1st. High excellent, sturdy, rack rails, effectively built case! 2nd eight Hot-swappable hdd trays, 6 hot-swappable high high quality fans, 3 hot-swappable redundant power provide. 3rd. Very uncomplicated to hold your cabling organized and clean! 4th. five.25" bay and slim dvd bay is screw-less style (well not truely screw-less, you nevertheless will need to screw the slider). 5th. plastic hood is nice to hold a great air flow, it supports the height upto 2U heatsink (w/ or w/o the fans) uptoaround 67ㅼmm height. I use the thermaltake CLS0005 for my E5520, MBD-X8DTi-O construct and fit completely. 6th. Price! Cant get anything closer to this price with lot of function supermicro gives with this case for 軷.99 and even free shipping! 1st. I hate their screws for the hard drive! They are way as well simple to break... 2nd. 1 of the the hot-swappable tray is DOA! Their is an aluminum plate down to the bottom that was bent and therefore the tray can not be slide back! They also appears to be straightforward to break like that so becareful with them. 3rd. Even if I use Supermicro's suggested motherboard from their web-site, the front panel pins do not match! You have to unscrew from the top rated to take down the front panel and change the original cables to the the other one particular they came with and tie all the tiny cables with each other then plug them to the motherboard 1 by 1. 4th. Manual... the info of the documentation they provided on their website for download is extremely limited! I can not discover any documentation for the energy supply, how to take down the front panel, how to this and how to that, and so on. 5th. not that i can believe of for now This case is Quite loud if you are working with it for a quiet server environment. It is louder than my server area's vacuum! But hey, they keep your server cool. Supermicro's support is awsome, you dont wait or waste time with any of the receptionist, they redirect you to whatever help you need to have in a extremely quick time! Also their RMA is quick, FedEx typical overnight cross-shippment will just make you content. This chasis is truly heavy, try not to lift it or place it to the rack yourself or your will get injured for sure. And, NEWEGG ROCKS!! I was fortunate that I bought this case for 599.99 with free shipping... just located out it is now 629.99 and need to have $$ for shipping, hahaha. 1 final point, be certain to buy EIDE slim dvd rom if you want the slim one particular, they ship with EIDE backplane, but i rather purcahse SATA slim dvd burner with additional cable for slim dvd rom. And the energy supply comes with 1x24pin main, 2x8pin CPU, 1x4pin CPU, 6x4pin peripheral, 2xFloppy, and NO SATA connector.

Quite nicely built case. Great kind element, specifically when utilized with SuperMicro boards. The rails that are integrated are very higher good quality. The absolute killer of this case, is that the hot swap drive trays are horrible. The plastic lip that holds the drive latch is just a tiny bump of plastic. In quick, the drive bay latches will not latch or stay latched. As quickly as you click it into location, it pops open. I called SuperMicro on this and they have been really useful, or so I believed. They informed me that this was a recognized issue and they have since replaced the shoddy trays with new ones that have much better latches. They cross shipped me the new trays at no charge. Even so, when I opened the box, I discovered that the "new" bays have been the exact very same point I currently had. In reality, for the duration of shipping in a extremely padded box, 6 of the 8 trays had popped open! This totally KILLS an otherwise 5 Egg case. I wound up getting to crazy glue the bay latches, which kinda kills the hot swap functionality.

It's effectively constructed and the triple redundant hot swappable power supplies, and hot swappable fans are a plus. Supermicro tech help is wonderful. Operating drive cables was seriously tight. I would have liked another half inch to perform with. Had an problem with a single of the front hot swappable fan connectors that kept setting off an alarm. It's LOUD!!!! Effortlessly the loudest method in that space (compairing to PSeries 630, fibrechannel difficult drive tower, and a couple Dell PowerEdge servers. There is a temperature difference of 6 degrees C between the temp reading of the front socket vs the second socket ƒx Opteron Italy 265) but neither exceed 37 degrees below complete load utilizing stock heatsinks.

Extremely properly put together. Great fit and finish. Contains rails, all accessories for mounting slim CD/DVD drive, and so forth. General a quite good case. Yeah, it does sound like a plane taking off... drive trays a bit flimsy, no way to safe energy/reset buttons, no front panel USB. Paired this with a Supermicro X7DBN board. No issues with cable reach.

Triple redundant power supplys, hot swappable every little thing, fantastic cooling, effortless to develop when making use of Supermicro boards, Incredibly sturdy, consists of rails Cabling is a bit short and difficult to route, NO documentation was integrated, manual on web page is short and incomplete, Fans are EXCEPTIONALLY loud when all are installed and running Due to the complete lack of any type of documentation, it took me a although to figure out that you should use the included specific standoffs (studs) in order to mount the factory Intel heatsinks to the motherboard/chassis. Following obtaining these and screwing them in, the heatsink bolt appropriate on sandwiching the motherboard and cpu in between. Exceptionally sturdy and solid chassis and quite straightforward to construct when using a Supermicro mainboard such as the X7DBE I purchased.

Solid steel, wonderful hot swap bays, good sata backplane with added fan pin-outs enabled by jumpers, solid power provide(Triple redundant is not discovered in this cost range EVER), quite modular and simply modifiable, Amazing RAILS(no screws, adjustable, stable, incredibly smooth). I essentially discovered the situation to be quite quiet compared to other server instances in the 2u and 3u range. Front panel ribbon is really brief. I bought a TYAN S7012GM4NR motherboard along with this case and it turned out that the front panel pin-outs were over next to the PCI-E slots...and the cable was about a foot brief. Right after splicing 16 wires and adding 1.5 feet to each and every I ended up creating it perform but that was 2 hours of my life I'll not get back... If you folks over at Supermicro read this, please extend these cables on future revisions of this situation =) General fantastic situation, I'd purchase a different. In fact I likely will. Oh yeah, I paid for three day shipping and it was at my workplace in 2. Thanks for getting wonderful Newegg!

Sturdy situation, just about every little thing is hot swappable. Cabling should be rethought. Even although I purchased a Supermicro server board (X7DVA-E-O), the floppy and 8-pin power cables do not reach. It sounds like a jet taking off. It is extremely heavy.

Triple redundant supply, every little thing is hot swappable. Screws. Also straightforward to strip. Mainboard installation can be quite a challenge, tight on area. Front panel tape connector is not compatible even with supermicro mainboards. It was also glued to the panel. It comes with separate wires for all connectors but to replace them I had to unscrew the panel on two instances, the screw head got stripped down on first twist. Also, realigning the panel seems impossible, I just couldn't get it back to original position. I expect a lot more from 轜 case. Also, hdd tray screws are also very easily stripped. One particular egg taken for screw and panel imperfections.General good case, I will purchase more if needed.

Comments: This case is a marvel. Almost everything in it is hot swap down to the fans. Be warned, if you aren't employing a supermicro supported motherboard you may well not be able to use all of the functions like overheat and energy fail idicators. Also, it sounds like a jet is taking off. not a difficulty if it's isolated in a server space I suppose. CD drives or hot swap bays that are very extended might interfere with the hot swap fans. If you are employing a raid card you may will need an adapter to get the hot swap LEDs to perform. Weighs a ton. excellent craftmanship.

This case was pure joy, every little thing fit perfectly, it is extremely sturdy and well created. Utilised supermicro MBD-H8Dii+-F-O motherboard. fan cables and PSU monitoring cable had been exact length for this motherboard, they would most likely be too brief for most other baords. Hot swap bays are high high quality and I think this case (supermicro badge removed) is also utilised for some digital cinema players/servers which are used to drive projectors in massive movie theaters where any failure of the projection program is extremely very negative, there is no area for poor good quality in the globe of digital cinema. A really amazing feature is hot-swappable case fans. Really short cables, you will have to get extensions if you are not working with a supermicro mobo. I will use this case and only this case for any future server builds.

This case is really nicely built and sturdy. It comes with exceptional redundancy capabilities. The case also comes with quite rugged rack mountable sliders. For the cost it by all implies resolves many head aches of making a server comparable to many of todays "Branded" systems. Cable length. Considering that this case is a Supermicro case and developed with supermicro Motherboards in mind, energy provide cables might not reach for some Motherboards (if not supermicro). I would suggest you look at the mother board you wish to run in this box and compare the power supply cable locations to the places of the energy connectors on your board. I run Asus server boards and have had to buy an extra 8-pin power cable extension for the 8-pin energy cable on the energy provide. Other than that no gripes!

• Hotswappable fans/power supplies function excellent• Plastic shroud runs above CPU to force high airflow• Straightforward-to-mount rails • Heavy• No documentation included (could be a difficulty, especially for SATA hot-swap board) I employed this case for a high-availability trixbox IP-PBX. So far it has exceeded my expectations in every single region except documentation. It appears like a solid trustworthy product, but time alone will tell...
