Pros: Amazing looking on an Asus Rampage 2 Extreme mobo..heavy duty/easily mounted.with high quality mounting screws and springs.very rich looking. got it mounted on an i7 965.and average temps under load are 27 to 28 celcius.idle. 24.5 to 25.5,26 in that area.cod 4 modern warfare doesn't even sweat it.crazy handsome,if you spend six grand on a comp.like i did get this rich looking cpu block Comment:
get it,its inexpensive for what you get...alot of extra's great mounting brackets too. a child could set this up,amd and intel compatible..great product..ncix rocks and Linus helped me a ton, |

I've bought this cpu block and i'll love it. Ok yes he made some high restriction so be sure to have a high flow pump to work with.Effective and the socket adapter are very strong so you can tight the screw very hard. |

Cons: Would be nice for the price if they included some cheap barbs, but I guess since I'm spending this much already, ha ha. Very restrictive. So you better have a strong pump, and might want to dedicate it to its own loop.

Bought this to try in place of my D-tek V2 block, on my Q9550, they cooled exactly the same, and I mean exactly. But then I switched my system over to i7, and the V2 block cooled decently, but the koolance block gave me a noticable difference in temps. 4-5C. I'm thinking its mainly due to the mounting methond the Koolance block has, gives for a good snug secure fit. The D-tek has a chance it could apply a little less pressure. Could easily be fixed by adding a washer or two under the springs though. Costly block, but does a very good job ;-) |
Overall once installed I am very happy with the performance of this block. However the packaging I received did not have a mounting plate compatible with S939. I had contacted Koolance tech support to see if any peices were missing. They advised no and then failed to respond to all further emails. After 5 days I contacted Customer Service who were able to figure out within a couple of days that they had recently changed the backplate for better compatiblity with LGA1366 and the new backplate did not support S939/Am2. They mailed me out the socket-f backplate that day (albeit via a rather slow courier method) and once this arrived I was able to fully enjoy this block. I am coming from a Danger Den TDX and this block dropped my temps from ~42c full load to ~34c full load on a Operton 165 r 2.8ghz (1.45v). I intend to goto an i5 in the very near future and am very confident this block will give me the performance I am looking for.
