The board can function with 3 non-sli'd Nvidia GTX 480 videocards. This board does not work with four Nvidia video cards and the sli feature does not work as nicely. This is my last Asus board ever. This piece of trash need to not have been released. It offers everyone BSOD's if you even sneeze at it. It doesn't match its description of operating with four Nvidia video cards. I purchased this board for Folding@home and this is my third Crosshair IV Extreme board and final attempt to get the thing functioning. I've repeatedly upgraded the Lucid driver and all other drivers as well and Windows 7 nonetheless will not perform with four four GTX 480's only three. Remain away from this board. Asus customer service has grow to be terrible and their Forum is a joke. |

all the newest bells and whistles, hot seeking,sexy mobo, asus lan beta driver repair just ordered have to wait and see reading the evaluations i see alot of poor ratings that are not justified. trash since it wont run 4 geforce cards, trust me a board like that, you wont get for 300.00, look at guru3d to discover what your hunting for. as for the bulldozer chip not operating on it. so what, that eight-core chip is a waste of cash only supporting dual-channel memory. that will be an insane bottle-neck for any method. could as effectively get this and sit on it till amd gets it appropriate with the 10 or 12 core chip that will run tri/quad channel memory. getting in a position to use any brand of vid card is a blessing on an AMD board. Totally wonderful lay out and one of the quite couple of lay outs I have seen that you can in fact use 4 cards in xfire. Only con I can see is why the put an intel nic card on it are you critical??? Ok they make wonderful processors but come on there nic cards are just as poor as they're graphics terrible. All and all this has to be the finest mother board I have noticed this year I was essentially wanting to construct I7 980x but I do not like the alternatives for the mother boards. If this board was for an intel construct wow !!!!! I use what ever I want to develop with and my initially choice when it comes to a develop is often motherboard before processor even ram ahead of processor. Good board just about every point worked fine untill Untill I installed the sound drivers something is incorrect I have a 5.1 sound system all the speakers function fine except the back suitable one particular.I pluged it in the front port and it works fine so it's not the speaker it the stupid black headphone jack is only broadcasting on 1 side. |

Finally performs!!!!Quick right after an epic quantity of blue screens and crashes. I got it to operate. Required an old school keyboard..... NB runs round 40c not terrible from what i've read from other individuals.Other then that anything performs wonderful. Excellent BIOS overclock features. Sharp hunting board. The greatest con is that Lucid Hydralogix contraption Asus is attempting to use to compete with Intel's currently verified chipsets featuring Crossfire / SLI assistance. I enjoy every little thing about this board... practically. I love the design of the BIOS, the flexibility, the future possibilities (hey, I could uncover a use for USB three. one particular day). Asus announced in mid-March that this board will operate with the forthcoming AMD Bulldozer CPUs that, according to initial reports, run 150% more rapidly than comparable Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs. This news is new as of late March 2011 and I doubt if resellers have had time to incorporate it into their product descriptions. You will need to have to use the 3012 BIOS -- which Asus warns must be applied only with AM3+ CPUs -- do NOT use an AM3 or AM2 CPU with this BIOS. Not actually a "con," but you've got to place one thing in this field. Asus tech support, by the way, is in the U.S. Sometimes it's fairly darned great, sometimes it is awful. Umm, somehow when installing the lucid computer software/drivers, it says that there is no Hydra hardware located. I see an individual else has this situation, but i'm hoping it is user error for both of us.No added eSata port on mobo for front panel on my awesome HAF X. It was there on the C4Formula, but somehow it got lost more than on the intense. but that is just a nit. Why do people say it is not ASUS' fault about the DOA NIC? They created the apparently foolish option to not use Marvell like all the other boards i have owned from ASUS and other people. |

This mobo appears incredibly quite. Has lots of space for GPUs. 3x 16xPCIe. I dont like the bios update application or the boot skin software program that came with this board. Terrible drivers. This charges to substantially for what you truly get. A ROG Asus high end board really should be bug absolutely free and additional stable. Ok so this is my main issue with this board correct now: I get a strange hiss that comes out of my speakers most times i restart or shutdown my laptop. It lasts about 2-4 seconds. I know its not the cables or the speakers I have applied them on other systems and they function fine. I dont want to RMA for this mainly because certainly i would have to take apart the complete method + the cooler master v10. Ok, I had the similar LAN dilemma u all r having. If u take away the driver from the device manager, reboot and load out the current driver from Intel, IT does Work! For the duration of the set up, uncheck the management application and just install the driver (top choice). Eh Voila, no far more BSODs on high traffic!
