interface to the motherboard in a way exactly where the CPU can handle the fan speed. You get an external dial to adjust it.Manufacturer gives inexpensive zinc oxide as a thermal interface material. I purchased silver TIM to use rather. (also note intels stock TIM employed for their stock heatsink appears to be a silver kind compound as effectively. Have not attempted operating high overall performance graphics but to see how much the CPU temp rises. This factor has substantially larger cooling fins than the stock cooler that came with the Intel E7400 so I expect it will execute greater.

Quiet, keeps the CPU reasonably cool, mounts very securely. I used this fan to replace a retail heat sink for a 65W Core2 Duo. I really like the way it clamps to the back of the motherboard. The style is properly-even though-out. I had a couple millimeters of vertical clearance on my motherboard between the fan and the voltage regulation elements. This fan may well not mount on boards with fancy power circuits or tightly-packed elements. These fans do want an occasional squirt of compressed air.

extremely simple install on am2 motherboard, keeps my amd 4600 overclocked to two.6 with idle temp 30c. low cost value compared to other coolers. none this is a extremely straightforward cooler to set up on am2 socket. any person obtaining difficulty installing this has in no way installed a cooler ahead of. also i generally use artic silver 5 as an alternative of the gunk provided. i am incredibly delighted with this cooler and would recommend it to any person. this was perfect for my processor to do away with stock cooler. also i have an antec 300 which is a good cooling case. 4 120 fans and 1 leading 140 fan. folks that complain about temps becoming high is mainly because they have a case with poor airflow.

Good hunting style and fits on my micro-ATX board. Performance is possibly decent but I will by no means know due to installation issues. The force needed to install the clip for an AMD processor is ridiculously high. I estimate the pressure on the CPU is five times better than the common cooler that came with the AMD CPU. Guidelines suggest utilizing a screwdriver as a lever to install the clip. I attempted setting up by hand initially but could not get it to lock. Reluctantly I tried the screwdriver system and ended up with a broken fan blade. I just hope I did not harm the CPU or motherboard. Also, no 4-pin connector. It's going into the trash or back to Newegg. Those with AMD processors should appear for other alternatives.

Quiet operation and great heat dissipation region. Reasonably priced. With 4-pin mainboards, there will be no smart fan handle and the fan will run at highest speed unless the bundled manual speed controller is employed. (The fan *will* be speed-controlled with the three-pin connections of older mainboards.) And, the set up is difficult on AMD boards -- not only ought to the bracket be manually changed, a single ought to be mindful of cuts, as the heatsink fins are thin and sharp. I set up two of these, one in an old 939 and the other in a new AM3.

I do not know. It looks like it would cool better than a stock cooler. Specs say it functions with AM3. This does not seem to be the case. 1. Altering the bracket from Intel to AMD was an massive discomfort.2. Specs say it's compatible with AM3 socket which it isn't. Checked out a few other Zalman cooler that show compatability with AM3 and I don't see the correct brackets in the pictures either. I know nothing at all of Zalman but I will be replacing this with a distinct manufacturers item. Reasonable WeightFan or Auto ManageDecent CoolingSimple InstallVery Great ManufacturingBlows air down over motherboard elements Naturally, not as cool as the copper versionsDoesn't aid front to back airflow I have had the Alcu and Cu versions of this fan for years and each have worked (and still are working)great. I just bought this new revision for my new Computer utilizing the 65W Regor CPU (AMD Athlon II 250). This is a fantastic fan for low-medium energy applications. The highest I have utilized it was on my old Athlon which was 90W. I was impressed by the fit and finish on this new revision. It seemed significantly enhanced more than the already fantastic older versions. If you are hunting at a 100W+ CPU, I'd advise at least the copper/larger versions or going to a tower cooler.

Super quiet, even when hooked up straight to mobo. Simply adaptible amongst AMD and Intel. Heatsink fins are a bit fragile, but just manage with care. I didn't have any difficulties with the pressure to clamp it down...just be careful. Good quiet heatsink. Inexpensive as well. I employed Arctic Silver instead of the grease that came with it, but it does come with grease.

It looks excellent, uncomplicated to set up if u adhere to directions. Straightforward to mount in AMD two. In my program is not operating greater than 715 RPM, ..it ought to run at a larger speed.. There's only two degree diferential temperature between this cpu cooler and the cpu cooler that came with my program. In other words , my technique use to run idle 52 Degree and with moderate load 69 degree, and right after and installed this CPU Cooler i only get 50 and 67 degree respectively. I would like to commit a small much more in a much better CPU cooler, but with the restoking fee from Newegg it didn't worth it.If u can devote further 20 or 30 bucks, then get a thing else.
